Rather than call it a UFC thread lets broaden it. Did any big you see Chuck Tito 3? What possessed Chuck to get in there again. It was terrible.
Ortega Holloway next week should be gold.
didn't see anything from Chuck Tito and don't really want to to be honest.
UFC Beijing was good on Saturday morning. Some of those Chinese fighters are talented. Overeem back in the win column with an aggressive performance and Ngannou is back to his old ways too it seems. Stopping Blaydes' run is an impressive feat.
Max - Ortega should be deadly aye. Hoping Max is in top condition. JJ Vs Shevchenko too should be interesting!
The JJ fight should be a cracker . I hope she gets beaten. I think she is a phenomenal competitor but her attitude it terrible.
Her inability to process the fact Rose beat her twice is really sad.
Some nice fights coming up.
RDA v Usman
Holloway v Ortega
UFC 232
Ortega v Holloway
Shevchenko V Jedrzejczyk
Cannot wait to see these, I'm actually more interested in Shevchenko V Jedrzejczyk
This came up on the UFC youtube page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQIXEge3YnY
Cachoeira's first fight in the UFC and put up against Shevchenko.. with fucking Mario "If she dies, she dies" Yamasaki as ref... ffs who did she piss off :o
Just back from the weigh-ins to be honest I don't have any interest in the Shevchenko fight but I can't wait to see Holloway Vs Ortega.
Got to meet Stipe as well this evening an absolute gent.
I saw the weigh in on youtube. Jedrzejczyk was very respectful when facing off with Shevchenko, I thought it would be a bit more heated but it was nice to see. I'm rooting for Joanna for this one.
Yeah normally Jedrzejczyk is talking terrible shite but she knows better with Shevchenko seeing as she beat her 2 or 3? times in mua thai already and is no push over.
Really hope Shevchenko gets it and dominates the division. She got rightly screwed over in the two Nunes fights
Just caught up on the main event there.
Damn Ortega got stomped, tough bastard but there is a downside to having a great chin, taking that many shots isn't good for the brain.
Feel like Max should definitely move up to 55, that weight cut can't be healthy and I feel like even if he doesn't get an immediate title shot him getting in the Khabib/Ferguson/McGregor mix would make much bigger fights than anything left at 45.
As expected the women's title fight was a snooze fest. The main event was brilliant really wanted t-city to win I don't know how he managed to keep going as long as he did. The Manuwa fight was great as well.
Delighted for Max.Would love a Mcgregor rematch.
Holloway looked so good. Jesus he made shit out if him in the end.
I'm delighted JJ got beaten. Her inability to recognise that Rose beat her twice is embarrassing.
Manuwa fight was wild!
Gunner Nelson is a savage too.
Jon Jones!!!! Moving the whole event to California!!!!!! It's all so corrupt and far fetched. :-\
From what I've seen they are saying that it's trace amounts from the same shit he tested positive from 18months ago and Jeff Novitzky(usada) have said he's good to fight as it's no bearing on how his performance. The Vegas commission are just refusing to licence him.
Then money people would have spent on hotels/flights etc for Vegas of all places then. What a crock of shit.
There's something dodgy going on here 110% He recently declined extra testing also 'im not a junkie'.
Jones is just destined to have something hanging over him for every fight!
In all honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he pops for something else fight week!!!
Mark Hunt's instagram post was a scathing attack on jones and the ufc. The cloud will always remain over Jones. He can make all the statements he wants about redemption, loving Jesus, fuck the haters etc. At the end of the day he is tainted.
I wish he wasn't such a tool as he is such a killer but I can't cheer for him. Boooooo.
Jeff Novitzky on Joe Rogan atm.. it's basically 'plz stop being mean to jon'
Dont read next post if you've not watched 232 yet

Only started watching from Megan A Vrs Cat Z, that 'toe poke' looked horrible. Honestly thought her eye was going to be proper fucked after that. Was hoping for more then a 1 min fight!
Arlovski Vrs Harris, fairly dull affair. Arlovski has lost 7 of his last 9 fights, dropping fast and can't really contend with the new guys anymore. Probably time to call it a day tbh.
Mendes Vrs Volksnovski, Really Surprised by that one. Given his last come back fight I thought Mendes would do much better. Volksnovski just had him at every angle.
Latifi Vrs Anderson, dull as fuck. Latifi was gassed after round 1and the rest of the fight had nothing.
