DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated debut album of Italy's TEMPTRESS, Catch the Endless Dawn, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Formed in 2018, Italy's TEMPTRESS was founded by members of BUNKER 66, Children of Technology, Gargoyle, and Boia with the intent of giving free rein to their passion for the dreamiest and most melancholic heavy metal bands of the '80s – cult names such as Proud and Randy as well as the eternal Heavy Load and Gotham City, among others – without forgetting the darkness of such masters as Mercyful Fate, all seasoned with a genuine obsession for catchy and melodic choruses. Their journey into dreams began with the two-song The Orb 7" for DYING VICTIMS in 2019, which was later compiled onto the label's Dying Victims vol. 2: Heavy Metal Attack CD collection in 2023.

Now, the sleepers have awoken, and arrive from dreamland bearing their debut album: Catch the Endless Dawn. Truly titled, Catch the Endless Dawn sees TEMPTRESS moving measuredly, daresay silkily, across soft-haze heavy metal high on moody melody, brisk but never busy in their gait. The band's muse is most definitely OLD metal, but there's subtlety and an almost-hushed sense of class to their songwriting and execution that elevates the record beyond the skinny-headband & flares hordes: the former always seems pensive even when the mid-tempo pulse picks up into a relatively reined-in gallop, and the latter similarly utilizes restraint in its favor whilst conveying the requisite amount of energy. Likewise, while the realm of dreams runs parallel to the realm of fantasy, TEMPTRESS possess a palatably more delicate side compared to the D&D side of traditional metal, (dream)weaving something both emotional and hypnotic – truly, the "Dream Metal" of which they so sing here. Thus, the aforementioned influences are apt, but so are the likes of early '80s Rainbow, April Wine, or even Blue Öyster Cult's unsung dream-classic Club Ninja. Wake up and Catch the Endless Dawn!

DVP 340 Tèlma – Ανθρωποβόρος / Man-Eater LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present TÈLMA's highly anticipated debut album, Ανθρωποβόρος, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Greece's vital doom scene, Τέλμα (TÈLMA) was formed in 2017 by Marios, Kostis, and Vangelis. All three men were brought together by their love for traditional doom metal, which led them to blend their influences of Russia's Scald, Chile's Procession, Reverend Bizarre, and the UK's Warning into songs of slow, ceremonial, and melancholic atmosphere, also incorporating elements of epic metal whilst staying true to the traditional doom metal spirit. In 2021, the band released the single "Ξίφη Στραμμένα Στο Φοίνικα," which appeared on the compilation Art Against Censorship. The addition of Chris on drums in early 2024 made possible the completion of their first full-length, Ανθρωποβόρος (English: "Man-Eater").

Originally released only digitally but now finding physical release courtesy of DYING VICTIMS, TÈLMA's debut album displays the blanching power of slo-mo emotion and forlorn majesty. Very much firmly within the wider doom pantheon but very much also fully conveying the band's particular personality, Ανθρωποβόρος nevertheless emits a unique atmosphere due to TÈLMA's usage of their native tongue: a conscious choice, and a challenge mastered. Fittingly for such literally weighty metal, the album's lyrics deal with the subjects of inner struggle, emancipation, the man-made misery of this world, and coming to terms with the inevitable end. That TÈLMA are able to weave distinctive melody and transfer those emotions beyond the meaning of the lyrics – no need to say "It's all Greek to me" here – adds a mysterious, multidimensional element to their epic doom, and suggests further mastery to come. Fans of the aforementioned as well as Solitude Aeternus, DoomSword, and Crypt Sermon are wholeheartedly encouraged to get devoured by Ανθρωποβόρος!

DVP 341 Iron Spell – From the Grave LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present IRON SPELL's highly anticipated second album, From the Grave, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Santiago, Chile's IRON SPELL was founded in mid-2013 by drummer and composer Felipe Carvajal (Steelhammer), initially with the idea of ��making a classic heavy metal album with friends, mixing the mysticism and darkness of King Diamond and Black Sabbath with hard & heavy rock from the '70s and '80s like KISS, Alice Cooper, Twisted Sister, and WA.S.P. The lack of commitment and involvement of some musicians considerably delayed the process, and what was going to be a full-length ended up being a four-song EP, Heavy Metal Witchcraft. Shortly after, the band uploaded Heavy Metal Witchcraft to social media, and the word spread fast: in a few weeks, it was released in Europe on 7″ vinyl, cassette, and CD by three different labels, with DYING VICTIMS being the first ones to believe in IRON SPELL and release this recording on cassette.

IRON SPELL made their live debut in March 2014 and continued to remain active despite a few lineup changes, always faithful to their style and sound. Both fully blossomed on their debut album, 2016's Electric Conjuring, which even featured Judas Priest's Richie Faulkner on one track. In 2021, IRON SPELL released both the EP Live Magic after Midnight and, later, the Argentinean compilation Witching Hour – The Best of Iron Spell.

The best was yet to come for IRON SPELL, though, and it's arrived at last in From the Grave. A more thorough-yet-effortless trip through the heavy metal '80s one will not find than what the Chileans present here on their second album. No stone is left unturned – or, rather, gravestone! – as IRON SPELL display the dazzling breadth of their metallic songcraft, all illustrating their thematic commitment to classic horror. From backstreet strutters to fleet-fingered speed-runs, cocksure hard rock to moody explorations of the supernatural, anthemic headbangers to equally anthemic speed metal, and even an eerie & evocative instrumental, From the Grave reads like the hypothetical soundtrack to an '80s horror flick, and the quintet positively ooze charisma at every darkly gleaming turn. And atop it all are the dramatic, wide-register vocals of frontman Merciless, who in turn serves as much as narrator as metal god. After 41 fully satisfying minutes and concluding with the chilling epic "Children of the Night," you'll fall under their IRON SPELL and rise From the Grave!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present ANGEL OF DAMNATION's highly anticipated third album, Ethereal Blasphemy, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

ANGEL OF DAMNATION was formed in 2003 with the intention to create epic traditional doom metal influenced by the likes of Candlemass, Witchfinder General, and Saint Vitus on one side and the more '70s vibe of Pentagram and Black Sabbath on the other. The metal part of doom always was a major focus – in other words, putting guitar riffs over soundscapes. Lyrically, the band could maybe be mistaken for a black metal band but dealing less with Satanism and, instead in general, darker topics throughout the history of mankind. The band has a soft spot for blasphemy and simply mocking everything holy and religion in general.

Naturally, all this comes from a host of longtime scene veterans: NOCTURNAL / Front Beast mainman Avenger on guitar, the rhythm section of Cross Vault, and prolific vocalist Gerrit Mutz (Sacred Steel, Battleroar, Dawn of Winter) under the ever-apt handle Doomcult Messiah. Erstwhile NOCTURNAL / BLACKEVIL drummer Hellbastard and his replacement, Cross Vault / Halphas drummer Tempestas, have since departed, and now replaced by Neudi of Sentry, Trance, and ex-Manilla Road. ANGEL OF DAMNATION are nothing if not diehards!

