Founded in Hamburg in 2015, FVNERAL FVKK consists entirely of musicians from the city's extreme metal underground. FVNERAL FVKK combine towering, epic doom metal with lyrics exclusively inspired by documented crimes, abuse, and corruption committed by religious institutions throughout history and into the present day.

Following the blasphemous acclaim of their debut EP, 2017's Lecherous Liturgies, and their first full-length sermon, 2019's Carnal Confessions, Germany's most notorious ecclesiastical doom metal congregation emerge once again with a new chapter of sacred obscenity: Indecent Idols. Musically, this equally aptly titled second album serves as a logical continuation of FVNERAL FVKK's established sound: solemn, cathedral-sized riffing, mournful melodies, and crushing heaviness merge with an atmosphere that oscillates between sacred grandeur and utter moral decay. Right from the austere opening choral notes into the senses-swarming chords of the record's first riff, Indecent Idols creates an all-enveloping and alternately dense / spacious experience; one could call it "monastic" if not for the heretical lyricism, but the strident march of it all says everything on its own. Likewise, Cantor Cinaedicus' clean tenor could be considered "heavenly" despite the dark nature of his themes, and the rest of the band's dynamic shifts straddle the line between those heavens and Hell in sweeping fashion.

Influenced by the epic tradition of classic doom metal while embracing an increasingly oppressive and emotional intensity, Indecent Idols expands both the scale and darkness of FVNERAL FVKK's previous works. Amen!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated fourth album of Sweden's ARMORY, Echoes of the Astrolith, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Like a meteor plunging through outer space with one target in mind – Planet Earth – Gothenburg's ARMORY have been launching alien speed metal invasions across the globe since 2012. The fiery stars of Judas Priest, Agent Steel, and Slayer have been their guiding light, but ARMORY have magickally managed to make manifest their own unique, vast world across three albums and last year's Black Star EP.

That EP, while still within the orbit of their characteristic sound, kicked things into overdrive – but with the imminent release of their fourth album, Echoes of the Astrolith, ARMORY truly kick things into an even higher gear. Fans will recognize the arrival of new turbo-laser vocalist C. Rostoff, who immediately makes his presence known. His dynamic & daring pipes rocket all across space here, narrating the dread tales of the album's nine primary tracks ("Omens" is a suitably titled instrumental). DVP 411 STREET JUSTICE – Rules are for Suckers LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present STREET JUSTICE's striking debut album, Rules Are For Suckers, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

After the breakup of Bavaria's SAVAGE—who released an EP and the DYING VICTIMS debut album Glory Riders, both of which were critically acclaimed—former members Pawel Nemkovic and Axel Warrior sought to further revive the era of mean heavy metal. It will now continue under the banner of STREET JUSTICE, and the first fruit of meanness is the band's debut album, Rules Are For Suckers.

Much like SAVAGE's Glory Riders was aptly titled, more so is STREET JUSTICE's Rules Are For Suckers. While the style and attitude remain the same, the songwriting and composition have evolved significantly, culminating in riffs, leads, and hooks rich in variety and authentically rendered by true maniacs: 1980s Los Angeles is well and truly alive here, and powerfully so. Indeed, much like their predecessor, STREET JUSTICE variously recall the likes of classic W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, and early Van Halen. But compared to SAVAGE, STREET JUSTICE amplify the sleaze in their sound, bringing to mind a heavier L.A. Guns during their late '80s prime.

Proving that Rules Are For Suckers, STREET JUSTICE look to an unlikely source for a cover song: Tina Turner's "One of the Living," unforgettably from Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, which is given a suitably heavy (and sleazier) uplift here. More than that, this cover choice underlines the wasteland theme running through the album, from both the percolating pulse of the riffing to the wide-open atmosphere across the record's nine tracks. Imagine L.A. Guns' "Electric Gypsy" video with Mad Max warlords riding fast and free, and you're getting close to the experience of STREET JUSTICE.

Heightening that atmosphere—and, especially, the heaviness—is the technical collaboration with TYRAN's Sergej Dukart. Together, both band and producer reach a new level of clarity and depth on Rules Are For Suckers, bringing a larger-than-life aspect to STREET JUSTICE's "spacious heaviness." Imagine a modern analogue to W.A.S.P.'s Inside the Electric Circus: this record is literally HUGE.

Before Marcel Riedel of Surturian joined STREET JUSTICE as their permanent drummer, the drum tracks for Rules Are For Suckers were recorded by Tobias Kasper of Sweeping Death. With this new lineup and the album in tow, STREET JUSTICE will continue to rock the stage and present their music exactly as it should be: MEAN HEAVY METAL!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present Bloodsurge, a special split mini-album between DET and CRITICAL DEFIANCE, on CD and 12" vinyl formats.

Set to coincide with a joint tour this autumn, Bloodsurge pairs together two fierce & fiery forces from both the north and south: Finland's DET and Chile's CRITICAL DEFIANCE. DET are up first with three brand-new tracks that further prove why the power-trio are a "Destructive Elite Terror." Taking shape during the spring of this year, DET's vision here was to continue down the same vicious, chaotic path that their DYING VICTIMS debut album had laid out, "but we wanted to tighten the screws even further." And that tightening is indeed deliciously painful! Rounding out their offering is a suitably rowdy & evil live version of early demo banger "Death Knight," recorded at the Catalonia Extreme Gathering festival in Spain earlier this year.

CRITICAL DEFIANCE also offer three brand-new tracks plus an acoustic instrumental. As always, the Chilean thrashers go right for the throat, wasting no time with their razor-sharp & ripping attack. "These creations were not originally conceived to coexist," state the band, "yet this split provided the exact space they needed to acquire a shared identity – technical execution, acoustic contrast, the exploration of darker and more extreme territories, and the overwhelming drive of thrash metal in its most violent form." DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present MIDNIGHT PREY's highly anticipated second album, Jenseitsritt, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

It's been a not-very-long but very strange trip for Germany's MIDNIGHT PREY. Formed in 2012 in the Black Forest but eventually moving to Hamburg in 2015, the power-trio toiled away for their first decade until the release of 2019's Uncertain Times. Indeed aptly titled, MIDNIGHT PREY's debut album became something of a modern classic with its never-belabored, effortlessly cool mix of '70s hard rock, '80s traditional metal, and classic punk and speed metal. Then, in that cursed year of 2020, the band called it quits...for a couple years. Thankfully, when they returned in 2023, with the Black Cat / Sword and Shield EP (reprised on the Gathered Under Open Skies split with fellow Teutonic labelmates FIRMAMENT), all was good: MIDNIGHT PREY had not lost one step, and were more poignant than ever.

