Don't know how it hasn't been mentioned yet. One hour's worth of this unforgettable riff on repeat.

Rip. No age. He played on some of the finest black metal albums ever to come out of Sweden. Heaven Shall Burn and Panzer Division still get regular spins around these parts. Another band he was active with was Allegiance, with whom he recorded three albums on the No Fashion Records label. Fredrik Anderson, who would later join Marduk as their drummer was also a member. Well worth checking out. Sadly the fact that all three albums were released on NFR means they're difficult to track down. Not sure if they've ever been reissued.

Amazing weekend. Delighted I went. Very easy to meet most bands at the stalls before or after their performances. Highlights were Vinterland, Old Man's Child, Totenwache, Emyn Muil, Gallowbraid and Vesperal. Bonus points for meeting Galder and Vinterland and getting plenty of hard to come by items signed. Hearing Welcome My Last Chapter in it's entirety live fulfilled a three decade old ambition. Not a hint of trouble all weekend and incredible venue. The fact that the early bird are sold out for next year says it all. Plenty of pre and post gig pints in the Lord Rosebery and B and B just over £100 for the three nights. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Kreator-Violent Revolution. Terrorizer said it all when they described it as an album with artwork eerily reminiscent of Coma of Souls and a title which could easily be Terrible Aggression or Extreme Certainty. The fact that the first song is called "Reconquering the Throne" tells us all we need to know.

Demolition Hammer-Epidemic of Violence. A glaring gap in the collection finally plugged. Reissue but for six euro in Saturn, Düsseldorf can hardly complain.

Am interested in To Live Is To Die. Should be in the city centre Wednesday morning as am catching bus back to south east if it suits to meet. This is provided there's no flight delay coming back from Leeds Bradford Airport.

I rarely see this one mentioned but I love it.

Would probably make my number four after the Dreadful Hours, the Angel and the Dark River and the Light at the End of the World. An amazing band.

Was wondering if Gallowbraid had more material to hand than that EP but it appears not. Few other acts there like Old Sorcery and Emyn Muil I've heard of but never properly investigated so that'll have to change. Return flight to LBA for €60 plus one and three quarter hour train ride from Leeds. Definitely doable. Plenty of pre and post festival action on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights so plenty to look forward to. Was going to head last year but the niece's confirmation meant I'd have to wait a little longer to hear Métal Noir Québécois in a live setting.

Quote from: Snare on December 02, 2025, 08:49:52 PMI've been checking out the line up the past few years and was interested in heading but never sealed the deal. Someone was telling me they were there last year, I think I know who it was so I'll ask for their feedback

Absolutely shocked to see Gallowbaird will be playing this, their ep is one of the best things I've ever heard. It would be amazing to catch them. I really dig A Forest of Stars also, nice.

Costs more than I envisaged but seeing Old Man's Child for the first time since 1998 and Vinterland performing Welcome My Last Chapter as part of the 30th anniversary meant it was too good to miss. A Bank Holiday weekend too. Think it's their fourth year hosting. Anyone ever attended?

Limbonic Art-Moon in the Scorpio. Remember listening to the album around the turn of the millennium and it did nothing for me. Suffice to say my opinion changed completely when I listened again on the strength of a Youtube reccommendation this afternoon. It's absolutely brilliant. Is the rest of their discography anywhere near as good?