And, seven years since their last full-length, they're here to prove it again with Ethereal Blasphemy. Thankfully, little has changed in the sonic world of ANGEL OF DAMNATION, and their third album is thus a reassertion of ancient powers. Like some lost relic of the NWOBHM, on Ethereal Blasphemy do the quartet purge the witchfinder generals and celebrate the old-world splendor of medieval witchery. From opener "Eternal Life in Hell" to closer "Anal Worship of the Goatlord," ANGEL OF DAMNATION lumber forward with the proud poise of titans, exuding heaviness even when the riffs aren't strictly crushing; there's an almost relaxed gait to the album that's relatively unique for doom metal, maximizing the balance between hook and atmosphere. Credit is due to Neudi, for his looser and more-open style seems like a natural fit for the band, imparting a new dynamic to ANGEL OF DAMNATION whilst keeping their signature sound. The whole album was recorded in Avenger's own cellar, known as the "Somewhere in Nowhere" Studio, fully produced by himself; only the mix & mastering was given to the Journey Into Eternity Studios, and it all results in Ethereal Blasphemy having a vibrant-yet-eldritch feel.

In the past 20-plus years, ANGEL OF DAMNATION have played live only a handful of times, but to celebrate the arrival of this third album, the band will play a few select shows following its release. Graced with an uncharacteristical artwork courtesy of the legendary Chris Moyen, Ethereal Blasphemy will make you kneel before the goat!

DVP 336 Morbyda – Under the Spell LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present MORBYDA's highly anticipated debut album, Under the Spell, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Leipzig, Germany's MORBYDA was founded 2022 by vocalist / guitarist Mogli (Indian Nightmare) and drummer Joris (BOUNDLESS CHAOS, Warm Swords) with the intention to shred some skull-crushing blackened speed metal. Early on, their influences were drawn from the more traditional but equally fast bands of the New Wave of Heavy Metal movement like Skull Fist, Evil Invaders, and Stallion. Thus armed, the duo wrote their first songs, which tended to have a darker and more evil approach than said bands.After the joining of second guitarist Julez (Sintage) and bassist Antoni (Pursuit), MORBYDA completed and recorded their first Demo(n) Tape in 2023 during some more-than-drunken nights in the valleys of Leipzig. Armed with that demo, MORBYDA sharpened their knives and started to play many gigs: Over the Edge 3, Antifascist Black Metal Gathering, touring with BOUNDLESS CHAOS and Necromancer, and many more. In August 2024, they recorded their debut full-length.

A grand debut statement, MORBYDA's Under the Spell is a fresh breath of old air. Wild yet locked-in, exhibiting both the fury of youth and the ageless wisdom of the ancients, the band's debut album remains a HEAVY METAL album above all. The atmosphere may be blackened, the pace swift but never overly speedy, the shifts in dynamics and textures equally restless and thoughtful, but MORBYDA display a maturity beyond their young years here; even calling Under the Spell "blackened speed metal" betrays the depth of their compositions. The dual-lead work alone enflames the senses, sulfurous and yet very nearly NWOBHM, and the quartet's energy – again, no matter the tempo – is simply off the charts here. On sheer charisma alone, MORBYDA could convince the most skeptical of listeners.Old-days references could include Japan's Sabbat, millennial Nifelheim, the late / great Eidomantum, early Tribulation, or Hungary's Tormentor, but all that's to underline just how advanced MORBYDA are at this early stage. It's almost guaranteed you'll fall Under the Spell!

DVP 337 Skräcken – Echoes from the Void LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present SKRÄCKEN's highly anticipated debut album, Echoes From the Void, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Formed in 2022, Sweden's SKRÄCKEN are a band with roots in the forests around a small village in northern Dalarna. The idea for SKRÄCKEN was born through sleep paralysis, where an old lady in an 18th-century dress came to visit: the title of their debut EP, The Presence, was thus apt. The quintet may be new in name but include in their ranks vocalist Sofie-Lee Johansson, formerly of the late / great Night Viper.

If the 19-minute The Presence was but a foretaste of their potential, SKRÄCKEN are set to blow open the doors with their first full-length, Echoes From the Void. Totaling nine songs in 41 minutes, SKRÄCKEN's debut album is a tour de force of moody, melancholic hard rock that seemingly sits in its own category. With some sort of strange magick, the Swedes evoke ancient visions of obscure '70s and '80s hard rock without sounding exactly like anyone; it's more down to feeling, of being lost in time but not quite knowing how you got there. Across Echoes From the Void lingers a thick fog of the occult – the sulfur and brimstone swirl just at the corners of perception, as do visions of misty moors – and the brisk-but-never-busy gait of SKRÄCKEN's songwriting helps cement the sensation of hypnosis or, indeed, sleep paralysis. But through it all, the band remain hard-rocking to the very end, melancholic their muse may be. Of course, Johansson's powerful & distinctive pipes vividly illustrate these visions drawn from paintings by Zdzislaw Beksinski and the dark sides of society. Open your ears and hear SKRÄCKEN's Echoes From the Void!

DVP 338 Lucille – Dawn of Destruction LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS is proud to present LUCILLE's highly anticipated debut album, Dawn of Destruction, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Formed in 2017, LUCILLE offer fresh blood to Poland's ever-expanding thrash metal scene. Inspired by classics of the genre such as Slayer as early Megadeth as well as the German school of old Kreator, Destruction, and Living Death, they began spreading their evil through numerous gigs and shows in their native land. On this recording, LUCILLE paid sonic tribute to the golden days of thrash – years when this music was authentically strong and raw, and before the aforementioned bands set the limits of musical extremes.Soon after those recordings, the Covid madness began, and LUCILLE's lineup changed rapidly. After a while, Jugen took over as a drummer, and the next year, they found the missing pieces: bassist M. Höllenhund and lead guitarist K. Dragunov. From then on, LUCILLE became a solid quartet. Powered by the atomic energy of a drum attack, quick-ripping riffs, wild solo duels, raw-throated vocals, and bone-crushing bass, they played countless shows and prepared to record their long-awaited debut album.

And, finally, it's here! Titled Dawn of Destruction, LUCILLE make good on that titular promise with a total thrash explosion that takes the foundation of the first EP and then upratchets everything to an extreme – and authentic – degree. Influences from the elder American and Teutonic gods thankfully still in place, the quartet spit out eight screeds of THRASH METAL solely situated in the years 1985-1988 within a taut-yet-interesting 38 minutes. Just the guitar tone alone underlines that authenticity, but submit to their straightforward-but-never-simplistic songwriting and you'll find four men fully immersed in what made those golden years of thrash work their mightiest magick. Just as thankfully here, you won't find any fillers, stylistic experiments, cloying ballads, or modern twists; LUCILLE are nothing if not obsessed with said years, and they thus sow destruction, break spines, and kill poseurs across Dawn of Destruction.

Don't be fooled by their moniker: LUCILLE are 666% raw thrash attack with lyrics about doom, diseases, Satanic killers, and death in a post-apocalyptic world. This is their Dawn of Destruction!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HEXECUTOR's highly anticipated third album, ...Where Spirit Withers in Its Flesh Constraint, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Formed in 2011, French quartet HEXECUTOR started with a foundation of raw-and-fierce evil old-school speed/thrash metal, as exemplified by their debut demo and Hangman of Roazhon EP from 2012 and 2014, respectively. Thereafter, they slowly-yet-firmly evolved in various directions when they released Poison, Lust and Damnation debut album in 2016, which DYING VICTIMS released on vinyl a year later.