Chiesa Vrs Condit, I don't like Chiesa but he did well in this. Condit was doing some rolling to get out of those holds but just couldn't get anywhere really.
Cyborg V Nunes.. WTF! ???
Jones Vrs Gustafsson, Jones looked liked he learned a lot from their last fight. He was so ready for Gustafsson in this fight compared to the last one. Gustafsson didn't have anything for him at all, I was honestly surprised at how he fought this time around.
And fuckin with DC at the end.. such a cunt
Nunes landed the hammer of HELL on Cyborg. She looked so powerful. The replay showing her landing the wallops as Cyborg fell was crazy. Didn’t see that coming.
Mendes looked like tired when he couldn’t finish. That fella he fought was extremely Australian!
Condit.... the ship has sailed and I’m sorry to say it. Chiesa was on fire and I can’t stand him.
Gustafsson looked poor. I wanted to see him paste Jones but alas the bollox won again.
Daddies home!!!!
Bj Penn. My heart can take it anymore so please retire.
Fair play to Nunes, hard to see anyone properly competing with her anytime soon...
Dillashaw is really losing his mind over the stoppage on Saturday night. You could see him going limp . I think the ref saved him a severe clattering !
Hardy and his ill timed knee! He looked like a big hoor you would see outside a pub on after a night on the piss.
As for Cowboy. He looked quite old in the face but he brought the pain big time on that pup. I dunno how the knacker will deal with his reach if they clash.

tbh I had no interest in that "superfight". The press conference was fucking cringe.. they dressed like lads let loose in TK Maxx with 50 quid to buy something for the debs. And that slapping the toy snake off the ground.. jesus wept!
The stoppage was grand, I mean yeah they could have left it go on but when the refs do let it go on in similar situations everyone goes nuts. Fair fucks to Cejudo for doing it.
The whole shit with the flyweight division is so shady. Dana would have dumped them on their asses if TJ had won. And tbh he was really vocal about ending the division etc Then when he started getting backlash from other fighters who could be out of a job etc he suddenly started back tracking on it. Dana was sketchy as fuck about it the whole time and the fact he still won't give an answer really shows he's just going to look for another way to shut it down.
Then again Cejudo got the belt and jumped into fighting someone outside of the division which was bollox to begin with and had mentioned about going up a weight class so in fairness he's not exactly done loads to hep things there.
Deighted Cowboy knocked the shit out of that little fucker they need to start getting him back on main cards and give him a better pay day. He seems to have copped on to himself with taking shit more seriously now.
It's crazy they had Cerrone on the prelims. Dana White just seems to be getting more nauseating as time goes by. He seems to have a horn for that Hardy fella.
I can't wait for the Whitaker fight. Anything could happen.
Cowboy was fight of the night for me. The main event was a big disappointment and it was even more disappointing to see TJ crying at the press conference. Looking forward to the final of the heavyweight grand prix on Saturday I hope Fedor wins he demolished that gimp Chael last October.
Don't like jumpin on the "rumor train" etc but have any of ye heard the stuff coming out about McGregor.
"Someone" was showing me some stuff from a journalist around the assault charges McGregor went into the cops about recently. Some horrific stuff coming up about it, if its true he is fucked for life.
There's some stories out there atm but no names really being used like https://www.irishtimes.com/news/crime-and-law/sportsman-arrested-over-alleged-sex-assault-in-dublin-1.3762529
There's lots of "rumors" and whatsapp stories flying around about him.I heard even Ryan Tubridy was with him that night before it all kicked off.
That story has been doing the rounds for a few weeks now. One paper said they could confirm it was not a football player. A few different sites have mentioned McGregor in the same breath as all of this albeit vaguely.
If this turns out to be true and it all comes out then surely to Jesus he is fucked.
Despite his many flaws I sincerely hope its not true as the " I told you he is a scumbag " brigade will have a field day.
Back to the fights. I hope Fedor beats Bader on Saturday. It would be too cruel for him to end up a loser to Ryan Bader.
Bader.... :-X
So it's in...
Khabib fined 500k and suspended for 9 months. Will be reduced to 6 months if he does an anti bullying campaign xD

The rumour has been going around since the end of November and the latest part is RTE are being sued for the name leak or something about him getting arrested the photo that was going around on whatsapp. I would imagine the allegation is either bullshit or it was cooked up by his PR team to get more people talking because he's more active then ever on facebook and things like that lately whereas all last year before the fight and in the run up to it he rarely posted anything. As much as I dislike him I obviously don't want to see him getting done for anything like this and I want to see him fight at least once this year.

