Metal Discussion / FUCKHAMMER

Some of you may remember FUCKHAMMER originally formed somewhere between Drogheda and Belfast around 2010.
Beem a bit of a Hiatus over the past 5 or so years between one thing and another.
Here's a link to a new track 'Hope Ticket' off the soon to be released E. P.  'Cyancelled to Fuck'

https://youtu.be/Z_d-OQEnRSQ

Musically it's in the vein of Sludge Metal some slower heavier tracks and some more up tempo with a metal crust vibe.
Previous releases Hammered to fuck, and the split cassette 'Hammering thy grave' are long since sold out.
Some of the 'fucked' album. Are still availible on cd from the bandcamp and all tracks are availible to stream from there.
Live shows on 2022 are likely more info to follow.

Metal Discussion / Re: Controversial Metal Opinions
March 16, 2019, 01:36:48 PM

Controversy....   lets see....

Mastodon - are pish, on record, in small clubs, arenas, festivals, support, headliner the lot.. Believe me if tried to'get' what a lot of other insist is amazing about them.....
Neurosis - are not heavy. Again I've tried, live, on record the lot. Not pish. Just not heavy. Some of the vocals are a bit  irritating too.
Clutch - are beyond dull. I really don't get it.
Metallica - Justice for all is better than Master of puppets - to be fair its only by a short hair and on any day those toe could change places.
Primordial - the more recent stuff is great, the early stuff, not so much.
Black Sabbath - Technical Ecstasy and Never say die are perfectly fine albums.
Rush - instead of wasting time trying to decide what is their best album just listen to it all!!  Its  all good!

right that should do for now.

Ok, If you feel the need to plan a trip round Europe or further afield to see bands or want so see if there are gigs on in a certain city or country you might be in what websites or other info do you use???

I've used http://www.metalstorm.net/events/events.php and other info but what usually happens is that i miss out on festivals or gigs because i don't find out they have happened till after they are over!!

Some bands are good at getting their info out there - some are woeful!!

Anyhow....

List me your ideas or links cheers.

Metal Discussion / Re: Candlemass - The Door to Doom
March 01, 2019, 10:20:33 PM
Album is great, a bit of filler on there for sure but in the main its solid Candlemass

What really impressed me though was his live interpretations of Messiah era songs, Mirror Mirror, Well of souls etc - obviously not the same style but really well done.
Sound in gig in Germany a few weeks back was crystal clear.

Love to see a headlining set

Ryanair flight to Prague then a couple of hours on a train I think. Dublin flights seem cheap enough.

cheers, must look into it

Saw GODFLESH with GOATSNAKE in the Kentish town forum a few years back, one of the best sounds ever.........

also saw BOLT THROWER and AUTOPSY in there with an appalling sound. So i guess its nothing to do with the venue

whats the logistics on this fest? where do you fly to train to etc