After proving themselves to be a very efficient live act, HEXECUTOR immersed themselves into Breton legends and history, intertwining their music with Breton lore for their second album, 2020's Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge.... Along with being something of a modern classic – amazingly thorough in its conceptual background, boundlessly inventive in its execution – that album proved to be a turning point for the band: a concerted and confident elevation beyond the standard "blackthrash" tropes so prevalent in the modern underground.

As considerable as that accomplishment was, HEXECUTOR are eclipsing it with their third album, delving yet deeper into dark legends and impressive figures from Celtic-Breton lore. Titled ...Where Spirit Withers in Its Flesh Constraint, LP#3 both sonically and elliptically continues where its momentous predecessor left off; not for nothing is the opening song the belated title track "Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge...." Ripping right out of the gates, HEXECUTOR continue their evolution unabated, adding once again to the richness of their music, and this time with songwriting from both their former and new lead guitarists. Their core is still thrash metal, but even just a cursory listen of ...Where Spirit Withers in Its Flesh Constraint reveals that there's few "thrash" records that will sound like this – this year, or the next, or the year after that. Seemingly effortlessly – or, at least, with some strange magick unique to them – HEXECUTOR lurk yonder into realms both black and more traditionally heavy metal, even venturing far afield into some progressives touches. And whereas Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge... carried a huge conceptual weight, the feeling across ...Where Spirit Withers in Its Flesh Constraint is freer and almost airier, despite this still being DARK heavy metal at its core.

Since 2009, LADY BEAST have been flying the flag for refined HEAVY METAL. The band hail from the Steel City of Pittsburgh, forming with firm influences ranging from Motörhead, Dio, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Mercyful Fate. From there, LADY BEAST have weaved their own unique style of metal with silky-yet-sharp harmonizing guitars and the soaring, rally-the-warriors vocals of frontwoman Deborah Levine. All the while, they've retained their blue-collar roots but have never forgotten the majesty of metal in its earliest, most classic form: fantasy, magic, epic adventure, and of course ANTHEMS!

While it's been five long years since their last full-length – but only a year after DYING VICTIMS stepped in to reissue on vinyl their second album, 2015's pivotal Lady Beast II – LADY BEAST suitably explode from the gates with palpitating urgency on The Inner Alchemist. Mind you, the band aren't necessarily trying to break any speed limits here on LP#5, but rather, it's the power, poise, and all-out swagger they exude on The Inner Alchemist which instills the sensation that LADY BEAST have only been away mere minutes. Thankfully, little has changed in their sturdy aesthetic – authentically '80s-entrenched HEAVY METAL that struts and gallops with equal aplomb, buttressed by instantly-hummable riffs and a palpable atmosphere of swords & sorcery – but if there's one main distinction, it's that the production on The Inner Alchemist highlights their heaviness, giving crunch when proceedings go locomotive and majesty when those proceedings go harmonic. As always, Levine's passionate & powerful vocals are as engaging as ever: emotive and narrative in equal measure, still standing tall atop the keep-it-true pack.

FLY! is a fast and mean rock 'n' roll machine from Melbourne. Emerging from the darkest depths of the Aussie wastelands, FLY! united with a singular vision: to play fast, loud, and mean rock 'n' roll, harkening back to the raw power of 1970s and early '80s rock. Inspired by the likes of Motörhead, Judas Priest, and AC/DC, FLY! are a rough 'n' rowdy amalgam of their influences, and then some!

Formed in 2023, FLY! blasted onto the Australian rock scene, playing up and down the east coast and leaving a trail of destruction (and empty beer cans) in their wake. 2024 saw the release of FLY!'s dangerous debut demo with a string of blistering national performances to follow, seeing FLY! share the stage with the likes of the Cosmic Psychos, Cancer Bats, and heavy metal brethren (and now-labelmates) AARDVARK, among many others.

DVP 333 Hellcrash – Inferno Crematörio LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HELLCRASH's highly anticipated third album, Inferno Crematörio, on CD and vinyl LP.

You wouldn't have guessed it early on, but HELLCRASH would eventually – and patiently – refine their ancient attack, relatively "cleaning up" something still unclean. When they formed in 2013, a debut album was still a way off, but when it landed in 2021 on vinyl via DYING VICTIMS, Krvcifix Invertör proved HELLCRASH were a power-trio in the grand tradition of domestic legends Bulldozer, brewing a similarly sleazy (and EVIL) style of speed metal. And yet, despite another OTT cover suggesting otherwise, their second album announced that there was MUCH more brewing in HELLCRASH's cauldron. Released in 2023, Demonic Assassination saw a fine-tuning of songcraft and a polishing of production that paid off in spades, now nodding more to later GBH, Carnivore, and Warfare.

Alas, a dozen years after their formation, HELLCRASH have pulled off the impossible and refined this attack even further with LP#3, Inferno Crematörio. Of course, another totally OTT cover graces the album, and somehow it makes absolute sense with where HELLCRASH are now going. Whereas its predecessor took various routes – sometimes more speed metal, other times more thrash, or even metalpunk before it was such a thing, often all in the same song – Inferno Crematörio sees a streamlining of their songcraft and a "deftening" of sensibilities, where energy is retained and even doubled through more dynamic playing and indeed an emphasis on dynamics itself. By and large, HELLCRASH here sound their most blackened, but "blackened" in the sense of evil thrash and speed metal imbued with more atmosphere: not "spooky" in the kooky sense, but definitely more sulfurous and sinful, brimming with a sense of space that sounds huge and intimate simultaneously. Likewise, the trio exhibit a newfound charisma that (spit)shines through this sulfurous surge, like Satan laughing as he spreads his wings. That everything's not 666% overdrive all the time ably benefits these ten tracks – and concluding with 10-minute(!) epic in "Templars' Curse" – resulting in a more thoroughly headbanging, maybe-medieval, and immediately memorable listen. And, truth be told, perhaps HELLCRASH's best record yet...but only time will tell.

In the meantime, maniacs for such '90s icons like Zemial and Germany's Desaster or especially such esteemed labelmates as NOCTURNAL, BLACKEVIL, and HEXECUTOR, you're hereby commanded to reap the hellish bounty of HELLCRASH's Inferno Crematörio!

It took just over 40 years for France to finally have its own heavy shock-rock band, ANIMALIZE: a name you may already have seen on some French and German lineup events over the last four years.

"Who do these extroverts think they are, sporting outrageous outfits with harnesses and chains? Brandishing a chainsaw and a katana in the middle of a concert, then vomiting blood all over the audience? Really?!" Yes, really.