Khabib the one that get's bullied then gets done for bullying . So do these suspensions start from the night of the fight or from today?
Saturday night was very disappointing 35sec and as much as I like knockouts one fight went the distance, one made it to the second round and the rest were first round finishes :-\. I was washing my hands at the sink when the Fedor fight started and it was over by the time I sat down >:(.
Aldo fighting now on Saturday. I going to watch that bare knuckle Mexico Vs. the US on Friday night they had a PPV last Saturday as well anyone else been watching it?

If the stuff I saw and read from my friend is true.. it's game over on a whole different level. Hopefully not but if so... fuck! Anyway enough on that shite.
Yeah that Khabib bully thing actually made me laugh.. can't wait to see it!
"hey.. u guyz,... don't bully.. is not nice... or i come smesh u! Bully is no 1 bullshit"
The suspensions are retroactive so if Khabib does the bully thing, both him and McGregor will be back for April.
Also to add to that, Khabibs team mates Abubakar and Zubaira were also given one year suspensions and 25k fines.
10 Feb UFC 234
Whittaker v Gastelum
Adesanya v Silva
Whittaker v Gastelum I'll probably watch but tbh Adesanya v Silva... Anderson hasn't fought in two years. Has 6 fights between 2012-2017 in which he lost 5 of them. I can only assume he's coming back for the pay day and UFC want to give Adesanya more of a bump to his name by having beat 'a legend' etc
Then 18 Feb, Ngannou V Cain :o Really hope Cain comes back like a freight train. Be interesting to see how the time off (2.5 years) will effect him, although I think he's been pretty much in DC's camp helping him so he should be good to go.
3 Mar UFC 235 - What a card
Jones V Smith
Woodley V Usman
Lawler V Askren
Garbrandt V Munhoz
Torres v Zhang
Stephens v Zabit
That'll be worth staying up till 5am for tbh
Also watch the UFC 235 presser.. it's probably one of the funniest pressers so far.
MVP vs Daley.. The biggest loss in that fight fell on the people who sat through it zzzzz
Rumours of Tony Ferg v Max for an interim belt doing the rounds for UFC 236 .
That could be a great fight if it goes ahead.
A true true great gone today. At least he went on his own terms. GSP of course.
Whilst a ferguson Holloway fight could be great it seems they are pissing people off.
Both Porier and Iaquita have called for their release. Porier deserves his shot but they keep fuckin with him.
So many of the current roster seem to be st odds with the UFC brass. It's all going to shit.
QuoteA true true great gone today. At least he went on his own terms. GSP of course.
Obviously a legend in the sport but for me he quickly became annoying with all that legacy fight shit at the end. He came came back to fight Bisping cause he knew it was an easy fight for him and then fucked off. He knew full well he wasn't going to defend the title. Even this latest announcement has a high chance of being some type of play to get the UFC to shell out more money etc
QuoteWhilst a ferguson Holloway fight could be great it seems they are pissing people off.
How so?
QuoteBoth Porier and Iaquita have called for their release. Porier deserves his shot but they keep fuckin with him.

I'd say most of them are just fed up of all the shite going on. They know that they can keep fighting and winning regularly and fighters like GSP/Silva/McGregor/Lesnor etc can just turn up and skip the queue because all that matters is how much money the UFC can make.
They probably want to to One Championship where they will do pretty well position/money and just in general.
Obviously like any company the UFC want to make as much money as possible but it's just silly now. If you aren't a huge draw it doesn't matter if you win/lose/shit rainbows.. you'll be bumped to the side for a part time fighter who might bring in more money.
Look at Stipe who's had some issues with Dana/UFC in his time there. Lost to Dos Santos then came back and beat Hunt > Aslovski > Werdum (won belt) > Overeem > Dos Santos > Ngannou (
where Dana etc pretty much spent it hyping up Ngannou and not a thing for the defending champion) and after the most title defenses in the division lost at the end of the first round to Cormier in July 2018.
And what did he get for all that.. sweet fuck all. Cormier has just been fucking around with the belts and moaning about Jones. Wants his last fight to be Lesnor who's not fought since 2016 and lost the last 3 fights... pissing hot (shocker) in the last fight against Hunt just to make even more money than he already does for fights.