And that poignancy perhaps reaches its apotheosis with their long-awaited second album, Jenseitsritt. Here, MIDNIGHT PREY don't sound all that removed from their past – a clean-yet-dirty surge that's equal parts punk, rock, and metal – but it's all the little details that then add up to the overarching work that make Jenseitsritt such a unique and incredibly engaging listen. That (uniquely) kinda-clean tone the trio use is somehow more ethereal and heartstrings-pulling here, each strum and note-bend ringing resoundingly straight into the listener's soul. And yet, MIDNIGHT PREY rhythmically sound more restless across the seven-song / 37-minute album, their raw energy bubbling over into feral, unfiltered passion; Jenseitsritt is an album you quite literally FEEL. Maybe it's an increasingly accurate reflection of their wild, sweat-soaked live show, or maybe it's all those years spent away from the full-length front, but the electricity coursing through them carries a potent amount of urgency, and their melodies bend and break and rebuild in suitably breathless fashion. And yet...Jenseitsritt almost feels...relaxing in its poetic flow. One of the most unassumingly unique bands around have gotten even better: MIDNIGHT PREY return with impossible splendor and unbridled fervor!

DVP 404 Critical Defiance – Rivers of Blood LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present CRITICAL DEFIANCE's highly anticipated fourth album, Rivers of Blood, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Formed in 2010, Chile's CRITICIAL DEFIANCE have become a dependably hateful thrash metal force. Built on speed, aggression, and technical precision, the band channel the violent spirit of old-school thrash metal through sharp riffing, restless structures, and a raw South American intensity. To date, their three albums – 2019's Misconception, 2022's No Life Forms, and 2024's The Search Won't Fall – have cemented the Valparaíso natives' place in the underground.

Now, CRITICAL DEFIANCE come storming out of the underground and return with their fourth full-length, Rivers of Blood. Compact, direct, and destructive, the eight-song / 32-minute album displays the band at their most focused, combining fast thrash metal violence with darker atmospheres, instrumental tension and a stronger sense of dramatic progression. All of this is heightened by Sebastián Palominos' clear & cutting production, which thankfully also retains an organic immediacy.

Central to the success of Rivers of Blood is its sequencing. "Red Omen" works as an ominous opening; "Innate to Kill" starts the first attack; "The Feeling Destroyer" showcases CRITICAL DEFIANCE's technique and compositional work; and "Rivers of Blood" lands with a slower form of thrash metal and liberating lyrics. "Valparaíso" opens Side B as the longest and most distinctive piece on the record, connecting the band's violence with the blood, memory, and decay of their own city. The second half of the album then moves from the intensity and darkness of "Dead Tongues" into the short instrumental passage "Ceremony of the Final Call," before closing with "Glorify War," a direct final attack that reinforces the tone of Rivers of Blood: violent, hateful, and destructive.

Rivers of Blood is not a nostalgic revival record. It is CRITICAL DEFIANCE sharpening their own language: violent, fast, hateful, dark, and restless thrash metal from the Chilean underground.

DVP 405 Watcher – Mistress of our Time LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Sweden's WATCHER, Mistress of Our Time, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Sweden, WATCHER was formed in 2023 by singer Viktor Gustafsson, initially as a one-man band. With Gustafsson handling everything, two recordings resulted in 2024: the rough 'n' ready debut album Key to the Unbreachable and the similarly styled EP Glory or Agony, which was released early the next year. Truer than true, these two recordings presented WATCHER as skillful disciples of first-wave Swedish heavy metal. In late 2024, guitarist Max Warnby and drummer Jakob Nilsson joined forces with Gustafsson, and WATCHER released a second EP, Chains of Crystal, in the spring of 2025 and soon afterwards played Muskelrock. In late 2025, second guitarist Timmy Lindgren joined the band, and the recording of a new full-length began.

If Chains of Crystal hinted at the fantasy-cloaked adrenaline that could flow through WATCHER's veins with a fuller lineup, then Mistress of Our Time takes that proposition to a big, velvety boil. Thankfully, the ingredients are pretty much the same – said first-wave-Sweden legends like Heavy Load, Gotham City, Axewitch, Torch, and even Hot Records-era Europe along with the equally cult likes of Ostrogoth, Grim Reaper, and Sortilège – but where previous WATCHER recordings aimed to take the listener back to 1984, Mistress of Our Time truly does time-travel there with some unique, mystical magick. Energy, hooks, and atmosphere are all in harmonious lockstep here (with the emphasis on ENERGY), and the quartet gallop into the fray with triumphant poise and copious power. Unlike the oncoming thrash era, though, WATCHER wisely don't try win the speed stakes; their swords & sorcery-bound anthems simply don't need that. Authenticity is the riddle of steel they've mastered, by Crom.

If WATCHER's goal has always been to keep the old heavy metal spirit alive, then Mistress of Our Time captures it with pinpoint poignancy!

DVP 407 Ludgar – Violent Visions LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated debut album of Austria's LUDGAR, Violent Visions, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Let's get it out of the way: LUDGAR is originally an abbreviated word for Loup de guerre ("war wolf"), describing what was one of the largest trebuchet – or catapult, if you will – used in medieval times. We're basically talking about one giant destructive force used to crush opponents and villages alike, and it's quite a fitting analogy for what the band LUDGAR stand for.

Formed in 2024 in a dungeon in Linz, Austria by DEATH RACER guitarist S. Bruckner (here on bass) and VENATOR drummer J. Steidl alongside L. Höller on vocals and S. Bolda (also in Zepter) on guitar, this new outfit is deeply entrenched in the '80s yet refuses to label their music with the cliché "everyone brought to the table their own influences." One thing was made clear, though: the result had to be rough and brutal. And their first demo, 2024's Molochian Rites, was indeed rough-as-fuck.

So, what do the Austrians do? Make a debut album that's rougher-than-fuck! Enter Violent Visions, a record as fittingly titled as their moniker itself. Right from the beginning, you know you're treading on pure METAL: unfiltered, raw, and explosive (and, of course, deeply entrenched in the '80s). Dungeonic in atmosphere and breathless in urgency, these Violent Visions will draw parallels to Hellfire's Dominion-era Desaster, now-labelmates WITCHING HOUR, or a more blackened version of Hellish Crossfire, but the truth is that LUDGAR roar from a deeper and more malevolent pit – nay, DUNGEON – where all light is shun. To liken the album to "blackthrash" would be grossly missing the point, however; the usual tropes are NOT invoked, and the atmosphere and attendant sensations – unclean and unhallowed, lawless and lusting, a delirium that's devilish and addicting – elevate LUDGAR into such esteemed company as much as the songs themselves. More than anything, there's a true sense of danger that's been sorely missing for, well, forever. Open your eyes to Violent Visions!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present RAPID's highly anticipated debut album, Enter the Realm of Fire, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

It was but 2022 when RAPID released their debut mini-album, Blackstar Oppression Regime, via DYING VICTIMS. Here, the Finnish power-trio had sharpened their sound into something compelling and uncategorizable. The urgency of hardcore punk, the hook-oriented propulsion of speed metal, and the spidery aura of old-wave black metal all collided into something that was electric the second you pressed "play." Subtly unique, Blackstar Oppression Regime also suggested that RAPID had ever more in their tank.