Year 2025. ANIMALIZE are back with a new full-length, Verminateur – but this time, entirely in French, at the request of maniacs since their first record, 2020's Tales From the Crypt EP. If their Meat We're Made Of debut album in 2022 showed the visible part of the iceberg, then Verminateur displays the true sound of the band, pushing the boundaries! That celebrated first full-length might've seen the band evince a sort of restless genius – speed metal synthesized with power-thrash and traditional metal into a dizzying-yet-addicting blend, jumping across countries and even continents with insane ease – but on Verminateur, ANIMALIZE lock into a lazer-sighted focus that sees them making good on the anthemic side of things they only hinted at before. Mostly mid-tempo, strutting and cruising with charisma, nearly all of the album's ten tracks (barring a one-minute synthy & cinematic "Invasion" and the dramatic piano piece "Prière de Remords") hit that heavenly balance between buoyant hook and heavy thrust, between rock-god maximalism and back-street mischief. Following 2019's All Veins Blazing debut, with the band's reputation as an uncompromising live act fully established, the power trio of vocalist/guitarist Rat Pitt, drummer Son Stalker, and bassist Cliff Hunger return with the comparably epic For a Few Fixes More. Indeed, with the runtime padded out to 28 minutes, SCUMRIPPER prove they're still able to (quickly) kick out nasty, sewer-drenched jams, but they're also able to get kicking in many more ways than before. Out of the deep void in the far corners of the universe, the entity known as ARMORY was born in the year 2012 C.E. With the guiding light of the fiery stars Judas Priest, Agent Steel, and Slayer, ARMORY set out on a cosmic path delivering hyper-speed metal to every planet, system, and galaxy in their path. Their two first albums, World Peace... Cosmic War (2016) and The Search (2018), were released via High Roller Records, garnering ever greater reviews.

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present PAGAN ALTAR's highly anticipated sixth album, Never Quite Dead, on CD, music cassette and vinyl LP formats.

PAGAN ALTAR are the very definition of a CULT band. Formed in 1978, during the early days of the influential NWOBHM movement, they honed their craft onstage with an eerie, dramatic presentation. And yet, the PAGAN ALTAR sound tended more toward doom metal – which, back then, was not quite yet a subgenre with its own aesthetics – but also infused with their native English folk as well as hard rock. Still, the world outside the UK would not know about the band until years after their dissolution, with the 1998 release of Volume 1, PAGAN ALTAR's debut album recorded in 1982. Thereafter, the cult of PAGAN ALTAR would begin to grow, and a whole new fanbase hungry for old sounds waited for any sign of uncovered gold.

In 2004, treasures aplenty began to appear. First was The Time Lord EP, which dated back to PAGAN ALTAR's very earliest days, and later that year came the full-length Lords of Hypocrisy, whose material was originally recorded during 1982-1984 but was re-recorded in 2004: past to present, the band was indeed active again! A year later, the full-length Judgement of the Dead arrived, featuring material written between 1978 and 1981 and recorded in 1982 but remastered in 1998; a bonus track recorded in 2004 was added, again bringing past to present. Past and present truly collided on 2006's monolithic Mythical & Magical – truly, a perfect description of PAGAN ALTAR at the height of their mesmerizing powers – which featured material spanning 1977-1983 but recorded over the course of 2005 and 2006. Thereafter, only two new songs would emerge for a while – one on a split with Jex Thoth in 2007, the other in 2011 – before, tragically, founding vocalist Terry Jones' death from cancer in 2015. However, before his death and led by his son and co-founding guitarist Alan, the band had been working on another album, which would later be finished and released in 2017 as The Room of Shadows.

Miraculously, The Room of Shadows proved not to be the band's epitaph, as PAGAN ALTAR defy time and return with Never Quite Dead – a "new" record in theory, but one bearing the imprint of the past, particularly with Terry Jones' unmistakable touch. On vocals here is Brendan Radigan, who true metallers will know from Magic Circle, Sumerlands, Savage Oath, and tons more. His somber, ever-so-poignant tones pay reverence to the prevailing PAGAN ALTAR sound whilst putting a distinctive touch upon Never Quite Dead. As Alan Jones details within the album's liner notes, nearly all the songs on the album – barring the closer "Kismet," which came as a precursor to Alan's band Malac's Cross in the early '90s – originated while Terry was still alive, and thus does Never Quite Dead remain an authentically PAGAN ALTAR album. From the Rainbow-rocking opener "Saints and Sinners" on to trad-doom juggernauts like "Liston Church" and "The Dead's Last March" to the emotional climax of the aforementioned "Kismet," pretty much every aspect of PAGAN ALTAR is covered in incredibly compelling fashion...even the folk instrumental "Westbury Express," keeping the mythical & magical alive. Never Quite Dead? You better believe it!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Austria's VENATOR, Psychodrome, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

Forming in 2016, it took VENATOR a while to get going, but when they finally did – it was ON! In 2020, the Austrians released their debut EP, Paradiser, which DYING VICTIMS eventually put on a split LP with the late ANGEL BLADE. Those three songs were an incredibly auspicious first start, showing VENATOR as a band seemingly thawed out from 1983, so authentic and skyward was their songwriting. As the buzz began to build, it came to boil with the band's debut album, Echoes From the Gutter. Released by DYING VICTIMS in early 2022, VENATOR's debut album was everything a first full-length should be: a summation of demo legwork, but an equally concerted strive for new & greater heights. Electricity was positively bristling from every second of the record; stunningly addicting, one anthem after another was doled out in seemingly effortless fashion, showing VENATOR as young masters of melody and moodiness.

Following the release of Echoes From the Gutter, VENATOR made good on their street-level charm by hitting any new stage they could, heavily gigging first with labelmates MEGATON SWORD in 2023 and then with labelmates TOXIKULL last year. That increased charisma spills over into their second album, Psychodrome. Indeed, with a title and cover like that, Psychodrome builds an era-specific atmosphere that's "on brand" for a vintage-savvy band like VENATOR – but such sometimes-superficial moves would all be for naught if they didn't have the SONGS to back them up! And back 'em up, VENATOR do here, showing ever more sides to their sonic arsenal whilst sounding characteristically themselves. Much of LP#2 punches forward to a cruising mid-tempo – fist-shaking, for sure, but never overly speedy – while some other songs dip into tempos both faster and slower. But no matter the speed, VENATOR quickly and compellingly establish mood and almighty MELODY: street level as before, but with that heart-on-sleeve passion that puts this into a realm all its own – one that's authentically mid '80s heavy metal heroism in one sense, but strangely refreshing in another. Frontman Hans Huemer once again rallies the warriors with a performance that's rough and emotive in equal measure, while the rest of his bandmates sharpen their swords with slightly more clarity and spit-shine those godly HOOKS to deadly levels. A lateral development from their almighty debut, then, but another modern classic in the making!

Just like that debut LP, anyone pining for the 1983/'84 peak of the likes of Tokyo Blade, Grim Reaper, OZ, Witch Cross, Heavy Load, and even Judas Priest, here again do you have a band adding to that hallowed lineage rather than plagiarizing it – or perhaps moving the calendar year to 1985, fucking CLASSIC either way. VENATOR command you to enter their Psychodrome!

And when combined with their lyrical themes – from everyday life all the way to the fantasy-inspired, with sometimes both intertwining – the quintet have forged their own path, displaying a sound fitting firmly within the late '70's and early '80s but with an effervescence that feels palpably modern.

