I've just seen that Dan Simmons died last weekend. Author of the Hyperion series and The Terror, among others. A bit niche perhaps, but there you are.

Haven't read the book, but The Terror is one of the best TV shows most people haven't seen.

How much did the DMDS go for? I gave away - for free! - a copy on Metal Ireland back in the day when I was clearing stuff out...

They played Cork in 1994, it was an allages show too!, was gutted at the time i couldn't make it!

Dave lost his Icon status when he left Morbid Angel... twice

TBF the last time he (and Destructhor - remember him?) was booted out and Trey didn't even have the good grace to tell him, poor Dave only finding out from a post by Trey's mom (who seems to have a lot of input behind the scenes) on Facebook.

Wasn't too gone on that shirt TBH but they had a couple of really cool original designs - all ruined with a giant I Am Morbid logo. Reckon they'd sell more TBH with a more subtle logo.

I forgot it was leather shorts even better  . He does come across as someone who would be easily approachable. I would love to bump into him and Pete next week for a photo but probably very little chance of that happening.

I'd say he's pretty chill. Have seen him post on FB a couple of times that he's in a particular bar in Amsterdam that he likes if anyone wants to join him for a beer. He openly admits he was a dick back in the day but seems to have really copped on since (unlike Trey) - farms his and his wife's ranch when he's home!

Not sure how the rights over these things work, but what are the chances of some Morbid Angel vinyl at the merch?

He regularly sells signed A - D MA vinyls directly on Facebook so you never know....