Now, RAPID unload their fullest arsenal with the debut album Enter the Realm of Fire. Arriving over a decade since their original formation, this first full-length displays the patience and hard graft that should come with a band's debut album – one gauntlet grasping their foundational past, and a hand on the torch for the future. Indeed, that mini-album sported some lead lines that could've come from classic deathrock, but on Enter the Realm of Fire, they're in full bloom, connecting the dots from turn-of-the-'80s heavy metal to contemporaneous underground rumblings that should be immediately apparent to only true believers. That the hot-rockin' takes precedence in RAPID's current attack doesn't make their ancient musings any less urgent; rather, these more flowing and delayed-gratification constructions serve songwriting that's stronger overall and more charismatic than ever. To that, bassist Vincent Revenge's vocals have become both clearer and grimier, approximating an off-the-rails crypt-keeper narrating nefarious deeds; simply witness the epic closing title track for ghoulishly poignant proof. Or, really, dispense with the fancy words, Enter the Realm of Fire, and be mesmerized by RAPID's olde-worlde metal anarchy!

DVP 398 Deceptor – Reign of Terror LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated debut album of North Carolina's DECEPTOR, Reign of Terror, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Raleigh, DECEPTOR are death / thrash trio driven by the underground movement of 1988-1992. The band's led by vocalist / bassist Gabriel Earley, who is responsible for writing music and lyrics, graphic design, and production / mixing / mastering. A self-taught musician, Earley started DECEPTOR in his bedroom, largely crediting the band's creation to hearing the stories of bands like Anthrax and Metallica getting their start from Jon Zazula's influence and belief in their potential/success. Jon died shortly before Earley began taking the idea of starting a band more seriously, and eventually, he found some musicians to make that idea come to life. The lineup coalesced when guitarist Preston Lanier joined in June 2022 after Earley approached him at an Exodus show with a copy of DECEPTOR's first demo, Bound by Ritual; then, in October of that year, drummer Andrew Harper joined the band after witnessing their performance at a DIY house show. Together, the power-trio released the Bathed in Blood EP in 2023 and, the following year, the "Street General" digital single – both recordings setting the stage for their inevitable debut album.

Titled Reign of Terror, DECEPTOR's debut album is tour de force of classic deathrash, firmly (and authentically) situated between those years of 1988 and 1992. With influences ranging from old Sepultura, Whiplash, and Protector on the thrashier end of things to Viogression, Ripping Corpse, and early Gorguts on the deathlier – and then Coroner, squarely in between – DECEPTOR construct mind-melting labyrinths across the ten-song / 33-minute record. Speed is always front and center here, but effectively shifts gears from gallop to one-two blast to overdrive and plenty more in between. Likewise, the riffing of Lanier spans the blunt & barbarian to technical terror, effectively instilling both aggression and tension in their surprisingly dynamic songwriting. Earley's bass work adds especial heft to their skulking breakdowns, which could almost be a record in themselves, so ever-present and compelling as they are. And Harper delivers a performance that his hero Gene Hoglan would've loved; one could say his violent acrobatics Leave Scars. Perhaps what's most salient – beyond the era-authentic songwriting, that is – is the production on Reign of Terror, which sounds both throwback and refreshing, humidly raw and yet exceptionally finessed. Completed by Earley's '91-vintage death-growls – again, just the right amount of reverb here – DECEPTOR's first full-length stands as a reverential reinvigoration of archaic powers.

Whilst not ditching the blackthrashing mania of Beastiality entirely, TERATUM here conjure a sulfurous storm that runs parallel to their belligerent predecessor, asserting an iron-fisted identity all their own. Indeed, the thrashing is violent, but the BLACK deepens into a malodorous void. Spidery leads instill a sense of the ancient, and songwriting runs from the murderously swift to the moonlit entranced. No influences need be known, but rest assured that they're OLD – and that Ordnance of Spiritual Warfare actually brings something new to the idiom.

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the long-awaited debut album of Italy's INTO DARKNESS, Route to the Other Side, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Italy's INTODARKNESS have been a work in progress since their formation in 2011. Led by vocalist / guitarist Doomed Warrior from the very beginning, the band released a handful of demos, a couple splits, and a couple EPs during their first decade of existence. While all short-lengths, they certainly did not lack in quality. As time (and lineups) went on, INTO DARKNESS' primary influences – equally early Asphyx and Soulburn, Pentacle, Sinister, Gorefest, Dead Head, Phlebotomized, Acrostichon, and Thanatos among others – came more sharply into focus, aligning reverently within old-school Dutch death metal in style but with a unique lyrical focus: divulgative astronomy. Not astrology, not sci-fi, no Lovecraft – only and specifically divulgative astronomy, maybe poetically but definitely realistically.

Now, at long last, INTO DARKNESS are prepared to unleash their debut album. Tellingly titled Route to the Outer Side, the Italians' first full-length is a concept record about the outer solar system, which still considers Pluto as a planet and also includes Halley's Comet. As a power-trio, they unload a twisted, hulking mass of DEATH METAL – dark, doomed, but not without a special spark of astral atmosphere. Mind you, INTO DARKNESS still don't do "sci-fi" or "spacey" death metal; rather, the sweeping songwriting that overtakes the listener with an energetic-yet-patient pace spells out in subtler terms the band's lyrical conceits. Put another way, they show you rather than tell you about the vast, ominous majesty of space, leaving behind cliché sonic signifiers in favor of timeless death metal songcraft. Nevertheless, the trio possess prodigious chops, and are unafraid to often put them in service of the song – but when framed within the album's powerful & professional production, it all feels exceptionally organic and far from flashy.