Where their second album, 2022's Peace and Conflict, felt like a watershed moment – moving from the "powerful rocker" of their eponymous debut album in 2019 to an emotive, electric, but no-less-earthy sort of NWOBHM – THE RIVEN sound positively poised for another breakthrough with their forthcoming third full-length, Visions of Tomorrow. Presciently titled, Visions of Tomorrow struts and sways with that sort of star quality that can only come from total, utter self-belief...and absolutely stunning songs! The sound is more present and raw then before, ear-effortlessly exuding dynamics lost to most "hard rock" bands. THE RIVEN here offer a sumptuous feast of familiar-yet-fresh heavy rock built on massive HOOKS and HEART. Not for nothing have they become a finely honed ensemble; touring nonstop has been the band's lifeblood for years now, and that tangible sense of magick swirls about each of these 11 anthems. New drummer Elias Jonsson pumps that blood with an almost "laidback urgency," and the rest of THE RIVEN let rip with what they liken more "complete" songwriting: the songs may be shorter than previous ones, but they're undeniably more action-packed and nuanced.

Interestingly, while writing for Visions of Tomorrow was done in Stockholm in late 2023, THE RIVEN was selected for an international studio residency as part of the Swedish national arts association, and the band lived for a few days at the highly prestigious studio Fascination Street in Örebro. The album was mixed and co-produced by Robert Pehrsson. (The Hellacopters, Tribulation, Dead Lord among others). Lyrically, Visions of Tomorrow showcases a band that is frustrated about how the world is run, who's in charge, and what is about to happen to the rest of us. Musically, it showcases a band that can handle their instruments and is willing to explore and go on musical journeys. THE RIVEN themselves claim that this third album is "a fine example of rock 'n' roll being played at its best – it's honest, it's urgent, it's calling you, and it will make you shake your fist and bang your head – all while thinking about where we are and where we are going."

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HEXECUTOR's highly anticipated third album, ...Where Spirit Withers in Its Flesh Constraint, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Formed in 2011, French quartet HEXECUTOR started with a foundation of raw-and-fierce evil old-school speed/thrash metal, as exemplified by their debut demo and Hangman of Roazhon EP from 2012 and 2014, respectively. Thereafter, they slowly-yet-firmly evolved in various directions when they released Poison, Lust and Damnation debut album in 2016, which DYING VICTIMS released on vinyl a year later.

After proving themselves to be a very efficient live act, HEXECUTOR immersed themselves into Breton legends and history, intertwining their music with Breton lore for their second album, 2020's Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge.... Along with being something of a modern classic – amazingly thorough in its conceptual background, boundlessly inventive in its execution – that album proved to be a turning point for the band: a concerted and confident elevation beyond the standard "blackthrash" tropes so prevalent in the modern underground.

As considerable as that accomplishment was, HEXECUTOR are eclipsing it with their third album, delving yet deeper into dark legends and impressive figures from Celtic-Breton lore. Titled ...Where Spirit Withers in Its Flesh Constraint, LP#3 both sonically and elliptically continues where its momentous predecessor left off; not for nothing is the opening song the belated title track "Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge...." Ripping right out of the gates, HEXECUTOR continue their evolution unabated, adding once again to the richness of their music, and this time with songwriting from both their former and new lead guitarists. Their core is still thrash metal, but even just a cursory listen of ...Where Spirit Withers in Its Flesh Constraint reveals that there's few "thrash" records that will sound like this – this year, or the next, or the year after that. Seemingly effortlessly – or, at least, with some strange magick unique to them – HEXECUTOR lurk yonder into realms both black and more traditionally heavy metal, even venturing far afield into some progressives touches. And whereas Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge... carried a huge conceptual weight, the feeling across ...Where Spirit Withers in Its Flesh Constraint is freer and almost airier, despite this still being DARK heavy metal at its core.

Since 2009, LADY BEAST have been flying the flag for refined HEAVY METAL. The band hail from the Steel City of Pittsburgh, forming with firm influences ranging from Motörhead, Dio, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Mercyful Fate. DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HEXENBRETT's highly anticipated second album, Dritte Beschwörung: Dem Teufel eine Tochter, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

It was but May of the cursed year of 2020 when HEXENBRETT truly came into their own with their shockingly masterful debut album, Zweite Beschwörung: Ein Kind zu töten, courtesy of DYING VICTIMS. While the enigmatic duo of Josto Feratu and Scarlettina Bolétte had definitely turned heads with the Erste Beschwörung demo in 2019, their debut album's idiosyncratic kaleidoscope of Varathron, Jean Rollin, Danzig, Goblin, and Van Halen emerged as completely unique and unlike little else around.

Predictably unpredictable, HEXENBRETT returned the following year with Intermezzo dei quattro coltelli nudi, a crazed 'n' crazy EP that was the result of canceled concerts and tours. As suggested by its title, the record was no "beschwörung" but, rather, an intermezzo: for the first time in the then-brief history of HEXENBRETT, this EP did not feature performances by the duo but, instead, the live line-up for 2020 – of course, under the watchful eyes and ears of the clandestine couple. A split EP with fellow Austrian eccentrics Hagzissa followed in 2022, with the duo returning to recorded format.

Josto and Scarlettina continued to refuse playing live but managed to recruit musicians to perform their music on live stages. Their recruits recently finished the IN CONCERTZIONE 2024 European club tour with labelmates DEATHSTORM. During that time, Josto and Scarlettina laid the finishing touches on what would become HEXENBRETT's second album.

Now, at long last, comes that second full-length to eclipse all that came before. Titled Dritte Beschwörung: Dem Teufel eine Tochter, HEXENBRETT's second album is a devilish and drama-filled rollercoaster ride through cult metal and cult cinema alike. Arguably more so than their previous recordings, Dritte Beschwörung: Dem Teufel eine Tochter truly encapsulates their demi-tag of "The Sound of the Bloody Iris," for a wide panoply of sounds and sensations swarm the listener, wrapping them in a wild and bewildering but above all kaleidoscopic headspace that easily avoids simple categorization.


While other bands are usually influenced by heavyweights of heavy metal music like Judas Priest or Bathory, HEXENBRETT take their main inspiration from Euro cult cinema and soundtracks; some of the most important names are Sergio Martino, Jess Franco, Jean Rollin, Bruno Nicolai, and Alessandro Alessandroni. One will readily hear that influence here in the prominent usage of vintage synths as well as chimes – the latter both beautiful and ominous – as readily as one will hear guitar leads that are alternately haunting / heroic. But the salient point is that Dritte Beschwörung: Dem Teufel eine Tochter moves in a most filmic fashion – metallic, sure, but this is far, FAR from your Normal Metal Music.

As such, Dritte Beschwörung: Dem Teufel eine Tochter is an amalgamation of love and hate, and represents the duality of birth and death. Its purpose is to enable listeners to escape; it strangles and stabs the status quo of normality. Normality is surrender – escape with HEXENBRETT!

DVP 312 Pandemic – Phantoms LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Poland's PANDEMIC, Phantoms, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Born from the cold, concrete streets of Krakow, Poland's PANDEMIC are an old-school thrash/speed metal band that have been a rising force in the underground scene since their formation in 2015. Despite facing a rocky start with frequent lineup changes, a founder's death, and periods of inactivity, PANDEMIC found their footing in 2018 with a solid lineup.
Their debut EP, Deaf Nite, dropped in September 2018, serving up four blistering tracks that showcased PANDEMIC's raw power and aggression. Staying true to their roots, they followed up with the single Where The Devil Says Goodnite in 2020, a two-track release. By 2023, the band had finally released their first full-length, Crooked Mirror. PANDEMIC's relentless pace continued with the recording of their second album, Phantoms, in early 2024.

