Thanks the other band members but not Dave......rather pointed! He already posted last week along the lines of he's just the hired help and it's just a job for him. I wonder if he was actually fired?

TBH from what I've seen of Pete posting online, he comes across as distinctly odd (if not quite Trey levels).

Always loved the short bass break in Morbid Angel's 'Suffocation'. Gnarly!

Trey's alleged (since deleted) input on Mike's passing....

This is a bit odd/dodgy surely: https://www.ironmaiden.com/iron-maiden-x-pophouse/

It was inevitable for them as a business. They've had merch in Asos, Pennies etc.

Yeah, I got a banger of a Live After Death T shirt in H&M for 12 quid (there's a less good Live After Death one in Penney's too). Picking that up as gig merch would have been €50 or more.

RIP Mike. Engaged with him on Facebook a few years ago and he seemed really sound. The Key is a great album

Noticed that on and off on Facebook over the years. He seemed to be very engaged with the scene and had a huge knowledge (and seemingly great memory for events from decades ago). And seemed to be widely respected as an all round sound guy.

Yip, top notch. It really is funny that a band with a rather dodgy live reputation for a very long time just pulled their socks up (seemingly when they got that new guitarist a few years ago) and decided to start killing it live (and, in many ways, I think the rather dunderheaded nature of their songs works live a lot better than on disc). Saw them in London two years ago and they were great. Was hoping they'd pop up there again around the current festival dates but seems not.

The Berserker announced for this in their first - and only - European show for 18 years. Quite the surprise!

Saw the cover on FB and presumed someone was taking the piss....

I've just seen that Dan Simmons died last weekend. Author of the Hyperion series and The Terror, among others. A bit niche perhaps, but there you are.

Haven't read the book, but The Terror is one of the best TV shows most people haven't seen.

How much did the DMDS go for? I gave away - for free! - a copy on Metal Ireland back in the day when I was clearing stuff out...

Seems to go regularly for between 1500 - 2000 on discogs. Sometimes more

Giving it away for nowt wasn't my most intelligent move....

Banger! Booked for London already.

They played Cork in 1994, it was an allages show too!, was gutted at the time i couldn't make it!

I was at it. IIRC there was only a handful in the audience.

Thanks lads.......any chance of a new album though? It's been six years!

Dave lost his Icon status when he left Morbid Angel... twice

TBF the last time he (and Destructhor - remember him?) was booted out and Trey didn't even have the good grace to tell him, poor Dave only finding out from a post by Trey's mom (who seems to have a lot of input behind the scenes) on Facebook.
