Abhorration were great. I didn't give them much time before this show was originally announced. The full length is really good.

The venue is good and bigger than I was expecting from the outside but at the very least the lights should be dimmed when a band is performing. Personally I'd prefer the lost lane which I think is the best venue in Dublin currently for the smaller gigs along with the grand social. It's good to have more venues now available for shows.

Anybody see stage times for tonight?

No the last time they played here was 2024.

Great show from Crowbar they even mixed the setlist up with 5 or 6 new ones from what they usually play including Repulsion In Its Splendid Beauty which I think may be the first time it's ever been played live. Only complaint was the vocals were very hard to hear which I think was due to the microphone because even in between songs I couldn't make out what Kirk was saying.

Got in to see Legions of Doom not knowing any material but wanted to check them out given who's involved. I didn't really enjoy them not my type of thing and no sign of Scott Reagers so I am guessing he doesn't tour with this band.

Two shows just announced for Belfast in the Oh Yeah and Opium in Dublin this November. Wormrot supporting.

Public Enemy supported them in Europe last year. PE and Ice Cube supporting them in the US this summer which would be great additions. I doubt the support here is going to be anyone decent since it hasn't been announced already.

Been talk of a new Blasphemy album since Victory (Son of the Damned) was released 25 years ago it's never going to happen. Ryan is the only one in the band with any drive the rest couldn't be bothered. More chance of seeing the Sadistic Intent or Dark Sonority full lengths than a 3rd Blasphemy album.

I went to these shows could have been other stuff on as well

January - Deicide (I think this was the shite show were Glen wasn't on tour and random people from the crowd sang. If it was Killswitch engage played the same night in the Ambassador because I remember Jack Owen taking the piss out of the KSE vocals on stage) Also the last time Deicide played in Ireland.
Feb - Brutal Truth (I think Total Fucking Destruction supported?)
The real Decapitated (Viteks last ever show in Ireland)
March - Necrophagist w/ Misery Index,
Rotting Christ w/ Incantation, Malevolent Creation and Rotten Sound
Vital Remains show (With Damien Boynton on vocals),
April - Amon Amarth w/ Finntroll, (The last time I listened to and went to see either of these bands live)
        Hatebreed
May - Negura Bunget
Unleashed w/ Belphegor & Arkhon Infaustus ( I don't remember AK being there),
Immolation w/ Krisiun, Grave and DOA
Then the two shows I mentioned in my last post.

Unbelievable looking back at that now and even at the time it was great. Shame those days seem to be long gone.

Quote from: KingHostile on February 07, 2026, 11:40:39 PMPlayed a great gig with akercocke in the voodoo a few years back!

Was that the show in May of 2007 with Cephalic Carnage? The first half of 2007 has to have been the best run of gigs this country has ever seen finishing up with Dying Fetus and Skinless a few days after the Akercocke gig.

Resale ticket for the Limerick show is up on TM right now for anyone looking.

The issue people have with Scowl is they basically sold out on the last record and made a pop album.

Quote from: Squigs on January 29, 2026, 11:29:50 PMWhen did they last play here? Would love to see them again. Caught them a heap in the mid/late 2000s and not since I don't think.

2007 I think. They were suppose to play in April 2022 but it got cancelled.

Deicide are back to being great live again and have been since the Legion in full tour a few years ago. Taylor Nordberg the current guitarist is really good.

Someone posted on here last year that H left because of the deal with MCD. It apparently had something to do with MCD having a shit fit over things that were posted after a show years ago on either boards or MI so they don't want anyone affiliated with them using forums. No idea how true that is as I don't know him personally.

I can't blame people for falling if it wasn't for the gigs section I would probably have dropped off myself. If the music discussion isn't about the Metallicas, Judas Priests, Iron maidens etc or the local scene the thread rarely goes past one page. I get my music discussion from other far more active forums that have good discussion on the more underground bands.

I have been to loads of shows this promoter put on over the last few years that had no issues EHGx2, Krisiun, Harley Flanagan, Carpathian Forest, The Exploited and bunch of punk stuff.

Reading the band statement on this I would guess it didn't sell as well as expected so he tried to renegotiate with the band and they couldn't come to an agreement. The band said they have no issue with the promoter.