Pushing the boundaries of their sound and further establishing their place in the Polish metal underground, PANDEMIC's second album should surely spread their name across the international metal map. Neither too conveniently classified as thrash nor as speed metal, Phantoms marries thrashing riffs to a dynamic style of metal that indeed speeds from time to time but, more often than not, has the gleaming contours and drama of paradigmatic '80s power-thrash. The deeper one goes into Phantoms, the more he will find PANDEMIC's mastery spread across differing styles of songcraft; while everything coalesces into a unified album experience, each song here maintains its own unique character rather than simply repeating the same formula for eight-plus tracks. Credit for that comes through each member bringing a distinct pedigree to the table, with guitarist Wiktor Łobarzewski also shredding for GALLOWER, fellow six-stringer Marcin Konieczny laying down the riffs for Roadhog, and drummer Filip Worek beating the skins for Horned Cült. Completed by bassist Gniewko Jelski's rough and rowdy but articulate vocals, PANDEMIC are the proverbial well-oiled machine – with oil of '80s vintage, of course!

Hot on the heels of their heralded debut album, Razor Wire – originally self-released in early 2023, but released internationally by DYING VICTIMS later that summer – MEAN MISTREATER return with their second full-length, Do or Die. Their debut served as a declaration of intent, showcasing a sound that is both feral and refined. Rejecting the confines of conventional labels like "female-fronted" or "NWOTHM," MEAN MISTREATER here assert their identity as a powerful collective, committed to pushing the boundaries of traditional heavy metal. With their uncompromising attitude and undeniable skill, they stand out in a crowded genre, ready to carve out their own place in the heavy metal landscape.

The songwriting is largely unchanged on Do or Die – classic metal melded with retro hard rock, with foremost influences being Warlock, Chastain, and early W.A.S.P. – but MEAN MISTREATER's execution is off the charts here. Urgent, passionate, like street-walking cheetahs with hearts full of napalm, the Texas natives fire off one rough 'n' ready anthem after another here, keeping that songwriting short / sharp / shocked. Indeed, it's difficult to find a record this concise – eight songs in 27 minutes – that also feels so complete. It's fair to say, then, that this blazing band is firing on every cylinder as they ascend the traditional metal ladder, leaving audiences hungry for more of their unapologetic sound and intoxicating live shows.

Proving that they're no flash in the pan, with Do or Diedo MEAN MISTREATER continue to build on their early success, delivering the intense and captivating music that fans have come to expect from them.

Finland's degraded fiends SCUMRIPPER are finally back. For almost a decade, they've witnessed the world burn through a sewer hole and felt the slime gather in their burnt-to-a-fuck throats. Now they are ready to rip out your spines with their sophomore album, For a Few Fixes More.

Following 2019's All Veins Blazing debut, with the band's reputation as an uncompromising live act fully established, the power trio of vocalist/guitarist Rat Pitt, drummer Son Stalker, and bassist Cliff Hunger return with the comparably epic For a Few Fixes More. Indeed, with the runtime padded out to 28 minutes, SCUMRIPPER prove they're still able to (quickly) kick out nasty, sewer-drenched jams, but they're also able to get kicking in many more ways than before. Whereas most of the debut album's tracks topped out at two minutes, most of the nine songs here on LP#2 outdistance such a short length, with the penultimate coming in "I Cum Pain," a five-minute menace of haunting, lurking trudge. Likewise, SCUMRIPPER have come to maximize their catchiness of yore, compelling both immediate headbanging and memorability. If anything, such influences as Impetigo, Midnight, and even Negative Approach have asserted themselves more fully on For a Few Fixes More, making for metalpunk that's more street-level – and more unique in an increasingly crowded subgenre.

Just when you thought they may have ended up in the nearest gutter, SCUMRIPPER are performing a long-awaited autopsy with integrity on the modern world. For a Few Fixes More is the crossover album no one saw coming: perfect death-thrashing punk rock for the end times.

Making their public debut with a self-titled demo in early 2024, SINNER RAGE thrust themselves into the present with a sound wholly built on the past: pure and total HEAVY METAL during the genre's '80s heyday. Wasting no time defending the faith, the Spaniards return a full year later with their debut album, Powerstrike.

Truly titled, Powerstrike is an pitch-perfect throwback to the days when heavy metal supremacy were ruled by the likes of Judas Priest, Saxon, Queensrÿche, and Crimson Glory. Moving at a disarmingly relaxed strut, SINNER RAGE convey charisma and simple-yet-assured POWER during every second of this short & sweet tome. The hooks are heavy and headbanging, but the quartet exhibit a keen knack for spacious, almost-atmospheric dynamics; the riffing hits even harder when coming back from those quieter moments, and frontman Aritz Martinez's pipes likewise sound even silkier. Some would simply qualify that as a further (and seamless) extension of old-days metal values, before speed and energy overload took over, and they'd not be wrong.

Whatever way you approach it, Powerstrike will send shivers of déjà vu through every soul who's ever bled for metal, but make no mistake: SINNER RAGE are absolutely authentic to the bone, no matter the calendar year!

Out of the deep void in the far corners of the universe, the entity known as ARMORY was born in the year 2012 C.E. With the guiding light of the fiery stars Judas Priest, Agent Steel, and Slayer, ARMORY set out on a cosmic path delivering hyper-speed metal to every planet, system, and galaxy in their path. Their two first albums, World Peace... Cosmic War (2016) and The Search (2018), were released via High Roller Records, garnering ever greater reviews.

Under the new flag of DYING VICTIMS, ARMORY's third album, Mercurion, was unleashed during the spring of 2022 and followed by a European tour in 2023. This further cemented that ARMORY are a force to be reckoned with on the intergalactic battleground.

ARMORY's upcoming operations are set in motion, and the next chapter starts with the deployment of the two-song EP Black Star in February 2025 C.E. DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present SIGN OF THE JACKAL's highly anticipated third album, Heavy Metal Survivors, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Since 2007, Italy's SIGN OF THE JACKAL have been carrying the torch for traditional, female-fronted HEAVY METAL of an authentically mid '80s vintage. Over the past 15 years, they've played stages all over Europe and delivered two full-lengths – 2013's Mark of the Beast and 2018's DYING VICTIMS-released Breaking the Spell – along with a preceding demo and EP: not too shabby for a band who began, humbly enough, with covers of obscure underground metal songs from the '80s! Naturally, the electric vocals of Laura DemonsQueen are front and center, but SIGN OF THE JACKAL's gleaming chrome pulses with pure mid-'80s speed metal energy, all injected with a heaping helping of classic '70s Italian horror atmosphere.

