I have seen posts on another forum lamenting the passing of Denis Cornelius, guitarist and vocalist from this band, among many others. He was the main man in Revelation in their middle period , but I don't have any of the recordings he is on so that info had previously passed me by. I am listening to OverSoul now and it is something really special I think. Proper traditional doom that is similar in style to Revelation and Warning (possibly an influence on Watching From A Distance, but that might be as much a Revelation influence) with really great melodic vocals and creative yet traditional riffs. I'm always on the lookout for good traditional doom but people mostly seem to recommend groovy doom that sounds like stoner doom with a dark twist,  and that usually leaves me wanting, so this is a really pleasant surprise. The CD goes for half nothing on Discogs so I'll have to pick it up.

RIP to the man.

Edit. Vocally I hear a bit of Bobby Leibling and Eric Wagner, but the dude had  his own thing going on.

'Feel' and 'Inner Dilemma' off that are just perfect songs for atmos. Vocal reminds me of Sumerlands 1st now in retrospect.

An overlooked band from nearer to home that weren't so obvious genre wise but reminded me of OverSoul. End Of Level Boss abiet with a Voivod twist