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present JORDSJØ's highly anticipated new album, Pestkrønikene, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

JORDSJØ released their first tape in 2015. With the fourth tape, 2017's Jord, the band got a wider audience outside their native Norway and subsequently released full-lengths on such labels as Karisma, Pancromatic, and Apollon. The band works as a duo in the studio, but for the last eight years, they have played live as a quintet. JORDSJØ are led by multi-instrumentalist Håkon Oftung, who has been a part of Oslo's psychedelic, progressive, and heavy rock undergrounds for many years, and has played in Black Magic, Tusmørke, The Chronicles of Father Robin, Wobbler, Zenon, and labelmates FLIGHT to mention but a few. He's joined by longtime companion and childhood friend Kristian Frøland, who plays drums and percussion, and also produced and mixed Pestkrønikene.

Pestkrønikene is a part of JORDSJØ's 10-year anniversary, and their ninth release overall. The record started out as a compilation of studio outtakes from 2020-2025, but then took on a form of its own, with the songs linked together thematically. Lyrically, those themes reflect war, upheaval, the fall of kings and the rise of a new dawn, and cults and sects. Sonically, Pestkrønikene encapsulates the JORDSJØ experience as well as extends beyond it. Mythical and magickal, the album honors the band's background in hard rock and heavy metal, and combines this with their own analog and organic blend of progressive / psychedelic folk rock. To say that band and record, both in general, blend '70s heavy rock like Deep Purple, Rush, and Ashbury with the progressive landscapes of Gentle Giant, Høst, and Landberk somewhat undersells JORDSJØ's particular headspace. The soothingly otherworldly atmosphere sounds incredibly era-authentic but, more so, exists in a parallel universe worth revisiting over and over again; truly, new details and vistas open up with each spin, even with the soundfield being lushly Spartan. To make that anniversary all the sweeter, JORDSJØ are here joined by a few amazing guests: Jon Henriksen from Black Magic, Kristian Valbo from Obliteration / Aura Noir, and Andreas Prestmo and Lars Fredrik Frøislie from Wobbler. Succinct yet deceptively expansive at just 36 minutes, Pestkrønikene is a generous feast of fantastical, extra-dimensional exploration. While not "heavy" in the usual DYING VICTIMS sense, JORDSJØ honor the old ways – handmade, honest, even heroic.

DVP 394 TORPOR – Ɖungeon Ɖescent LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated debut album of Poland's TORPOR, Ɖungeon Ɖescent, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

TORPOR were formed in Warsaw by three school friends and music fans under the huge influence of Bathory. While recording their first release, Burning Realms / Behold the Spell of Black Fortress, in dusk of 2017, the band were laying their music foundations inspired by the epic side of black and the haunted / melancholic side of early '80s heavy metal.

Since their last release – 2021's The Ancient Tales EP, which was actually recorded in 2019 – TORPOR parted ways with their drummer, who alongside Mike Magister I.V. and Franciszek Archont, was a founding member of the trio. Upon the arrival of a new drummer and long-time friend, Bloodhammer, they recorded their debut album. It marks the result of their work and path undertaken.

"We knew it was our direction to follow and polish, so now, after some time, we can happily present our debut album, Ɖungeon Ɖescent," the band state. "It is our first real record that pictures our vision exactly how we liked to. After years of wandering around basement rehearsal rooms and two self-released demos, we are finally coming out of our lairs with this LP under the banners of DYING VICTIMS."

Their past connections with fellow labelmates ARMAGH and FUKKIN' VENGEANCE somewhat explains TORPOR's link to the idiosyncratic side of ancient heavy metal, which has taken far more prominence on Ɖungeon Ɖescent over the first-wave black metal side – but that's only part of the picture. Some might call it "cleaning up," others might liken it to a harnessing of feral energies, but TORPOR's emphatic-yet-stoic strut conveys equal amounts of energy and mystery, finesse and fine-tuning. Of course, the power-trio can kick into high gear when they want to, be it heroic gallop or even hypnotic blast, but their sense of movement from one moody segment to the next imparts a narrative flow that's part and parcel of their lyrical imagery. Or, perhaps it's true swords & sorcery metal without belaboring the point – no "COOL IMAGERY DUDE" without the music & atmosphere to back it up, more specifically – that harkens to a glorious, sadly bygone era.

Formed in 2008, Germany's IRON KOBRA began with a noble mission: to bring heavy metal back to its unpolished, rough, and weird roots. Released in 2019 via DYING VICTIMS, AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR's Havoc at the Midnight Hour debut album introduced this British power-trio with no small amount of sleazy, Satanic fanfare. While their background may jointly lie in black metal, the three un-gentlemen of AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR held high heavy metal done the ancient way: classic Tank, early Raven, Warfare, and of course the almighty Venom as well as modern torchbearers like Midnight, Whipstriker, and Power From Hell. Truly titled once again, Come Creeping Fiends comprises nine tracks of heavy metal for the insane, forged in the Manchester morgue. Raging like a ravenous beast, summoning ancient ones, and agonizing with morbid doom, AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR cover a lot of ground here, but like the rotting undead that inspired it, this second album somehow holds together. The same black magic that made Havoc at the Midnight Hour a highlight six(-six-six) years ago is here again, only this time with a higher kill count and hit rate. Cleaner and crisper in execution but somehow darker and dirtier in its content, Come Creeping Fiends offers highlights at every crooked turn; tunes like "Strange Companion," "Fiend in You," and lead track "Dead Undead" will have all the witches dancing. MIDRYASI'S KULT are revolutionary and uncompromised. Featuring veterans from such Italian doom stalwarts as Doomsword, Midryasi, Agarthi, and Fiurach, their unique blend of elements from the NWOBHM, doom metal, and early black metal – all fused in their distinctive national dark-sound tradition, which includes such cult legends as Black Hole and Death SS – results in an obscure, hypnotic, and exciting formula.

Truly titled, Italian Dark Sound is an intoxicating spelunk into catacombs both idiosyncratic and indefinable. In fact, if one were to single out an aspect between the demo and album, it's that MIDYRASI'S KULT exude more energy on this full-length without sacrificing any of their occult aura. But, just like that demo, Italian Dark Sound features supremely pro production – gritty, earthy, and yet kaleidoscopic in texture – under the guidance of Gabry "The Way" Strada, head of RDF Studio and who's now collaborating on the upcoming Doomsword new album. DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated fourth album of Germany's WITCHING HOUR, Descending... Where Time Has Ceased to Exist, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

It's been a long, strange trip for WITCHING HOUR. Formed in 2006 in the southwest of Germany, the band's earliest work tended toward paradigmatic blackthrash, particularly the Teutonic iteration of it. And while releases have been patiently sparse during that time, they've been of uniformly high quality, all leading up to 2018's pivotal third album, ...And Silent Grief Shadows the Passing Moon. Here, WITCHING HOUR staked their claim as some of thrash metal's strongest songwriters with a narrative flow that was almost dream-like and a sound quite elevated from their humble beginnings. A career highpoint, to be sure, but silence then ensued...

