The best IT so much better than the shitty remake a few years ago. I also remember him playing a great part as a serial killer in one of those US crime shows not long before he had the stroke.

Song sounds good. Great to see them back as I have gotten pretty bored with Pantera. Artwork was never the bands strong point other than the iconic smoking Jesus. They are currently touring NA be great to see them back here at some stage last time was the 2 nights in the Academy 17 years ago?

The new Funebrarum full length and split. Annoying as fuck to see that the Funebrarum tracks on the split are already on the album which of course wasn't mentioned during the pre-order they better be different versions.

In Flames will be grand, never really dived too deep into their stuff and can't remember what they were like with Slayer back in 2006 because I was 16 and had one too many cans of cider.

Was the 2006 show not with Sepultura? I was trying to remember my first time seeing them at the beginning of the month and it was this. No interest in, In Flames so I didn't bother sticking around for them and didn't Slayer play the point in November of that year? They were hardly here twice in the same year as that's something that never happens in Ireland when it comes to metal gigs.

They played in March 2006 with Sepultura in the Ambassador then in November with Slayer, Lamb of God and Children of Bodom on the Unholy Alliance

Yep just seen that I couldn't remember who played the UH other than LOG as Slayer was the only band I wanted to see at the show. I will always remember that show for being the first time I had ever seen a tour shirt being sold for €40 which I thought was crazy.

Edit: Just checked and In Flames were one of the supports at the Unholy Alliance show in 06.

In a country were metal is arguably the most unpopular genre of music that was a great turnout for Sepultura in the 3 Arena. I was at the signing and many there seemed to have travelled from mainland Europe for the show. The signing was a great last minute surprise, the lads were very friendly and genuinely seemed happy to be there.

I have no interest whatsoever in Cryptia so that was an easy skip. Had planned to see Sacred Reich but pints got in the way. Got in as Bloodbath were starting they were ok but it's just more mainstream Swedish DM that I don't need and will never buy.

Biohazard were great I would have preferred if the set was longer as it took them a song or two to get going.

Sepultura were band of the night for me. It was great to hear two of my favourite songs from the Green era Against and Choke. The AI stuff didn't bother me at all I was just watching the band. I brought a mate along who wouldn't know Sepultura at all and he said it was one the best gigs he has ever been to.

Shame it's the last show as the previous Olympia gig got me right back into a band I had written off years ago. Now we won't at least see this version of them ever again. I don't know how this show came about if it was just luck the way the tour routing went or if Dublin was purposely chosen as the last show either way it's great that we got this gig and fair play to everyone that had a hand in making it happen.

Cryptopsy were a lot better last week then the previous time they had been here. My only complaint would be the short set they could have easily added in back to the worms and cold hate warm blood or a few from the first album. Matt is an incredible vocalist with a great range.

They had a sleeveless None so vile shirt that was €30 those are usually more expensive than short sleeve shirts. Merch designs were shite anyway. A packed Whelans is always horrible the heat inside on the main floor was almost unbearable.

Hmmm. 60 years on the clock. Any word what happened him?

Thanks I will look into that. I am also on the look out for the Arcade Stick Pro which seems to be easy to hack and it fixed all the issues people had with the mini.

Has anyone ordered the Neo Geo AES+? I was considering getting it until I saw the games are going to be €80 each. It's cartridges so a step in the right direction since it won't have digital downloads.

Not myself anyway. Looks like a cool piece of kit but anything NeoGeo is a rich mans game. Even the flashcarts for Aes cost hundreds if I recall.

I have the mini which is disappointing because I bought it thinking I could easily hack it and have every game on it only to find out after buying it that the hack requires opening it and soldering stuff. Then on top of that the output is very poor quality when you connect it to a TV.

Was checking out the samples on the website from the gig and while I wasn't overly impressed with the general tightness of it all, it's still a cool idea to have decent quality of whatever gig one was at and I wouldn't mind seeing more bands do something like that

They've been doing it for a long time. I have about 250gb of audio from live Metallica shows saved on a HD somewhere loads of stuff from the 80's going right up to 2017. Some of it sounds awful but you also have some real jems from the Kill em All and Ride tours. Sunn O))) also do the same thing.
