Was up at this as we were providing backline for Napalm. Was talking to Volbeats tour manager who said to me we played to 26,000 two nights ago but can only sell 1,800 tickets for this. He says the U.K. and Ireland aren't good for them. Be interesting to know who those U.K. shows went.

I didn't think the sound for Napalm was as bad as been made out. But it was odd as fuck seeing them there. The pit thing was stupid.

Metal Discussion / Brigantia doom metal

Many of you might remember these Tipperary doomsters. New 3 track EP went up last night. Sounds deadly. Great production (Ciaran Culhane) and the vocals are spot on. Delighted to see them come back with this.

Been thinking about this the last few days and I keep arriving at the same conclusion. Macabre Omen - Gods of War at War. Vision, creativity, songwriting, musicianship, lyrics - it can't be beaten. An epic album in every sense of the word, and a true classic.

In a scene where incredible albums are released every month it can be hard to pick true classics, but this one is set in stone.

Been aware of this band in name but never checked  them out - thought it was a PM band for some reason. Just threw this on and it sounds amazing a few songs in. Nice one Aaron

A lot of great albums here. Some I must revisit. One of the albums that blew me away was A Umbra Omega by Dodheimsgard. An absolute monster of an album. Complex and listenable and just flows brilliantly.

I actually thought Zemial's Nykta was an excellent album  too.

I actually thought Malthusian's sound was great and they were deadly. The clearest mix I've heard live with them. I thought the guitars were clear. I was up front on the left.

I enjoyed ulcerate. Got a bit samey after a while. Amazing drummer has to be said.

Enjoyed playing. Cheers Karl.

As already said great venue. Much better than the Voodoo.

Another MI user here. Miss it for new bands and gig listings etc. Also miss that amazing off topic must listenable albums thread.

Hoping this takes off as a useful resource and place to go for info for the Irish scene. As noted MI closed down too abruptly imo.