So it goes with WITCHING HOUR, patience is rewarded with their long-awaited fourth album, Descending... Where Time Has Ceased to Exist. Much like its towering predecessor, Descending... comprises five epic tracks (plus instrumental intro) and, this time, exceeds the length by two minutes for a total of 44: a journey indeed awaits. In fact, the band recorded, mixed, and mastered the album at Journey into Eternity Studios, which is owned by drummer Sascha Bastian.

Ancient metal mysticism is the atmosphere that cloaks WITCHING HOUR's fourth album like ethereal chainmail. The grit of its predecessor has been slightly shined to a rustic gleam, of sorts, as the songwriting suitably grows more diversified and complex – and, even more uniquely, possessing a paradox of density and spaciousness. As each composition winds and wends on paths that are alternately mysterious, gloomy, and triumphant, the power-trio gallop with a confidence that's compelling to the extreme; the narrative flow is more fluid than ever, drawing the listener deeper into the all-encompassing experience. That their riffing has grown even more (gloomily) melodic and the leads burn brighter than before simply underlines the band's traditional metal foundations, particularly that of the NWOBHM.

To summarize and say that Descending... Where Time Has Ceased to Exist marries prog-rock structures to ancient heavy metal riffing & melody and draped in the atmosphere of pioneering German thrash and earliest black metal only explains half the brilliance of WITCHING HOUR at this juncture – but it'll perhaps encourage you to begin that journey!

FABLE started as a solo-project by Jose Soler (Phantom Spell, Chantrice) influenced by '70s and '80s hard rock and heavy metal – a list as varied and idiosyncratic as Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Pagan Altar, Ashbury, and Hällas – along with hints of old US metal. Duly girded, the band bring forth their public debut, Long Hath the Night Dwelt.

An actually-narrated prelude sets the stage for a cautionary tale about class struggle and revolution, FABLE indeed using fables and stories as a medium to tell an expansive story of the woodsfolk dominated under the iron claw of "The Owl." Despite that, the band's debut EP is exceptionally compact at five tracks in 22 minutes, moving with a simmering patience that's heavy on mood and dynamic in its restraint. Never overdriven nor busy, warm and intimate but with a psychic distance that seems impossibly ancient, FABLE very much evoke the perhaps-centuries-old folklore that seems so central to their rustic rock; the wise-sage vocals almost seem an afterthought when the narrative flow of the music starts winding and wending like smoke from a tavern fireplace, so illustrative is its hushed power. However, each element here is equally important, and all work together to form a totality that's unfussy but hewn with class and care.

Hailing from Belgium, SHEWOLFF emerged from the underground as a solo-project of K. Von Shewolff, which eventually formed into the solid three-piece band it is today. They find their origins in raw, punk-driven blackness galore, faithfully returning to the old-school spirit of making music by modest and primitive means. A five-song digital-only demo was released in 2023 – songs which contain absolute fury towards the known and long-overdue established order, existential live-or-die sentiment, and a small tribute paid to the old-school believers who came before them.

Now, SHEWOLFF blend all that together on the debut mini-album We're All Gonna Fukking Die. With six new tracks pushing towards a final and inevitable end, this bleakly titled record is actually invigorating and inspiring: railing against the dying of the light with a paradoxically dark metalpunk sound, familiar in its stomping swagger but exuding cantankerous charisma that's all their own. The aesthetic signposts are planted firmly in the ground – think Hellhammer, pre-Viking Bathory, Darkthrone's record-nerd era, early Midnight, the almighty Venom, or even labelmates like KARLOFF, HELLCRASH, and Germany's LUCIFUGE – but SHEWOLFF manage to stir some diabolical little twists into the bubbling brew, with K. DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HARROWED's highly anticipated debut album, The Eternal Hunger, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

HARROWED are a maggot-ridden death metal band from the Stockholm sewers. Rising from the hallowed ashes of Swedish death metal outliers Morbus Chron, the band comes as the creation of vocalist / drummer Adam Lindmark, who has teamed up with guitarist Tobias Alpadie (VAK, ghost department of Tribulation). A demo and subsequent split arrived in 2021 and '22, respectively, setting forth HARROWED's harrowing foundation: classic Autopsy, Entombed, Obituary, and Death Strike "funneled through a garbage disposal," accurately stated Adolf Vondkra of Tones of Decay festival.

The time has now come for HARROWED to make their full-length debut with The Eternal Hunger. Sharper but not without their signature stench, The Eternal Hunger sees the duo offering a more nuanced listening experience – but don't think for a second they've gone soft! Surely, HARROWED have gestated into a twisted mass of putrid filth, incorporating elements of old-school American and Scandinavian death metal, a lethal dose of punk riffage, and mind-bending weirdness (and even some shattered shards of skewed melody, if we're counting). The songwriting on The Eternal Hunger thusly exhibits more variety both in the micro and macro, with each of these eight tracks possessing the potential to rupture ear drums, crack skulls, and have you plunge head-first while maniacally screaming into the darkened abyss of crushing riffs, doomsday drumming, and nightmarish horrors.... The production on the album is stellar, as HARROWED teamed up with Robert Pehrsson (Death Breath, ex-Runemagick) in his Studio Humbucker during the summer of 2025 and created an authentically physical sound that's clear and concise whilst keeping a vintage raw edge. As such, The Eternal Hunger stays true to the original spirit of death metal without being yet another washed-out-copy of the HM2-sound. The album also features musical guest appearances from Nicke Andersson (Entombed, Death Breath) and Scott Carlson (Repulsion, Death Breath), among others, so you can bet this stuff is the real deal.

Born from tragedy, BURNING PATH is the continuation of Chile's beloved heavy metal heroes LUCIFER'S HAMMER. In late December 2024, founding member Andre Adasme, AKA Hades, was murdered by a stranger. His brother Rodrigo, AKA Titan, had a difficult task ahead of him. But eventually, Titan decided to keep Andre's legacy alive along with longtime guitarist Hypnos, and BURNING PATH was (re)born. Titan decided to retire the LUCIFER'S HAMMER moniker "because there is no other who can replace my brother's leading role and character, who will forever be the signature of LUCIFER'S HAMMER music."