Now, a too-long six years since their last full-length, SIGN OF THE JACKAL are about to unleash their ultimate statement: Heavy Metal Survivors. The title itself is both a perfect summation of their sound and a loose thematic for the album's post-apocalyptic atmosphere...total '80s-style, of course! Each song is gassed up with enough energy to roam the wasteland for days on end, but what sets SIGN OF THE JACKAL's third album apart from its predecessors is its HOOKS; be it because the more-patient pacing or the space between notes ringing more richly, Heavy Metal Survivors' eight vocal-led tracks retain a catchiness that's so engaging and engrossing, it's not impertinent to suggest that they could've landed on the radio circa 1986...late night, of course! DVP 309 Raptore – Renaissance LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present RAPTORE's highly anticipated third album, Renaissance, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

From their humble beginnings in 2012, RAPTORE have risen to the top of the true metal pack in the intervening decade. The band's roots started with vocalist/guitarist Nico Cattoni, originally hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and his first lineup released their first demo in 2014 and then the debut album Rage N' Fever in 2016, which allowed RAPTORE to tour South America and open for such bands as Exciter and Enforcer. Then, not being able to find suitable musicians for a steady lineup, Nico decides in 2018 to move to Europe in order to give his band better opportunities and recognition. He set base in Barcelona and completed the lineup with three of the most talented musicians in the scene. While they were booked for festivals such as Pyrenean and Trveheim, unfortunately, the pandemic delayed those concerts until 2022. Meanwhile, RAPTORE were brewing their breakthrough record, the full-length Blackfire.  Eventually released during the summer of 2022 through DYING VICTIMS, Blackfire literally EXPLODED with an excitement that simply could not be contained – and the international metal scene took notice.

With the stage thus set, RAPTORE manage to magickally eclipse that feat with their third album, Renaissance. Truly titled, Renaissance is a tour-de-force of classic & classy HEAVY METAL steeped in all the black velvet and neon-lit chrome of the mythical '80s. So authentically rendered and passionately played, so rapturously engaging and dreamily transcendental, so simply AWESOME (and – again – explosive), it would not be remiss to suggest that RAPTORE somehow travelled through time and returned with a lost sacred scroll from 1986 or even 1989. Across its whip-tight nine tracks in 34 minutes, Renaissance spans a wealth of vintage metallic styles – smoothly cruising speed metal, Sunset Strip darkness, hard rock mysticism, juiced-up hair metal – and weaves them into a rich tapestry of moody & melodic metal that's so silky and elegant at every turn, simple aesthetic pigeonholing doesn't apply.

Granted, RAPTORE are very much (and always will be) a metal band above all, but their songwriting and textural coloring have grown impossibly more on Renaissance: by turns, a more "mature" and yet also more "fun" version of themselves. The stained-glass organ & synth intro opens the headspace for the focused eclecticism to follow; there's a brightness to their attack that soon submits to the shadows – not straight-to-the-abyss "darkness," but not peering away from it, either – and the deftly layered, powerfully HUGE production allows RAPTORE's musings to take on an even greater and more personal emotional heft. So, while Renaissance could be likened to the underdog metal that clawed its way onto the radio during the latter half of the '80s, Nico & crew exude a daresay smarter sensibility to their catchier-than-ever anthems.

From masterclass to world class, RAPTORE are breaking the chains of their breakthrough record with that ever-crucial third album. How far Renaissance will go, we can only speculate, but it's not unjust to suggest it stacks alongside other velvet metal classics like Don Dokken's Up From the Ashes, W.A.S.P.'s Inside the Electric Circus, Whitesnake's Slip of the Tongue, Warlock's Triumph and Agony, the more serious moments to Slaughter's Stick It to Ya, or even '80s KISS during theirs – as well as, of course, such cold-steel killers like Judas Priest's Defenders of the Faith and Scorpions' Blackout. Ready for this Renaissance?

DVP 310 High Warden – Astral Iron LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HIGH WARDEN's highly anticipated debut album, Astral Iron, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Münster, Germany's HIGH WARDEN was founded by vocalist / guitarist Alastair van Morgue-Gûl and drummer Sadistic Hammer in 2022. The first sign of life from this self-proclaimed "Morgul Doom Commando" was the demo Land of Stone, released in early 2023 by DYING VICTIMS. Initially hired as a live bassist, Lord Perish joined the band as a full-time member that year.

With their lineup thus set, HIGH WARDEN prepare to ride into battle with their full-length debut, Astral Iron. The title serves as an aesthetic springboard for their idiosyncratic sound. Granted, HIGH WARDEN are influenced by legendary bands like Reverend Bizarre, Doomsword, Bathory, Manilla Road, Pagan Altar, Trouble, and Mercyful Fate, but their version of epic heavy / doom metal is as foreign as it is familiar: Slow Heavy Metal, as they accurately refer to it.

Recorded live, Astral Iron pounds and pulses vibrantly, deploying riffs coursing and crushing barbarically before leaving wide-open spaces in anticipation of that next addicting slash of ancient steel. HIGH WARDEN's tones match their execution – earthen and mossy, grit encasing clarity – and each of the album's five primary tracks ("Burgfrieden" is a hauntingly serene synth interlude that gives way to feedback) lumber forward with epic aplomb and high adventure. The vocals of A. v. Morgue-Gûl are plaintive and poignant, illustrating tales mainly based on individual thoughts but suitably packaged as analogies to various fantasy works (like those of J.R.R. Tolkien), historical events, and legends & myths. Unbelievers only need to hear Astral Iron's closing epic "We Shall Burn at Foreign Shores (The Choice of Achilles)" to witness the blanching power of HIGH WARDEN!

DVP 314 Kvicksilver – Lady Unknown MC

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present KVICKSILVER's striking debut demo, Lady Unknown, on music cassette format.

KVICKSILVER is a Heavy Rock band from Stockholm, Sweden that was formed by guitarist Filip Herder, drummer Benjamin Curman and bassist Mille Lundström in the summer of 2023. In January 2024 singer Martin Klingvall joined the band on vocals and thus KVICKSILVER was complete. Drawing heavily from god-like influences such as Deep Purple, Rainbow, Black Sabbath and many more, the three-track demo evokes an incredibly OLD sounding 70s rock/proto metal vibe which is rarely this authentic. Big things ahead for these four young Swedes!

Hailing from Tampere, VITRIOLIC raise high the iron fist of their homeland's oft-overlooked blackthrash scene. From the paradigmatic likes of Urn and Flame on to the next generation of Evil Angel, Sadokist, and labelmates RAPID, the power-trio of VITRIOLIC have been fighting the metal fight for the past five years. Initially, the band self-released their first couple EPs and a live album, and then made their full-length debut in 2021 with Renegade Ascension via Headsplit. And while some songs from their second album were forecast in demo form the last few years, at last arrives Black Steel Vengeance.

No more perfectly titled, Black Steel Vengeance is VITRIOLIC are at their rowdiest and most powerful. Honed on the live front, Black Steel Vengeance is a ten-track assault of old-school, riff-driven METAL. Black, speed, thrash, separately or all at once: VITRIOLIC let loose and live lawlessly on this 41-minute firestorm. Truly, this album is a testament to the burning underground spirit – theirs, yours, everyone's who believes in Hell's heavy metal – remaining grounded in the dirt of the past but digging up new graves that smell rottenly unfresh. The flag of hate of the original Teutonic Big Three flies proudly here, but VITRIOLIC manage to twist the knife in different-yet-honorable ways. Hailing from Stuttgart, Germany's AXETASY formed in 2020 with influences that belied their young age – namely, the speed metal, thrash, and black metal stalwarts of the '80s. Not for nothing is their furious, stubbornly obscure sound stuck there: while you're busy checking the calendar year, AXETASY have already dragged you into the insane depths of morbid ecstasy!

