LOL, mightn't be much love for these lads but there's been a couple of vinyl reissues recently that have maybe slipped under the radar.

They've always got my curiosity - I'd nearly label it outsider art rather than grind. It's almost hard to believe they were committed to the joke for so long. Putnam certainly annoyed as many people as possible. Anyone ever see the Slave to The Grind doc? So many labelled him a piece of shit - and you can't say he didn't come across that way. There was definitely talent in there somewhere if it could've been refined more. His vocals on Pantera's Great Southern Trendkill remain my favourite thing he's ever done.

I Like It When You Die was released this year on four different vinyl variants. Probably the one I spin most. How can you argue with songs like "You Keep a Diary" or "You Live on a Houseboat"

This one is for the afficionados - Box Set of Early Releases, Splits, Live Performances

F.O.A.D. Records celebrates its 200th release with the most extreme boxset in music history! The ultimate, most exhaustive collection of AxCx recordings from the band's early years: all their singles, split 7″s, comp. tracks, demos, the ultra-rare first tape 1988, rehearsals, unplugged, live... and the impossible to find "A head-shot for your thoughts"  promo ltd. to 6 copies. More than half of the stuff included has never been released on vinyl to date or has been out of print for a long time. "When the band started the goal was to be the fastest, noisiest, shittiest band around and to have absolutely no trace of musicality at all.." (Seth Putnam). "We did it before you and we did it better" (Tim Morse).  6 x LP's housed in a deluxe box with AxCx logo printed in spot UV, 72 page book filled with never seen before photos, scans of the original releases, liner notes by Seth's mom, band members & friends, memorabilia from Seth's personal archives and a lot more! A monsterwork carefully assembled over the years, mastered from selected, best sounding sources. Without getting in lost in descriptions and labels, AxCx were the world's fastest and noisiest band and their status of genius and nihilism will never be beaten!

Massive soft spot for them, particularly "Top 40 Hits". Puttnam was an absolute gobshite but also impossible to take seriously.

Obviously they were deeply amusing in a wonderfully infantile sort of way.

But there are some genuinely brilliant tracks on the likes of 'It Just Gets Worse''Defenders Of The Hate' and 'Wearing Out Our Welcome'. I have a soft spot for 'Morbid Florist' too.

Also Full Blown AIDS were great. And I'm sure most people find their lyrics distasteful at the very least, but Vaginal Jesus had some immense riffs, and such a genuine, fundamentally heavy sound that I wish we heard on more albums.

The recent I like it when you die is a boot. Got it anyway as I don't see an official release ever coming. The box from FOAD is official it got the go ahead from Tim and I think Seth's Mother even had some involvement in it.I got the version that came with the cardboard AxCx figures  .

Limited Appeal who have officially released a number of Seth's projects on vinyl over the years are now considering repressing 110 song LP on vinyl which would be great and my guess is if that does well they will repress more Seth related things. They did the Full Blown AIDS stuff on vinyl about 15 years which I always regret selling off.

What's the verdict on the box set? Worth shelling out for?

I do appreciate them for being absolute shit stirrers.

Think they're a rite of passage when you're getting into the extreme stuff as a teen with the edge Lord titles.

When Puttnam died there was a class thread in the b9(?) board with all the horror stories from folks that either booked AC, played with them etc.  Must see if it's up on the archives.

Love the fact "Locking Drop Dead in McDonalds" lead at least in part to Drop Dead battering the shit out of them.

Also love the fact that the surviving AC members have a new band called Burt Bacharach.

I occasionally read some AC lyrics and laugh though I know I shouldn't. I Ate Your Horse is my fav.

I can't find the original at the minute but the video of Josh Martin heckling Gene Simmons when he makes a public appearance in a shopping centre is hilarious.

I have seen a story posted on different forums over the years from a guy who brought Anal Cunt to his college gym or somewhere to play a show in which he goes through the entire evening of how things went from the minute he picked up Seth and the lads on the day to when they left which is also very funny. I will post that when I come across it again.

Is that the one with Seth stuck in the hedge?😂

Just quoting to stick the video in there. It's hilarious tbh

Not sure if already posted but this is great. How can you not love AC.

I found him genuinely funny, don't understand people such as those in that Slave to the Grind doc getting offended by him, come off it.
Love the cover of that EP called Breaking the Law where they used the Judas Priest font and the picture is Putnam throwing a chair.

They had a few bangers here and there. "I went back in time and voted for hitler" is a proper catchy tune.

I can't remember if that was part of it what I do remember is they insisted on watching the Simpsons when it was on TV. A load of skinheads showed up to the show and Seth did everything he could to piss them off.

He was basically the original Troll a Troll before people even knew what that was.

Be cool to have a few albums on vinyl. They were fucking hilarious and never changed ha ha ha.if you don't find this funny you have no sense of humour
