Gave Wonderland a rewatch last night. Still a good film even though it feels like The Doors part 2.

Seeing the Oddity movie mentioned too, thought that was terrible. Had to turn it off the acting was so bad.

Mother Russia is a great song from that album.

For me it would be

1 Somewhere In Time
2 Seventh Son
3 Iron Maiden
4 Brave New World
5 Killers

Would Somewhere In Time be considered their most aggressive?

Quote from: Pagan Saviour on April 01, 2026, 02:23:05 PMMostly agree. Brave is brilliant, they were rejuvenated and firing on all cylinders. I'll never forget how disappointed I was with Dance of Death, absolutely appalling, going through the motions. Awful artwork and lyrics. The title track, No More Lies, Journeyman etc are pure cringe. Especially Dance of Death, sounds like a jig.

I like the song Dance Of Death. The jig part is ridiculous but the rest of the song is great and I like the lyrics. I still think that song and Paschendale are the last two good long songs they did. Maybe I would add in When The Wild Wind Blows too.

I think Brave New World is excellent and Dance Of Death has some great songs but after that I didn't rate anything bar a few songs on AMOLAD and Final Frontier. The ones that came after them are terrible.

I think Bruce Dickinson's solo stuff from Accident Of Birth on pisses all over Maidens recent stuff. Chemical Wedding is one of the best Heavy Metal albums from the 1990s imo.

True enough 😄

The Blaze albums are way stronger than the last 2 Maiden albums imo.

Finished a rewatch of Vinyl last night. Really annoys me that this was cancelled as it was brilliant and really could have gone on for another few seasons.

Quote from: Black Shepherd Carnage on March 14, 2026, 12:09:39 PMHad never seen Velvet Goldmine, now I have. Not very good. Feels like a student movie for a lot of it, though the original tunes aren't too bad.

I never even heard of this before. Checked it out last night and I'd agree it's not great and too long as well but the music was great and I liked the original songs they did for it. I think it got that 70s vibe right.
Watched the Tina Turner one after that. Never watched it before and thought it was decent. Laurence Fishburne was good as Ike.

I don't like their music but I saw them at Dynamo amd they were great craic. Front man was funny.

Watched a French one last night called With A Friend Like Harry. Thought it was great. The French know how to make a fucked up film.

Watched The Life Of Chuck and wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised.

Saw a really good Danish one recently too called Just Another Love Story.

Watched 2 films by a director called Gerard Johnson. Hyena and Muscle.
Both very good but Muscle was particularly great I thought. When I saw Craig Fairbass was in it I was initially put off but he's actually very good. Quite a bleak film but funny at the same time and halfway through there is a shocking scene which I wasn't expecting.
I see he has a new one called Odyssey out which I'm looking forward to watching.

I really liked this when I heard it but never went back to it for some reason. Must give it another spin.

Actually just realized this is new stuff. Thought you were posting the previous album.

Yeah, visually it's one the best films I've seen in a long time. So many scenes would make a great music video.