However, those whose hearts keep it true will be thrilled to hear the direction of BURNING PATH – "the same traditional heavy metal essence that has been our call for the last 13 years playing with LUCIFER'S HAMMER," Titan humbly states. Witness the band's "debut" full-length, Burning Path. With absolutely accurate artwork gloriously adoring its cover, BURNING PATH's self-titled debut picks right up where 2024's Be and Exist left off: like an iron fist lined with velvet, a deceptively silky surge that drives deepest into the heart of mid '80s metal. Hailing from Gießen, Germany's LYNX formed in 2020 and promptly released their first single, Grey Man, on 7" vinyl that same year. The following year, the band released their debut album, Watcher of Skies, on the well-regarded No Remorse Records. The record received due acclaim for its modern recasting of '70s hard rock in the orbit of Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, and Blue Öyster Cult.

Of especial note was the addition of Amy Zine in 2022 as vocalist and synth player, expanding LYNX to a quintet. In 2025, original vocalist & guitarist Marvin Kiefer left the band, and one Janni (Eyemaster, ex-Speedbreaker) joined as vocalist & guitarist. In November of that year, the band entered Fat & Holy Studio to record their second full-length.

Recorded live, Trinity of Suns is the "now" sound of LYNX – and one that's still authentically, powerfully old. That addition of Zine has proven fruitful, for she takes on the majority of the vocals across the album, giving the record a tender-yet-tough touch that deepens the quintet's already estimable dynamics. To that, LYNX focused on expanding their strengths – longer tracks, more varied songwriting, and nuanced arrangements – rendering Trinity of Suns a kaleidoscopic song cycle steeped in the '70s. For sure, they can still rock as hard as anyone, but with increasingly deft pacing – both in when to pull back (and push forward) as well more-emphatic folk embellishments – the moody emotion that's been simmering in the LYNX sound all along truly takes flight. The shift from Marvin to Amy, coupled with the decision to record live, gives Trinity of Suns a remarkably fresh touch.

WHIRLWIND was originally conceived as a studio-project by Mark Wild, from Körgull The Exterminator among other extreme metal bands, to satisfy his will to make a classic heavy metal album, a style that changed his life during his childhood – influenced mostly by '80s German metal bands like early Running Wild, early Helloween, Accept, Heaven's Gate, Gravestone, Tyrant, Grave Digger, Steeler, and Stormwitch among others, but also all kinds of classic heavy metal like Mercyful Fate, Manowar, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest.

In 2022, WHIRLWIND released their debut album, 1714, marking the band's beginning. WHIRLWIND also established a live lineup to bring their songs to life onstage, with musicians from other known bands, like Redshark, joining as permanent members of the band. Truer than true, Italy's BARBARIAN have almost become a subgenre unto themselves during the past 16 years. Although, let there be no confusion: BARBARIAN are HEAVY METAL. A power-trio of not just metal maniacs but actual MUSIC maniacs, of all persuasions, BARBARIAN integrate all kinds of crude-yet-refined DNA into their particular palette, almost effortlessly resulting in something that's dieharder than anything around and yet elevating heavy metal to an artform worthy of the fanciest museum. Or, quite the opposite: denim and leather, spikes and chains, swords and sorcery, ugly men and beautiful women, each dawn they die... Either way, to experience BARBARIAN is to imbibe the essence of heavy metal, infused with personality and panache, killing with power and charisma. Posers don't need to leave the hall because they wouldn't be able read the map to it in the first place.

Now, following a trio of hailed albums for Hells Headbangers – Cult of the Empty Grave (2016), To No God Shall I Kneel (2019), and Viperface (2022) – BARBARIAN join forces with longtime fans DYING VICTIMS for the Italians' sixth full-length, Reek of God. Like clockwork, it's another three years between albums, and BARBARIAN deliver the goods. And yet, this is also a new chapter in their series: "retrogarde metal," chronologically after "total metal," "absolute metal," "obtuse metal," and "regressive metal." As such (and in possession of exactly 98 riffs in 35 minutes), the ten central songs comprising Reek of God are shorter and more to-the-point but basically with no classic rock structure of verse / chorus. BARBARIAN's characteristic sound – in the simplest of terms, raw speed and epic metal meets even rawer proto-extreme metal – has here been enriched with a vein close to mid '80s death metal and even metal-tinged punk, but with a flow of tempo-changes and riffs to be found only in late '80s / early '90s developments of extreme metal. BARBARIAN are nothing if not studious acolytes; they know their shit, and then make records about it.

Still, Reek of God has its own surprises. Of course, the album's lyrics strike at everything that is religious. But special mention must be made for "Shit He Forgives," which is based on the lyrics of "Reality Asylum" by anarcho-punk pioneers Crass, and "Crossburn," which is a political statement that places the band on the opposite side of the spectrum regarding the KKK connection the title might suggest. Deepening the record-nerd'dom, the album's "Warning" intro is a take on the Ice-T intro of the same name on the legendary rapper's Home Invasion album from 1993. Likewise, BARBARIAN's cover here of the Los Angeles L7's "Freak Magnet" is one featuring their typical Hellhammer-ish atonal riffs – which were atypical for L7, drawing an otherwise-overlooked throughline of aesthetic symbiosis – and inspired by the 1992 version produced by Butch Vig (on the Everglade EP) rather than the 1994 version produced by Gggaarth (on Hungry for Stink). Wait...Crass, L7, and Ice-T on a BARBARIAN album?! Believe it, comrade: this is the Reek of God!

Hailing from Germany, KARLOFF formed in 2018 initially as a means for erstwhile Graveyard Ghoul member Tom Horrified to blow off some punk-oriented steam with a couple close comrades. While their first Demo '18 and then subsequent Raw Nights mini-album presented them as a more gutter-level Midnight, it was 2022's debut album, The Appearing, where the true form of KARLOFF took shape. Recasting the band in a totally new, altogether more unique light, The Appearing strutted forth to a rich, robust, and rippingly muscular sound not unlike ancient-days metalpunk; think Carnivore, Best Wishes-era Cro-Mags, or even early Nasty Savage, and you're in KARLOFF's wheelhouse.

Turning that wheel yet further, KARLOFF return with their second full-length, Revered by Death. For sure, Revered by Death follows logically from The Appearing. That same lead-heavy stomp is present and accounted for here, but the paces KARLOFF go through are undeniably moodier and murkier; if there wasn't a sense of stifled violence here, it would almost be accurate to call LP#2 "sludgy." No amount of energy is sacrificed, thankfully, as KARLOFF's olde-worlde evil goes in an even-darker direction while the tempos, in kind, feel slightly more reined in. Fleshing out that darkness further are chorus FX, once again tastefully applied and suggesting still a post-punk influence that could blossom in the future; just witness the deathrock-in-glue instrumental "On Weathered Altar" for poignant proof. As the present stands, Revered by Death more than lives up to its lofty title, with KARLOFF's heaviness coming not so much from the volume or distortion they employ but, rather, from the overall feel of their songwriting: punchier, but portending a deeper doom & gloom.

