Yeah, I always wrote them off bar that "Wide Open Space" song but my ex wife really liked them and I gave that album a go on that basis. very pleasantly surprised. Not the shite britpop I'd written them off as at all.

"Being A Girl" is also a banger, hearing the full version rather than the single edit for the first time was quite a surprise

I'd say "Fade to Black" off Doomsday is the best Iron Maiden song you've never heard 

It's mad that Newstead was apparently the lead songwriter on Doomsday and came outbwith several bangers,but barely got a look in on the writing front on Metallica

The bass playing on "Hammerhead" is outrageous

Why sugar coat anything? I just don't have time for shit music and I dont care about bands who run on"vibes" (apart from bad ones, obviously) . What I think doesn't matter anyway in the grand scheme of things, tis just my experience of them.

Incidentally,  it was them opening for Katie Kim.
