Musicians forum / Even Angels seeking bassist
October 13, 2025, 07:11:45 PM
Hi Folks,

Even Angels is looking for a bassist, aged 25-35 (this age range is a general guideline; if you are a good fit, it matters much less).

Current status of the band:

1. We write our own material and are Dublin-based.

2. The band is three years old and has approximately 50 gigs under its belt.

3. We have a fully mixed and mastered album of 10 songs, 40ish minutes. It is unreleased.

4. We have an EPK ready to go.

5. We are down a member....the bassist.

Immediate Future plans:

1. Get gigging again
2. Make a music video
3. Distribute EPK
4. Improve social media engagement

Medium-term plans:

1. Release singles
2. Release album
3. Aim to play bigger gigs (festivals or support slots with bigger bands)

Long term plans:

1. Sold-out stadium tours
2. Be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
3. High-profile divorces, back-stabbing, and lawsuits.

Practice routine:

We try to have at least two practice sessions per week. One is typically in Pirate studios (D11 X06W) for approx 2 hours and one practice session on a Saturday or Sunday for 4 hours in Camelot studios in Tyrellstown (D15 T6DD)

We'll also have ad hoc band meetings and sessions to work on other aspects, such as assembling the EPK or planning the music video.

What we are looking for in a bassist: As we are an originals band, we would like the bassist to learn our original material asap. For those interested, learn one song, "Loaded Dragon", available on our spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/3n7eKyc3T482jEszUaZHi5.

The lads and I look forward to hearing from ye!

Kind Regards,

Kevin Murphy (drummer)

Nah. I think he really means what he says.

I wouldn't agree with you, there. It is nice to strike a chord with a post, though.

A review about the review for some more context.

I find myself going back to read the following review every so often. As well as being funny, it is sincere and thoughtful. They aren't pissing on a classic vindictively for clout.

For myself, I quite like the album but the reviewer, UltraBoris, does make some good points and gives some food for thought.

Quote from: Pentagrimes on September 18, 2024, 12:00:49 PMThere's something incredibly funny/cringey about this video to me. People with short hair lheadbanging just looks like they're having a particularly vigorous wank.

Everything about that is awful.

Battenburg guitar duel anybody?

This isn't metal and it is intentionally funny, but it deserves an honourable mention

Band names should never have more than 3 words and should not have punctuation, symbols or numbers (looking at you Sunn O))))

That was driving me mental. I was right up front on Skolnick's side and watching his fingers flying but not hearing it >:(

Hands down, my two favourite are:

Anyone know any other gems (especially if they led you to great albums you may not have heard otherwise)?

Great gig all round.
Kreator were epic. Felt like they were headlining.

I really feel Testament get short shrift. With the talent they have in the current lineup, better sound could have made them band of the night for me.

Do you have any recordings, mp3, midi of your songs/riffs?