DVP-R 14 Bad Lizard – Power of Destruction LP/CD

RELICS FROM THE CRYPT, the sub-label of DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS dedicated to keeping the past alive, is proud to reissue BAD LIZARD's cult debut album, Power of Destruction, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

One of those great "one and done" curios in the classic metal canon, Belgium's BAD LIZARD began life in 1980 with a more hard rock-oriented sound on their first single (originally released in 1982) before shifting gears up to proto-power-leaning heavy metal a year later on their next 12" EP. However, it was their 1985 debut album, Power of Destruction, where BAD LIZARD laid down an etched-in-time underground classic and then promptly disappeared as their lineup fell apart and promising tours had to be cancelled. A heavy metal dream lost at the time, but its memory is now being resurrected for a new generation of true metallers hungry for the cultest '80s European sounds.

Released by a young Roadrunner Records, BAD LIZARD's Power of Destruction bore some pretty recognizable similarities to much-bigger bands – the dual-guitar interplay of Judas Priest, the harmonic gallop of Iron Maiden, the cool, dark cruise of Accept – but the way they assimilated these influences spoke volumes about the vitality of the metal underground at the time. Totaling 10 songs in 41 minutes, the album was bursting at the seams with SONGS: each one distinct from the other and imparting a particular mood or texture or tempo, and each one absolutely memorable and passionately played. For a record that wasn't quite in metal's "big leagues" at the time, the production is incredible – heavy, atmospheric, and each instrument and especially vocals sizzling with presence and vitality – and that variety of songcraft and the subsequent pacing of the tracklisting made Power of Destruction an album you want to experience beginning to end. Beyond that, BAD LIZARD's chops here were expertly utilized in service of the song, with the band's overall execution giving the album a power metal feel despite the taxonomy actually reading "juiced-up traditional metal" more often than not.

As so often happens with a young band, BAD LIZARD began splitting at the seams as touring became too stressful and a suitable replacement for vocalist Eddy Termote could not be found. Even so, the band opened up for the likes of King Diamond, Manowar, Helloween, Destruction, and Agent Steel among others, and the album's subsequent release netted many positive reviews worldwide, altogether ensuring that BAD LIZARD's legacy wasn't a total wash. And now, again on vinyl and for the first time officially on CD, this reissue of Power of Destruction will continue that legacy, receiving a robust remaster courtesy of Patrick Engel at Temple of Disharmony: "Far Away From Home" no longer!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR's highly anticipated second album, Come Creeping Fiends, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Released in 2019 via DYING VICTIMS, AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR's Havoc at the Midnight Hour debut album introduced this British power-trio with no small amount of sleazy, Satanic fanfare. While their background may jointly lie in black metal, the three un-gentlemen of AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR held high heavy metal done the ancient way: classic Tank, early Raven, Warfare, and of course the almighty Venom as well as modern torchbearers like Midnight, Whipstriker, and Power From Hell. Unsurprisingly, the album garnered international acclaim.

Eclipsing that feat is the band's second album, Come Creeping Fiends. Truly titled once again, Come Creeping Fiends comprises nine tracks of heavy metal for the insane, forged in the Manchester morgue. Raging like a ravenous beast, summoning ancient ones, and agonizing with morbid doom, AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR cover a lot of ground here, but like the rotting undead that inspired it, this second album somehow holds together. The same black magic that made Havoc at the Midnight Hour a highlight six(-six-six) years ago is here again, only this time with a higher kill count and hit rate. Cleaner and crisper in execution but somehow darker and dirtier in its content, Come Creeping Fiends offers highlights at every crooked turn; tunes like "Strange Companion," "Fiend in You," and lead track "Dead Undead" will have all the witches dancing. Needless to say, fans of maniacal, EVIL heavy metal music and horror movies will find a lot to love.

MIDRYASI'S KULT are revolutionary and uncompromised. Featuring veterans from such Italian doom stalwarts as Doomsword, Midryasi, Agarthi, and Fiurach, their unique blend of elements from the NWOBHM, doom metal, and early black metal – all fused in their distinctive national dark-sound tradition, which includes such cult legends as Black Hole and Death SS – results in an obscure, hypnotic, and exciting formula.
In March 2025, after just one week on Bandcamp, MIDYRASI'S KULT were intercepted by Caligari Records, who released on cassette their debut demo, Mountain Devil. Featuring three songs in a concise 15 minutes, this demo reaped international acclaim for its originality and attitude.

But that was but a foretaste of darker delights to come. Witness the first full-length of MIDRYASI'S KULT, Italian Dark Sound. Truly titled, Italian Dark Sound is an intoxicating spelunk into catacombs both idiosyncratic and indefinable. Totaling 32 time-/mind-expanding minutes, the eight primary tracks here – the outro is titled "The Lost Son of Sylvester Anfang," which should offer an obvious clue to the black-metal-minded out there – each offer something different from the next, and yet all add up into a shadowy experience that's both rocking and atmospheric. In fact, if one were to single out an aspect between the demo and album, it's that MIDYRASI'S KULT exude more energy on this full-length without sacrificing any of their occult aura. But, just like that demo, Italian Dark Sound features supremely pro production – gritty, earthy, and yet kaleidoscopic in texture – under the guidance of Gabry "The Way" Strada, head of RDF Studio and who's now collaborating on the upcoming Doomsword new album. In the vein of an open artistic project, all the artwork is made by vocalist / bassist Geilt himself, and up to 11 musicians have been involved in these recordings.

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the much-needed reissue of WITCHING HOUR'S debut album, Rise of the Desecrated, on vinyl LP format. This marks the beginning of vinyl reissues of all of the band's albums, under license from Evil Spell Records.

Originally released in 2009, as well as on tape through Dying Victims in 2011, this album has not lost any of its juvenile enthusiasm for raw and evil thrash metal. While the band developed a more complex style of blackened heavy thrash throughout the years, this debut album is pure and straightforward black thrashing madness. Clocking in at just over half an hour, the album perfectly represents the Teutonic (black) thrash revival of the mid-2000s.