A bit of shit show tbh
After watching Kron, I think it would be great to see an alternative to UFC. It has turned into a bit pf a slug fest and the martial arts side of things has been edged out. It more resembles kickboxing these days with some grappling thrown in here and there.
Woyld love to see rounds begin from where they ended i.e. if ur mounted on the ground, you start from there. Would also be great to get rid of the gloves. People say that it protects the fighter, but with the amount of wrapping going on under the glove, I think it, again, hinders a lot of BJJ/grappling. Those who bay for blood wouldn't be happy, but I think we would have a far more real spectacle. Also, possibly longer rounds. This whole suffering it out until.the bell stuff, it's completely against the founding ideas of the sport.
It 100% feels like working to achieve and deserve a title shot has gone out the window. As stated on other posts it's business but there should still be some form of legitimacy to title shots.
Legacy fights etc are nice but I it's all they seem to be interested in now. How yer man beating Silva puts him in line for a middleweight belt shot is beyond me.
With all the second coming promotion they put into Ngannou he now says the fool White has not spoken to him in a year. I'd imagine the Fertitta bros are happy they got out. The shitload of money helps but you know what I mean.

The only reason for the gloves is to protect the fighters hands. Without gloves your hand would break a lot easier during a fight. Back in the old days before gloves the fighters had to pick and choose punches because too many and your hand is gone. You also get less head shots with no gloves which also makes things safer because you hit someone on certain parts of the head 9 times out of 10 your gonna fuck your hand up. The only thing about no gloves is it's lot easier to cut some.
I think Tank Abbot was the first person to wear gloves, then you had people like Don Frye, Coleman, Couture etc. wearing them then around 1999 the commission made gloves mandatory so I don't think we will ever see a UFC again without gloves thanks to the commission.
I agree no gloves would be great and so would making headbutts and knees on a grounded opponent (like the pride days) legal again and bringing back one night tournaments. The main problem is the people who decided what is and isn't legal for the most part have no experience fighting are just general doctors and medical staff.
The problem with longer rounds is people will just drop to the ground and do the bare minimum to see the timer out as well. Not many of the referees stand up fighters when they should for inactivity on the ground, sure just watch some of the first superfights back at the beginning with Ken Shamrock and Royce, Taktarov etc it was because of the way fights like these ended up going that they started to bring in rounds.
All fair points. I think the hand break issue is exactly why gloves should be taken away. I know it won't happen but it would make for compelling viewing. I love old Bas rutten fights, pancrase, all that stuff. Headbutts should def be allowed. I think the current rules definitely favour wrestlers and ground and pound. Would be great to see that reversed somewhat.
UFC 235, just on the main card
Garbrandt V Munhoz - Not overly bothered about this one
Lawler V Askren - I really hope Robbie wins this one and just destroys Askren.
Woodley V Usman - Can't see Usman being a problem for Woodley
Jones V Smith - Wouldn't it be mental if Smith KO'd Jones. It would be like Holm v Rousey, Serra V GSP etc
Just looking @Smith he's had 44 fights since 2008 with 31/13, averaging about 3 or 4 a year! He's only 2 behind Cowboy whos been going since 2006 with 35/11.
I hope and pray that Robbie Lawlor wins and wins well. There is nothing likeable about Askren.
With regards to Woodley.... he is a phenomenal athlete but he so BORING. He also moans about everything and he is now a hip hop artist. I would like to see him lose just to see if he has the fire that made him a champ the first time.
Rooting for Smith big time as Jones is a tool. Extremely talented but all this Jesus is gives me power and legacy shit is old. I want to see him laid out.
Yep really hope Lawler does it. Respect Woodly too, he's a tough fuker. Reckon he'll smash the other lad.

Yep UFC fight pass is one of the most fairly priced subscriptions I have ever had all the Pride, pancrase, UFC and loads of other things most of have never even heard of. I remember seeing an interview with Bas he said the UFC tried to get him for a long time before he joined but he thought the UFC was too dangerous so he kept putting off signing a contract with them. Have seen it mentioned in a few interviews and I definitely think making headbutts illegal was the downfall of Mark Coleman before Maurice Smith beat him he looked unstoppable.
