Quote from: Kos on May 16, 2026, 10:04:41 AMGreat gig. I discovered them around the release of their first album and it was on a regular repeat for a while but mostly lost track of them since then. So it was great to see them live finally. Didn't know they had violin added and thought it was pretty cool. Got some Swans vibes from the performance too.

For the volume, I was at very front with my Loops in but it was fine for me, pretty much like any other gig.

Also, anyone has a tracklist by any chance? I'm looking for a track title they played in the middle - slow with a kind of a buildup.

I think it was mostly the new album but they improvise quite a bit so things change up.

Thanks for coming, Dublin and Limerick definitely not as loud as Belfast. Plenty loud all the same.

Quote from: Pentagrimes on May 02, 2026, 11:32:50 AMMore metal adjacent maybe but John Reis of Rocket From the Crypt/Drive Like Jehu/Hot Snakes' famous "dragon" Les Paul was originally owned by the guitarist from 80s hair metal band Vain

Now owned by Tony Gaccia.

Hoping it doesn't cos I ain't got ticket money til payday. Very cool announcement though, not terribly familiar with Ragana but seems like a good pairing

Seen Ragana at Supersonic a couple years back. Great band. Excited for this one!

THE COSMIC DEAD WITH SPECIAL GUESTS WILD ROCKET

Tickets: https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/the-cosmic-dead-workmans-club-dublin-tickets-1982431672498

The Cosmic Dead are an amorphous blob of space rock energy hailing from Glasgow, Scotland. Their exploratory compositions often reach levels of sonic destruction through reflective repetition and visceral harmony.

The band has taken many forms since forming in 2010 and has been declared 'The loudest psychedelic rock band on the planet." by legendary compere Kozmik Ken. At the base of the current sonic obliteration team is a rhythm section of Tommy Duffin and Omar Aborida, a thunderous and cohesive unit which is then further propelled into the outer realms by Luigi Pasquini providing frantic italo synthesized electronics along with Calum Calderwood's mind bending, sky-shattering fiddle acrobatics.

'Beyond The Beyond' is the highly anticipated tenth studio album from inter-dimensional space travelling explorers The Cosmic Dead, the album takes listeners on a four track expedition into the deepest cosmos of the band. Recorded at Dystopia Recording Studio in Glasgow, 'Beyond The Beyond' features the riff rolling rhythm section of Tommy Duffin on drums and Omar Aborida on bass guitar alongside soaring fiddle acrobatics from Calum Calderwood and electronic textural bleeps and bloops from Luigi Pasquini on synthesizers, all wah laden and with phasers set to destroy - Turn on, tune in and immerse yourself in the sound of The Cosmic Dead.

"If the rings of Saturn could sing, this is the sound they would make." - Zero Tolerance

New band for me and stumbled across randomly. Been on constant spin today. Really enjoying it

The drummer Valentina is one of the best around. Everything they do is class but Holy Tongue is one of my favourites. Heavy dubby experimental stuff.

Quote from: decy on December 02, 2025, 12:44:44 PMVYK were deadly alright, taking in a lot of stuff and making it all sit together naturally. Immediate points for singing in an unaffected accent too.

Hadn't seen Wild Rocket in so long, loved it, sticking a Volvo sticker on an MS-20 definitely makes it sound better. Pink Glasses also managed to do Harry Pussy style wonk without it sounding like a total mess. Most fun I've had playing with SG since we started gigging again.

I feel like there had been less of these varied heavy weird nights the last few years but maybe they're on the way back, always been my favourite kind of gig to play or go to. Fair play Moose for putting this together anyway

Nice one yous were class. There will be more varied nights in 2026!