DVP 363 HARROWED – The Eternal Hunger LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HARROWED's highly anticipated debut album, The Eternal Hunger, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

HARROWED are a maggot-ridden death metal band from the Stockholm sewers. Rising from the hallowed ashes of Swedish death metal outliers Morbus Chron, the band comes as the creation of vocalist / drummer Adam Lindmark, who has teamed up with guitarist Tobias Alpadie (VAK, ghost department of Tribulation). A demo and subsequent split arrived in 2021 and '22, respectively, setting forth HARROWED's harrowing foundation: classic Autopsy, Entombed, Obituary, and Death Strike "funneled through a garbage disposal," accurately stated Adolf Vondkra of Tones of Decay festival.

The time has now come for HARROWED to make their full-length debut with The Eternal Hunger. Sharper but not without their signature stench, The Eternal Hunger sees the duo offering a more nuanced listening experience – but don't think for a second they've gone soft! Surely, HARROWED have gestated into a twisted mass of putrid filth, incorporating elements of old-school American and Scandinavian death metal, a lethal dose of punk riffage, and mind-bending weirdness (and even some shattered shards of skewed melody, if we're counting). The songwriting on The Eternal Hunger thusly exhibits more variety both in the micro and macro, with each of these eight tracks possessing the potential to rupture ear drums, crack skulls, and have you plunge head-first while maniacally screaming into the darkened abyss of crushing riffs, doomsday drumming, and nightmarish horrors.... The production on the album is stellar, as HARROWED teamed up with Robert Pehrsson (Death Breath, ex-Runemagick) in his Studio Humbucker during the summer of 2025 and created an authentically physical sound that's clear and concise whilst keeping a vintage raw edge. As such, The Eternal Hunger stays true to the original spirit of death metal without being yet another washed-out-copy of the HM2-sound. The album also features musical guest appearances from Nicke Andersson (Entombed, Death Breath) and Scott Carlson (Repulsion, Death Breath), among others, so you can bet this stuff is the real deal.

With the addition of a live lineup consisting of fellow creeps Dag Landin (ex-Morbus Chron, Tøronto) on bass and Estefan Carrillo (Hazemaze, Morbid Breath) on guitar, the HARROWED lineup is fully armed and diseased — ready to drag their decomposing death metal across stages and into your nightmares. Born from tragedy, BURNING PATH is the continuation of Chile's beloved heavy metal heroes LUCIFER'S HAMMER. In late December 2024, founding member Andre Adasme, AKA Hades, was murdered by a stranger. His brother Rodrigo, AKA Titan, had a difficult task ahead of him. But eventually, Titan decided to keep Andre's legacy alive along with longtime guitarist Hypnos, and BURNING PATH was (re)born. Titan decided to retire the LUCIFER'S HAMMER moniker "because there is no other who can replace my brother's leading role and character, who will forever be the signature of LUCIFER'S HAMMER music."

However, those whose hearts keep it true will be thrilled to hear the direction of BURNING PATH – "the same traditional heavy metal essence that has been our call for the last 13 years playing with LUCIFER'S HAMMER," Titan humbly states. Witness the band's "debut" full-length, Burning Path. With absolutely accurate artwork gloriously adoring its cover, BURNING PATH's self-titled debut picks right up where 2024's Be and Exist left off: like an iron fist lined with velvet, a deceptively silky surge that drives deepest into the heart of mid '80s metal. With Titan taking up the vocal duties as well as drums and guitar – and Hypnos, in kind, handling guitar, bass, and keyboards – the duo create a pistons-pumping juggernaut of melodic-yet-moody METAL, conveying electricity and energy no matter the tempo. In fact, much of Burning Path hovers near a strutting mid-tempo, and is all the better for it: BURNING PATH are equally powerful when illustrating heroism or heartache. Formed in 2016, the Helsinki-based CHALICE have quickly become a beacon of esoteric heavy metal. Featuring current or former members of such bands as Ranger, Satan's Fall, and Vincent Revenge, CHALICE released an opening demo and then subsequent EP in 2017 and '19, respectively, before their decisive debut album, Trembling Crown, in 2020. Reaping widespread acclaim, CHALICE's first full-length weaved high drama and dynamic metal into a tapestry of wonder and weightiness.

Now, CHALICE return with a record that eclipses that feat: Divine Spear. Presciently titled, Divine Spear is a carefully crafted, razor-sharp package that nevertheless reveals a bounty of sonic and psychic treasures. Forged in the freezing winds of the Finnish winter, here do CHALICE further refine their deceptively elegant sound, combining the pure spirit of classic European metal in a unique blend with cinematic progressive influences and the dark aura of their northernmost melancholy. Sometimes slow-burning in its doling out of details but duly benefiting patient listeners, Divine Spear paints a picturesque landscape of both light and dark, offering deliverance to those seeking beyond the boundaries of the so-called "new wave of traditional metal" movement. Of especial note are the poignant shifts into cleaner, quieter territory, truly heightening the drama that so earmarked their debut album; CHALICE are nothing if not master craftsmen in this regard, utilizing their prodigious chops in the service of literally awe-inspiring songwriting and beckoning listeners to lose themselves in their narrative flow.

DVP 366 VENTHIAX – Rites of Ra MLP/MCD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present VENTHIAX's highly anticipated debut mini-album, Rites of Ra, on CD and 12" vinyl formats.

Hailing from Sweden, VENTHIAX are a speed / thrash metal band that was formed in March 2021 with the goal of becoming the loudest and most ruthless metal band in the region of Huskvarna / Jönköping. The band consists of bass-player Wendy Juneström, who also creates and distributes the old-school thrash metal fanzine Black Pages since 2019; guitarist Viggo Heinonen, who also played in the black metal band Pyrrha; and drummer Emil Borg, who is recognized as the roaring percussionist, embracing the true old-school spirit when whipping the toms. Thus armed, VENTHIAX let free a flurry of releases, including a first demo, EP, and not one, but two live albums.

Keeping that iron burning hot, VENTHIAX strike with their meanest and most assured recording yet: the mini-album Rites of Ra. While those prior short-lengths indeed laid their noble foundation – old Slayer, Sodom, Nifelheim, Celtic Frost, Death, Agent Steel, Törr, and Blessed Death – on Rites of Ra is where VENTHIAX blaze beyond the gates with maximum efficiency...and maximum overdrive! Said influences might mostly reside in the '80s, and there's certainly no disputing the power-trio's authenticity, but VENTHIAX exude the sort of charisma and songwriting acumen that elevates Rites of Ra above another retro-retread exercise. Dungeonic in its atmosphere but fighting tooth & nail to emerge from those dungeons with righteous plunder aplenty, this six-song / 21-minute record rips forth with a memorability that commands repeat plays – and repeat possession. Not for nothing is one of the mini's most emblematic songs titled "Speed Metal Mayhem"!
