General Discussion / Re: Film

With the kids it's been loads of Star Wars and some Harry Potter movies ( i wish Voldemort had killed everyone).
Watched the new Knives Out - utter scutter. Overly long and just shit.
The Perfect Neighbour, that was good if only for shining another light on how America is so American.
The End We Start From. My wife told me this was going to be a post apocalyptic thriller.
No it wasn't.

Sleep you evasive mistress.
2 weeks now, 2 weeks this cunting flu has been knocking the shit out of me.
When I sleep it's like the sleep of the dead, then I wake in the night all bunged up and full of misery.
Fuck this shit.
I even had the flu jab, I should have just asked the pharmacist to inject me with dog  jizz.
It may have given me more resistance.

General Discussion / Re: Killing Joke

Just talking to a drummer the other day about Killing Joke, he told me all the Grohl's beats were preprogrammed, he had to go in and copy what was exactly laid out for him.

I only recently started listening KJ, Pylon, Mmxii and Pandemonium are the highlights for me so far.
I love the way he phrases stuff.
It feels like quite a lot of bands owe a debt to them.

Quote from: Snare on December 04, 2025, 10:32:47 AMThe way the Belinus band photo was resized so that they were smaller and wider was gas!

That's a classic , it's like a midget wresting stable.

Quote from: mickO))) on November 29, 2025, 03:04:32 PMEmperial Live Ceremony is another example of a great live album and one were all of the songs on it are the best versions currently available of those particular songs. The only issue I have with it is it's too short and from what I remember one or two tracks from the show are missing.

Forgot about this one, it's savage.
They were on fire at that point.

Metal Discussion / Re: Albums of the year 2025

Quote from: Eoin McLove on November 29, 2025, 06:07:48 AMThe new Gjendød isn't doing much for me. It's good but not a patch on their previous run of albums.

I still haven't ordered it. Angrymetalguy reviewed it and the overall verdict was that it's good but they didn't reach their full potential.

The first and fourth are still my favourites with the fifth not far behind.

The albums I'm going back to the most from this year are

Agnostic Front - Echoes In Eternity
Biohazard - Divided We Fall
Knives - Glitter
Born From Pain - Siege Mentality
Scour - Gold
Malthusian - The Summoning Bell
The new Malefic Throne is brilliant, need to listen to it more though.

Decade Of Aggression
Live & Dangerous
Live After Death
Metallica Seattle
Alice In Chains live album
FNM live at Brixton
Motörhead - Hammersmith 2007

These are the only ones I'd listen to, the FNM was on constant rotation when I was in school.

Paul Catten also has/had a doom band called black star or something like that.
He seems to get involved in loads of different bits and pieces.
I heard him on a podcast and he was very down to earth but a bit mad.

Born From Pain - Siege Mentality
Drugoth - The Indomitable Spirt Of Merciless Vengeance.

They are playing in  Nottingham in March with Stampin Ground.

Dying From The Inside is a savage album as well.
I love Paul Catten's vocals on the Murder One album.

Born From Pain supported Hatebreed in Nancys for definite.
Medulla Nocte played The Phoenix as well I'm sure.