Now, after a debut and a couple digital singles, AXETASY charge the gates of Hell with their full-length debut, Withering Tides. After the short, scene-setting intro, Withering Tides gallops away into heavy metal heaven with a sound that's strikingly familiar yet somehow unique – strange magick, indeed! The four youngsters of AXETASY soon prove their mettle with a straightforward rush of just-black-enough speed metal dotted with tasty, atmospheric melodies and technically demanding passages. This is not the usual blackthrash trip; rare is it to find a modern band nailing the etched-in-time, Walls of Jericho-era Helloween sound with this much aplomb. As such, the production of Withering Tides totally befits their fun-yet-fiery, dark-but-not-completely chassis: gleaming and clean where it needs to be, and just dirty enough underneath. With minds towards the future and souls rooted in the history of rock, TIME RIFT is the rock 'n' roll time machine the world needs. Formed by Justin Kaye in 2014, with various line ups through the years, the band currently counts in its roster Terrica Catwood on drums (circa 2017) and Domino Monet on vocals (circa 2023). That doomed year of 2020 saw the DYING VICTIMS release of their debut album, Eternal Rock, and after the world re-opened, a plethora of dynamite shows in the American Northwest helped them hone their craft further.

Fast forward to today, and TIME RIFT is poised to kill. Witness their second album, In Flight. Taking influence from not just the greats of Motörhead, Led Zeppelin, The MC5, and Scorpions, but also stalwart singers such as Sinéad O'Connor, Grace Slick, and Doro Pesch, TIME RIFT deftly blend the power of heavy metal with the groove of rock. In Flight sounds so old and fresh simultaneously, you'll continually be checking your calendar for which year it is – in either direction – throughout the album's punchy & powerful 31-minute duration. The arrival of Domino Monet as frontwoman is momentous, as her tough-yet-tender vocals give the band an entirely new dynamic: a swirling cauldron of emotive mid-'70s hard rock and early '80s metal, lean and mean and minimalist but BIGGER than ever. DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present BLACKEVIL's highly anticipated third album, Praise the Communion Fire for the Unhallowed Sacrament, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Bavaria, BLACKEVIL have been forging fire since 2013. Their first demo, appropriately titled Hail the Cult, emerged from the darkness in 2015, auspiciously revealing a razor-sharp and endlessly salacious style of blackthrash. Come BLACKEVIL's debut album, 2017's The Ceremonial Fire, the power-trio up-ratcheted everything: more speed, more hooks, more black, more evil, more of MORE! Still, their breakout moment was yet to come. Under the auspices of DYING VICTIMS, BLACKEVIL released their second album, Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire, in 2020. Here, the duo laid it all on the line, taking their noble roots – most obviously the German thrash Big Three of Sodom, Kreator, and Destruction as well as evil speed metal legends like Razor, Evil Angel, OZ, and Exciter – and assimilating them something that was uniquely their own and yet uniquely and purely HEAVY METAL.

Now, with third album Praise the Communion Fire for the Unhallowed Sacrament, BLACKEVIL take bolder steps into the epic that they only hinted at prior. If its predecessor began to transcend "blackthrash" categorization, Praise the Communion Fire wholly does so, canvassing a wider range of other stylistic sizes – late '90s melodic black metal, same-era blackened death, early '80s epic metal, and even a bit of NWOBHM that preceded that – that altogether result in something that's more unique than ever. The album's runtime of 46 minutes across seven tracks no doubt suggests that turn toward the epic, and the songwriting indeed goes everywhere but still with remarkable focus. Their chops, while thankfully evincing a human touch, support these daring constructs with finesse and a finely honed clarity. Leads and otherwise-more-melodic riffs lead the charge into the battlefield, buttressed by dynamics that are never boisterous for their own sake; rather, they're reigned in, allowing those riffs and rhythms to breathe, thus making the surges of energy all the more exciting. Put another way, BLACKEVIL aren't just another black(ened) metal band flying off the rails, imparting one extreme expression after another: there's actual class and craft at work here, honoring the ancient lore of heavy metal whilst adding to its lexicon. In that sense, the ceremonial reverence they exude truly supports the title Praise the Communion Fire for the Unhallowed Sacrament.

Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire reaped acclaim, but still left BLACKEVIL as a well-kept secret. Again blessed with (un)godly art by the masterful Paolo Girardi, Praise the Communion Fire for the Unhallowed Sacrament should once and for all establish BLACKEVIL as top-tier heavy metal blacksmiths!

DVP 307 Challenger – Force of Nature LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated debut album of Slovenia's CHALLENGER, Force of Nature, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

The idea for Slovenia's CHALLENGER started in the summer of 2016, when Jakob Rejec (ex-VIGILANCE, Ambra) was challenged to play a foodball game with Urban Železnik (SkyEye), and if Urban won, they would form a band together. Unfortunately, they never played the game, but still decided to form a band.

For the first lineup, they invited Blaž Tanšek (Mist, ex-Teleport) to play the bass guitar and Mihaela Žitko (Mist) to join on the drums. Through some jam sessions, the first riffs were made, and in November, the band had their first gig under the name Irön Breed, combining the surnames of Jakob and Urban, with Rejec meaning "breeder" and Železnik meaning "iron." Soon after, they changed their name to CHALLENGER, and Mihaela left her drum duties to Toni Pleško (ex-Teleport, Natt, Đornata). In 2019, they released their first EP Turned to Dust to critical acclaim.

Corona times were not very fruitful for CHALLENGER, but in 2022, they came back with new blood on the bass guitar with Nika Krmelj (Eruption). With her, they finished their debut album and recorded a pre-production demo in the spring of 2023 but had to let her go soon after. The last lineup was formed with Samo Stopar picking up the bass guitar in the summer of 2023, with whom they finished recording their debut album in March 2024.

Now, at long last, that debut album is here: Force of Nature. Aptly titled, CHALLENGER's first full-length draws from a deep well of heavy metal wisdom, and does so with gusto. Their stated influences include Saxon, Iron Maiden, Tank, Rainbow, Judas Priest, Venom, Mercyful Fate, Running Wild, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and the UK's Satan, and verily do CHALLENGER siphon off both the best and most idiosyncratic strains of those legends' DNA and reconfigure them into a travelogue of pathos and bravado. The songwriting across Force of Nature suitably gallops with energy, but the band patiently allow each construct to unfold, retaining a sense of austere grace in the process. The leads are majestic and many; most impart a melancholy seemingly at odds with the jaunty tempos explored, but the sum effect becomes one of steely-eyed stateliness perfectly in line with the album's wider "doomed hero" drama. That CHALLENGER posses impeccable chops – to the man, with actual bass guitar prominent in the soundfield – only make these eight mini-epics gleam that much brighter.

CHALLENGER may unapologetically look the past, but their heavy metal heroism is truly timeless. Behold a true Force of Nature!
