Messages - Bighead

Idles set was ridiculously short- I thought they'd at least get an hour seeing they usually draw a crowd here.

Good night overall. Deftones were better than I thought they'd be. I'm wrecked this morning.

Quote from: astfgyl on August 25, 2026, 09:38:38 AMJust checked out a couple of songs from the support bands. I might have been unlucky with the songs but jaysus is all of Idles stuff that bad? I may relax heading in

Idles are great live. Think this is my 4th time seeing them and that's more times then I've listened to their albums. Just works better in a live environment. Deftones are likely to be pretty pedestrian in comparison.

What time are you hitting the stage this evening?
:)

Yeah the background AI was awful and really distracting. Added nothing- a complete negative to the show. They'd have been better off just alternating between a logo, the band, the crowd. Turnstile had a camera above the pit which they played on the screen- that was cool. More bands should do it.
Enjoyed the night though. By the time I got there most of the merch was gone - looks like it was very expensive - at least what was left anyway.

They heard Luke Combs was finishing his set with a cover of 5 Year Plan and wanted to get to Slane to see it.

I'm on a boat on the Shannon and figure they'll be back sooner than we get a run of good weather like this again so I'm going to skip it. Free ticket for anyone that wants it.

How about D.R.I.
I'm expecting it to be a big pit all night. Only issue is they've moved it from Whelan's to Opium.

Fantastic weekend. Town felt like being at an Ireland away match. Really nice atmosphere about the place. Both nights were great and night 1 left me buzzing for night 2. Standing tickets for 121 for 2 nights- an absolute bargain given today's prices. Went to both nights with my daughter. When we arrived on night 2 she told me as a Father's Day gift she'd managed to get us snake pit passes through a friend of hers. Entered the pit while Gojira were playing Stranded walking in under the drummer. Doesn't get much better than that. I'd love to play it cool and by cynical about it but the pit was absolutely fantastic!
It could easily be the last (or 2nd last) time we get them here. Hard to see it being topped.

Was a great gig. The place was nuts the entire show but a real friendly vibe.

Was the complete opposite for High vis. A couple of fights broke out beside me. Gobshites throwing fists and elbows all around.

Gurriers were definitely worth getting their on time to see as well.

Standing resales for €46 now. Wonder how low they'll get just before kick off.

Obituary were fantastic! Didn't see any of the others but Obituary... brilliant!

Fucked my back - free ticket for tonight if anyone wants it.

Megadeth have announced next album and tour in 2026 will be their last. You'd assume we'll be on whatever the European leg is wouldn't you, or could this be the last time they play here?

They had Unleashed as support. It was a great gig. The Unleashed drummer wasn't allowed to travel at the last minute - visa issue or something, so the singer played drums while singing. Don't see that very often.

Quote from: 0ricky7 on May 30, 2025, 11:43:19 AMI got a good seated ticket on Wednesday but I really wanted a standing ticket, went on 15 mis ago kept hitting refresh and ended up getting a standing ticket, will I be able to sell the seated ticket back to ticketmaster?

Did you keep reloading the entire page or just keep trying to add the ticket to your cart before you got? Nonsense this that some can buy them then others can't.

I just kept adding them to my basket and eventually it let me in,a friend ended up getting 2 standing tickets 5 minutes after me getting mine

I tried all morning it wouldn't work must have tried 50 or 60 times at this stage and 'no tickets available' over and over again so that's me done ill be giving this a miss it has taken up far too much of my time already.

I have never seen this before in all my years of buying on TM for shows that tickets constantly showing as available but only some are actually able to buy them. My guess is it's some sort of tactic for the dynamic pricing as they are probably hesitant to be up front about that now given all the criticism they got over the Oasis shows last year so now they are trying something a little less obvious. If some people can get tickets and others can't all they have to say is the issue was with those who couldn't buy not ticketmaster.

Theirs no way Metallica are already close to selling out a 50k stadium in Ireland when they couldn't even sell out Marley park the year they played there and it's not as if they released anything of merit since then that has people scrambling to get tickets for shows. It's going to be same shit show all over again once single tickets go on sale. 50 different pre-sales and tickets showing as available that can't be bought.

Weren't Metallica involved in some Ticketmaster scam just before the pandemic that was setup up to milk fans of as much as they could when getting tickets to shows?
There's no dynamic pricing happening. They could have easily done it but haven't. There's lots of different ranges like you can pay a load extra for early admission or 3500 for the meet and great or 7000 for one if the towers that comes with 8 tickets. The on pitch standing works out at about 105 per night which for a band their size in that venue is good value - well as much good value as a 105 concert ticket can be. I know they're a band everyone likes the shit on for money stuff but they've done alright by the fans this time. I know a lot of people who've paid 450 for 1 Oasis ticket and those fuckers might just not turn up on the night.
