QuoteGo on so, I'm surely missing a trick by misunderstanding why they should be so popular. Is there a particular tune that will make me appreciate their non generic chops?
Big ZZ Top fan here - they are weird alright, a song might seem like nothing but you can't shift it out of your head for weeks. Like AC/DC for every great tune there is 10 also-rans. I think my fave era is Deguello (79). Try that - Cheap Sunglasses is great. So cool. They've a lot of great little tunes though. I love the Afterburner album as well, Planet of Women - what a tune

Think that's exactly where I heard it, poss the year 2000. Those comps were gold. Amazing tune

Quotemy favourite part of his show where the bits at the start of the show where he would have some mad conspiracy theory amd Adrian would just be saying "yeah" back to everything

That used crack me up as well. He was doing the heavy lifting on the raucous banter alright. Seemed to work for them though...

Yeah a relative of mine also recently "rocked up" to have a serious lack of energy looked at only to be riddled and dead exactly one week later. It seems to be fairly common enough scenario. The mind boggles

Desperate. Listened away to him every time his podcast was on. He seemed to genuinely love everything he played. "Fuck it they'd be a strong contender for the end of the year list". Used to sit there with his Playstation controller and a beer just loving the tunes. RIP bud

QuoteFor a band like ours, that's not a small inconvenience—it's a serious financial blow.

The ChatGPT of that

Yeah he is great. They've had a few spicy drummers over the years including Ken Bedene and 666Samus

Not as far as I know. Think it only works off due to a day off on the tour before the Cork date

Session drummer Federico Leone (currently touring with Abigail Williams) is in town and will be doing a drum clinic in the Spailpín Fánach on Tues June 2nd (Abigail gig on Wed). One or two local drummers playing as well (cough cough).
7 - 9.30pm
Good for anyone interested in metal drumming technique or drumming in general. Kids welcome (under 16's accompanied by adult)
Good opportunity to see this guy up close if that's your hang.

Always bothered me that the SFU bass player has like 900 strings on his bass as if he's in Level 42. In reality he needs one string, and maybe a small few frets.

Got sent this by FLOSS there (feel free to subtract some of his metal points) but I've genuinely blasting it night and day.

It's really funny and good.