Can't wait for Saturday will be interesting to see how Askren fares haven't seen him fight before but he seems to have a big reputation. Will be rotting for Jonny Bones in the main event can't wait to see him in action again.
Good to see Sky has Bellator now. Going through my first free month of Dazn now and while it's great getting all the Bellator prelimns I don't think ill be keeping the subscription because Bellator and some of the boxing is all I would watch on it.
All of the UFC and Bellator has been very disappointing so far this year so hoping for big things on Saturday night.
The fuckin look Lawler gave after that ass slap... he was fucking PISSED. Askren got an achievement notification after that...
"CONGRATULATION - YOU HAVE UNLOCKED 3 ROUND ROBBIE LAWLER #FYL"
Damn I hope Robbie fucks his world up
Christ I'm so fucking bothered over that fight...
WTF is going on tonight :O
UFC 235 Spoilers below

Sanchez V Gall - Gall had nothing on him at all. I'm guessing they put Gall (5-2) against a long timers like Sanchez (29-11) to see if Gall could get the win and push himself up but he looked totally out his dept in that fight.
Walker V Cirkunov - 36 seconds! And then the dope goes and fucks his shoulder up trying to do that snake roll thing.. MORTO!
Stephens V Zabit - Stephens won that, really surprised the judges gave it to Zabit or did they just get impressed for his attempt at the pettis cage kick.
Garbrandt V Munhoz - I think they should call him Cody 'no learn' Garbrandt from now on. He's just become so well known for being too emotional in the ring and BANG.. again he gets taken out again. 3 fights in a row he's been KO/TKO'd within 1-2 rounds for similar shit.
Torres V Zhang - Was actually a good fight, Zhang seemed so strong in their but Torres really took it o her and ripped her down well. Honestly though Torres won that.
Lawler V Askren - WHAT THE ACTUAL FUUUUUCK. I was screaming at the tv at like 5am! What an absolute shit show. Robbie was fucking destroying him. He was getting out of the clenches etc and slamming Askren around like a rag doll. He would have gotten out of that position 110% but NOPE.. in comes Herb and 'oh hey can you talk to me and let me know you are OK while the other guy has his arm across you chin.. oh your hand went a bit limp... HE'S DONE U GUYZ'.
So pissed over that and Askren fucking ran from it fast, immediately 'oh im just here to fight, im not the referee'. His streak was done if it hadn't been for that shit stoppage. I will say when you look at the live footage robbies arm goes limp but it was just after he took it down from the cage so you might think he was out.. but ffs every other part of him was still going. Agggh so pissed.
Askren saying he doesn't want to fight him again... no shit you don't.
Woodley V Usman - Just WOW ??? Was not expecting that at all. TBH at the start when Tyron was coming in and waiting for the fight to start, he didn't look as 'determined/focused' as he looked in previous fights like with Till.
But he pretty much dominated the whole thing. By round 3 Woodly just looked like he had nothing left whatsoever like all his confidence was left and he was just trying to survive. Really amazed by that fight.
*Ref Mark G was standing them up so much though even the commentators were like wtf is he doing.
But even when he did Usman was up and walking straight for Woodley like a psycho ex girlfriend.. he was on him like a bad rash. Crazy
Jones V Smith - Fair fucks to Smith, he powered through a lot of shit. Got a bit boring towards the end but Jones just had him. Jones had something like a 12 inch reach advantage which is just mental!
Just to add... I wonder if Woodley is going to go down the Stipe route now and just get left to the side giving all the shit between him and Dana
Only caught the two title fights, Robbie/Askren and Cody/Munhoz fights.
Two title fights were kinda boring, I feel like Jones took it easy on Smith.
Wasn't expecting Woodley to get outwrestled like that either, before this fight I'm pretty sure he was tied for highest takedown defense percentage with Jones.
Felt bad for Robbie there, that suplex he hit on Askren was badass, tbh, if it had been stopped during that ground n pound it would have been less controversial than the actual stoppage, Askren went limp a couple of times during it.
I'm not a fan of Cody but I felt bad that the fight went down hill for him after the clash of heads, seems like it pissed him off and he threw all game plan out the window. Three straight KO losses for a young fighter is pretty bad too. It was a great fight while it lasted though.

I actually fell asleep after R3 ended in Jones V Smith fight and woke up start of R5
Regarding Cody, he doesn't look like he's learning from his losses. That's 3 in a row where he's gotten 'emotional' and gotten KO/TKO'd.
