Quote from: mickO))) on November 12, 2024, 12:13:49 PMIt does seem like a weird time for them to stop. All the lads seem to be in great condition for their ages especially Derrick and Andreas, Paulo looks to be a little slow but otherwise fine. The new drummer is great.

I don't know what way copyrights work as in did Max have to pay money to Andreas when I saw Soulfly doing Roots in full live with Igor a few years ago or not. I don't think it would make much sense for Max to buy the name and continue as is. If Max is touring under the Sepultura name then Paulo and Andres have to be part of it, it would be the difference between them say playing the 3 Arena here or playing the Academy.

I think Max and Igor either showing up or not showing up for the final show in Brazil will give a good indication of which way things are headed.

I'm pretty sure that Andreas said the end of Sepultura was to do with the death of his wife and wanting to be home with his kids. So probably no 'big' tours in the future.

He also wants to work with a charity in Brazil which brings palliative care to the favelas where needed. Again, this is related to the death of his wife.

Going to put my ticket up on Ticketmaster in a minute. Absolutely gutted to have got covid.

As you can probably tell from my username, I am a bit of a fan!

Quote from: mickO))) on September 29, 2022, 09:10:50 AMCarcass were terrible. The sound for them was awful. Was considering maybe sticking around for a little bit of Behemoth haven't listened to them since the Whelans show in 05 thought maybe I would give them another chance but couldn't sit through Arch Enemy and we were told if you leave the venue you can't get back in so didn't bother sticking around.
 Looks like we were at different gigs!!

If you are back in the Olympia again and want to leave, just out through the smoking area. They stamp your hand so you can go back in.

Overall it was great. Missed Unto Others cos I was stuck in work. I thought Carcass were fantastic, but a lot disagreed for some reason.
Arch Enemy were really good. Think they might have gone on longer then they were supposed to, but every song was a banger and the whole band really got the crowd into it.

Behemoth took a while to get set up (but a great stage when it was done). The set was fantastic. A few older tracks (but no real early stuff) from Demigod, Thelema and Satanica mixed with some newer stuff. All done while the band raged and prowled around under a brilliant light show.. Never seen a bad Behemoth gig. But this seemed to be cut short, possibly because of first night stuff they need to work on and Arch Enemy playing a bit long. They were practically kicked off at about 11:10, so just over an hour.
Great night overall..

Halo Effect were excellent.

Amon Amarth we're ok, and a lot cheesy. Good fun, but not as good as I expected. Anything from TOTTGs and before was ok..Giant sea snake being hit with a hammer was hilarious.

Machine Head were fucking fantastic. Jared is a beast on the bass, Vogg was great as expected, and Matt is phenomenal on drums. Robb was in great voice and form, really got the crowd going crazy.

Balcony was full apart from the sides, standing seemed to have a bit of space to spare as well.

I've heard worse songs, but it's not great.

And also I watched the video and didn't see an anti-mask agenda. More against 'one rule for the plebs and another for those in power'. Where is the anti mask stuff?

Also, that article is fucking disgraceful, and I don't even like 5fdp.

Ozzy's corpse will be wheeled out like a marionette. Sharon in the rafters holding the strings.

Just about to be rebooked for 2022, apparently.

No refunds!

Ticketmaster say it's going ahead and are still selling tickets...

But I saw Ozzy interviewed a few days ago and he is a frail old man. His deterioration over the last few months is quite bad.

I can't see him being fit for this gig, or being alive for a rescheduled one next year.

Fantastic gig. Decent venue if you are on the floor. Most of the seats seemed ok as well but I didn't sit so won't know.

Sound wasn't great, for Exodus, but they were great. Blacklist being the standout of the set.

Death Angel were fantastic. Really gave their all, and the speech the singer gave really got everyone wound up and set the moshing up for the night.

Testament were great, even though I was wrecked by this time. Not sure why the support bands weren't allowed use the lights though.  Great to hear Fall of Sipledome and Preacher.

Great night, my old legs are in bits though..

Should have a spare standing ticket for the main floor/pit. I'll be there for about 630 hopefully.
Face value.  I don't know how to pm, but if anyone wants it just leave a message here and/or I'll see you outside.

If I remember right, they were the same pricks who used to spit at bands cos they thought they were punk. A few of them got a hiding after the Anthrax gig in the top hat. After that it seemed to calm down.
