Metal Discussion / Re: Darkthrone Vocals

Quote from: Eoin McLove on April 20, 2026, 12:03:42 PMNocturno does the more necro ones and Fenriz does the hey-yeah-groovy ones.

Yeah that's what I thought. And so it's Fenriz doing the main vocal on the new Pre-historic Metal track?
They should have stuck with Nocturno on vocals, imo

Metal Discussion / Darkthrone Vocals
April 20, 2026, 11:54:56 AM
Listening to Darkthrone on Saturday night, the lads were having a discussion about which vocals were better. But we couldn't definitively decide who sang on what.

One lad was saying that Fenriz does the black metal vocals and Nocturno does the TGW vocals, but my mate was saying it's the other way around. Then my mate showed us the video of Nocturno singing at Wacken 04 so he reckons it's also him on the albums.

Chatgpt says it's Fenriz doing TGW but I wouldn't trust that.

Thoughts?

Great night all round. Every band played a good set. Marche Funebre were class

I'd second the comments on that sound engineer. Sounded like he'd never listened to much metal and just didn't know what it was supposed to sound like. Constantly turning stuff up and down and generally making a mess of things

One of the best death metal gigs I was ever at. Sandoval is a beast behind the kit, and Dave was on fire 🔥

I can see the reasons for the Zakk Wylde dislike now. Always assumed that BLS were actually bikers (strange that they would pretend to be something there not). Interesting...

Zakk Wylde seems to get a bit of stick from people. Not sure why (even though I'm not a fan). Noticed it again on the Pantera live thread. Is it just his playing with Pantera, or did he do something to piss people off?

Not for technicality, but for riffs and tone I'd go with Victor Griffen

Quote from: Don Gately on November 15, 2024, 11:59:08 AMThe Cure is AOTY for me, must check put new Tribulation actually, I didn't know it dropped

New Tribulation is cool. Once you get used to the clean vocals it's great, and adds a new dimension to their sound