He's going to continue that streak until he learns to handle the fight better. You see what he's like when he's full of confidence like the in the Dominick Cruz fight. Clean, Smooth and on point with all his shots. It's like as soon as he takes some shots or it gets difficult he drops his game plan and starts swinging.
Sanchez put the young pup back in his box!!
Walker looks like he will be a force but need to see him take a few slaps first.
I wanted to tear my hair out during the Robbie fight. Askren was all but dead yet he let him take more wallops. Retarded stoppage.
Woodley can go shite. He was outclassed and Godard just seemed like he wanted them to leather each other.
Jones.... away and shite too.
Garbrant is throwing his career away. Simple as that.
Finally the years first good event.
Fair play to Ben Askren even though the win was controversial he worked a miracle coming back from that slam and hiding he got at the beginning of the fight. I love the way he keeps giving Dana White shit now at every opportunity.
Ben only got $3500 for that fight.
Glad to see that gimp Mickey Gall get a hiding I can't stand him and apparently now Sanchez is saying that Gall bit him during the fight.
Johnny Walker looks promising but my god is he a retard he's not funny at all and seems to think he is.
Woodley was very disappointing.
Jonny Bones did the job convincingly as expected who even has a chance of beating this man? Fair play to Smith for giving it a good shot and not taking the easy way out after the knee. He won me over after that fight.
Oh god, just had the best mma related experience ever. I really wished I'd recorded it.
Girl I live with had a friend over, guy in his 30's.. never seen MMA just heard all the stuff about mcgregor, mayweather and what not but never actually sat and watch any fight.
He said he'd like to may get into watching it as it sounded cool etc .. so I asked him if he wanted to check out a fight while he's here. He's all for it so I bring him up to my room to watch.
Not putting on any conor ones or the likes... stick on the Robbie Lawlor V Rory McDonald fight..
20mins of WTF.... WTF... WHY THE FUCK IS THIS ALLOWED... HE'D FUCKING DYING.. STOP!! OMG HIS LIP... HIS FACE!!!!!
Safe to say he's not gona delve any further into MMA
Only saw the headline fight but safe to say Masvidal is a stud. Thought he was gone after that knock down but he came back and just laughed Till into another planet ???
Also that fight backstage with him and leon edwards, he lit Edwards up for talking shit :-[
"yeah i had to give him the 3 piece and soda, then glide off"
Till got blasted big time. He popped Masidval but to no avail. Where does Till go now? Prelims soon I'd say.
That backstage slapping was like a big fuck off th shit talking.
Gunnar Nelson can't seem to get a string of wins together.
With Till I don't know, I wonder if they will look at moving him up a weight class. I mean the wonderboy fight was the first time in a long time he cut cleanly and there was talks even from him about moving. But like a number of fighters he knows the advantage he has fighting in that class so not surprised he's staying. Wanting to hold on to that win streak.
I don't think he'll be gettin bumped to prelims just yet. as out of 20 fights, he has 17wins , 1 draw and the last two were losses. 1 was to the champ Woodley hows a fucking bheast and then this one to masvidal. All the recent trash talk he started doing to get a fight was just silly and he looks even worse now for losing like that, if he's hitting the brick wall now progression wise then he will need to make some changes in order to contend with the others and learn he can't just overpower people.
Yeah I didn't see that fight but 3 out of his 4 losses are decision losses but yeah, it seems hes up, down, up for the last 5 years. He seems to be stuck down the chain
Before USEDA announced it Dillashaw jumps onto social media and talks about the 'adverse' findings in recent test and gives up his belt.
That is a whole new level of dodgey!!!
Suspended for a year & 10k fine for use of a prohibited substance
wow what a KO last night! Thompson dominating then... 'KADOOOSH'
This channel has the inst footage Thompson was recording in the hospital later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEHh8DGylmI
Watch the end section @ 9:30
It was a great KO. Pettis last few fights have been great to watch.
My IPTV froze just as wonderboy hit the ground. What a knockout just came out of nowhere I definitely thought Wonderboy was going to have an easy win with the way the fight was going. Bellator on Friday was good as well. Good so see Sky Sports are showing it now just wish they would show the prelims. Last Friday's event started on Sky at 9pm my time and was over by 11 :-\
I thought Wonderboy was going to pick him apart for 5 rounds but what a finish!!
