Sacrilegia are one of the most promising bands to spring out of our land in recent times. Their album is a ripping thirty minute long banger that I think will really impress a lot of people. I often find the thrashier end of the metal spectrum to be a bit dull and obvious but there is enough song writing skill and bite to the lads' album to elevate it well beyond the mundane. I believe they will have a bassist joining them live in future which will heft things up considerably.

Sounds very cool, was told lots of good things about their first live appearance which I managed to miss. I believe the album is out in March.
They played all of their songs at Siege and it was great, looking forward to the album.
They definitely have a great sound though am I the only one to find the preview track a bit lacking and repetitive? Looking forward to hearing the whole thing regardless.
Sounds promising, look forward to hearing more.

Not the only one. I was going to delay saying anything until hearing the whole album though.
I've gotten the repetitive thing about my own stuff from a few people. I think that with this kind of music it appeals to a certain kind of people (not that my stuff and Sacrilegia are the same kind of thing). My main influences are Blasphemy, Conqueror, Beherit and Bestial Warlust along with a few others. I love that style. If you listen to those bands it's hardly a huge variation in terms of songwriting within tracks. I see the same in Sacrilegia.
Their influences are very clear, this is their take on the kind of music they love. It sounds and is arranged they want it to be. It's not like they couldn't come up with other riffs or more tempo changes, it's them doing what they like. This kind of music is not crowd pleasing, mass appeal stuff. It's for people who are into it. If someone doesn't like it because they find it repetitive, lacking or whatever to them that's perfectly valid but it sounds and is arranged that way for a reason.
Thanks for clearing that up. Like an idiot, I'd forgotten to remove my "mass appeal" cap before listening to it.
Glad you'll remember to do so next time :)

Ha, did you just bandsplain Chris?
It's promising stuff indeed. They've gotten an awful lot done in a very short amount of time and I don't foresee them running out of steam any time soon. Well for at least the next 2 years hopefully, until the futility of it all becomes apparent. loljk metal is life
Not intentionally, I was more thinking out loud, not really intended to be pointed at anyone.

You're both off my Christmas card list.

How do you think 'out loud' on a forum? :P
LP and CD coming on April 12th.
Had a listen to some of this today and it sounds absolutely fantastic.
Cover art is class, too.
Release poster...
Sequel will look the business on vinyl.
Will the band have copies available to buy?
Or is only through Invictus?
It should be available at the gig with Vircolac and Senzar on 13th April.
Zero chance of me making it up to Dublin for a gig, unfortunately.
I'll just nab the LP from Invictus, sure.
A second track premiered yesterday on DECIBEL:
https://www.decibelmagazine.com/2019/03/12/track-premiere-sacrilegia-bloodstained/
Ordered this with the Vircolac LP the other day. Should make for a good weekend if it arrives before then.
Did a review of this for Vancouver's Covenant zine last week:

Great review.
Haven't been to a gig in about eighteen months but I'm considering this one and Vomitor.
L.P. and CD arrived today. They both look marvellous and the CD is currently spinning. The lads will be happy with how this turned out. Onward and upward!
I think I'll have to wait until the Vircolac and Vomitor before mine ships :abbath:
Cd landed today and I've only spun it once but I'm confident this won't be leaving the current rotation pile for a very long time.
Fucking savage, and then some.

+ 1 Brilliant Release :)
Streamed the whole thing on no clean singing and ordered it straight away after! What a ripper, can't wait to spin it when it arrives
Ordered, really like what I've heard so far.
Fuck, about ten years ago it was hard to point out more than a handful of great Irish bands to a foreigner. The current crop of bands could stand up to anything from abroad.
This album is an absolute ripper all the way through. Especially in the mid paced sections, some of the riffs sound almost like D666 at their most anthemic.
This will be happening in Cork next month
The first 10 minutes of Sacrilegia's set in Budapest last Saturday...

Nice
VIRCOLAC, SACRILEGIA and SPITE "7 dates of Heresy tour"
That'll be some craic. Love the poster.
No sleep til... that's seems mental playing Brooklyn twice in the one week.
It's mad that Worcester seems to be the cenrre of Mass. for gigs as well and not Boston. On planning a holiday to Boston a few years ago it seemed that all the metal scene was based in Worcester. Should rename it Warcester for the tour 😉
Nice tour anyway, best of luck with it. See ye in Cork in a few weeks anyway :abbath:
Record has pride of place in Tower Records today, well done lads
Interview for SADISTIC SCREAMS(UK) if anyone has a spare time between spreading a covid19 meme and the other...

Tapes released by ANGEL OF CEMETERY REC. in Brazil. We'll get only a few copies if anyone is interested...
Looking forward to hearing some new stuff.

When will you have your copies available?
It should take some two weeks to arrive, I'll put them up on bandcamp whenever it's on the way though.
Got the vinyl during Invictus' last save the trees proceeds promo they threw on Bandcamp, actually. Sounds fantastic.
After a massive delay due to Brazilian mail services being on strike + having certain restrictions to Ireland, our tapes are finally in and up on bandcamp if anyone is into it...

I dunno how I missed this one but it's brilliant, nice one.
We'll be featuring a tribute album to ABSU soon. There are some interesting names in it...
Cool. I only know yourselves, Cruciamentum and Inconcessus Lux Lucis. Never heard of any of the others.
Full track live Maryland Deathfest 2022.

The tour went well I hope?
100%. I still can't believe we played among so many killer bands, and the smaller shows were worthy all the same.
Happy days, man 8)
Nicely done 🤘🏻 Slight change since the last time I see ye in An Spailpín Fanac 😉
I was checking the DF website that weekend and the weather seemed to have played havoc with things for the headlining bands at night time where they had to move everything around last minute.
There was some talk of it being the last Deathfest as well for some reason? Probably too stressful I'd imagine dealing with everything across multiple venues indoors and outdoors, but maybe not financially viable either? Sorry for hijacking the thread but I'm curious as it's a bucket list item to hit Maryland DF at some stage.

I was at it a few years ago. Great fest. So many great bands, from all over the world. Maybe they make most of their money from beer sales? There were maybe 3-4k people per day across the 3 venues. Ticket sales alone would not have covered staging it
Well done Sacrilegia !!!
Must check out some more on youtube
Didn't someone commit suicide at it this year?I'd imagine that might be the last straw for the organisers.
On a happier note, delighted for the lads. Woke up the morning of it to a series of texts and photos from Jason and Bren of them meeting various legends (autopsy, Immolation, etc), and J looks like he's losing his mind in every single one of them. Also they sound absolutely whopper as a four piece.
Someone killed themselves at the festival? How bizarre.

Pretty sad. Jumped from a 7 story height.
Fuck.
Everybody was talking about it during the festival. Really unfortunate event...

Cheers Jamie, being a 4-piece live has made a lot more sense, specially playing the new songs.
Christ that's awful stuff, terrible for everyone there.
Back on Sacrilegia, superb performance from the video, extremely looking forward to the next release. Is that something we can expect this year?

That's the plan, but LPs might not be out until 2023.
Back on the road in September.
MLP finally out...
That was nearly a year waiting. The vinyl press backlog must be ridiculous!
Live in Romania 2023.

There's an Aussie site carrying Sold Under Sin and the new Coscradh. I'll grab them both on payday 8)