Did ye see the footage of DW praising Pettis for doing what Woodley failed twice to do!
Also Woodley calling out McGregor is a bit of a stupid move. With his hippin and hoppin he should be looking for a proper welterweight fight.
I'd say Woodley knows it's going to be a looooong time before he gets a title shot tbh! Given the shit with him and Dana over the years. Look at poor fuckin Stipe and he hadn't nearly as much crap with Dana and the guys been tossed to the side over some money fight shock with the annoying fuck lesnor.
Woodley is probably looking for McGregor for the 'money fight' to tide him and any new albums over in the meantime.
I've heard more crap about McGregor V Diaz 3 popping up again and I honestly don't care about it. I don't think McGregor is ever going to come back and fight like a normal fighter, it'll end up being like GSP just back in for again a big money fight and that's it if even. It's just been a downhill shit show since beating Alvarez back in Nov 2016.
McGregor just posted his retirement on Twitter. Not the first time he's done that tbh and a high chance of it being a move to get what he wants from urx again.
Promoting his next fight probably.
I like how DW has congratulated him on his retirement and called his bluff if it is the case.
Despite having all the money he needs I can't see him being able to deal with not being the centre of attention. Realistically how many talk shows will have him on after the dust settles. He does not seem like the kind of person who could survive without the limelight. If he is gone he went out on a beating that put him in his box. No amount of money will erase that.
Fairly sure he still has fights left on his contract anyway so I can see this being the same thing as he did before.
Or it's a GSP type retirement where he'll come back for the 'big/money' fights.
Just the usual attention seaking regardless. Really stupid way he put it too.. "I've decided to retire from the sport formally known as 'Mixed Martial Art' today. "
Bare knuckle Fighting Championship 5 last night was so good especially the main event. I don't like Artem Lobov but have to hand it to him what a fight. Now he's fighting Paulie Malignaggi at BKCF 6 in June that's going to be insane.
I just saw one or two clips from it and it looked terrible. They were just swinging all over the place. Artems face after was horrible.
Zero interest in it myself. Horsing Malignaggi into it pushes my interest into the minus scale, awful dope.
:abbath: Hail Lord Artem :abbath:
That Paulie fella is supposed to be fighting Artem in June!! That seems like a quick turnaround for somebody who's head got clattered. I don't follow boxing so I was unaware of Magnipaulie before all this commotion. Surely as a pro boxer he will beat the balls off Artem no matter how flowybhe stays!

Your the only person I have come across who thinks it was terrible watch the fight from start to finish it was great. The entire event was great Chris Leben knockout was almost identical to when he knocked Silva out.
Yes Paulie was actually a decent boxer as well I am surprised BKFC is able to afford to him. Can't have been more than 500 in the audience at last Saturdays event. Artem did surprise me and was a lot better than I expected, I still expect Paulie to win but you never know. I am sure McGregor will also be getting involved in the run to the fight which will get it plenty of attention so investment in Paulie may prove to be great for BKFC. In many ways it reminds me of the UFC when it was first starting out.
BJ Penn's wife after filing for restraining order claiming years of physical and sexual abuse.. jesus :/
No mention of the main and co main fights at the weekend,Two brilliant fights.
Yes the entire event was great. So happy Holloway lost and so annoyed Israel won. I can't stand Israel and he seems to have a major chip on his shoulder. Hopefully he loses the title fight. Happy for Dustin that he has finally won something but he doesn't stand a chance against Khabib. I can't see anybody being able to beat Khabib.
Man Perry V Alex Oliveira was a great fight.
Perry V Oliveira given co headline with Hardy who's last fight as a DQ and his previous 3 wins were in dana's contenders series versus some russian lifeguard lad who fought in the ufc 2016/2017 and lost both, one a fight in some random promotion this year and now back again to lose as co healline. wasn't even a fight.
I cannot get the UFC's stupidity when it comes to certain fight promotion/positioning. I get business etc but all this shit does is hurt your brand just like the CM Punk fuckery.
UFC so fucking thirsty to promote 'famous' people they just shit on anyone else trying to fight their way up the ladder.
Also Hardy is now going by 'the prince of war' ... the fucking CRINGE
It would have been wild if that fella had made Souza tap. When he went to the ground with him I thought he would get subbed but fair play to him for going for it.
That Hardy fella! I don't know anything about him really. I can't see him getting past anyone near the top.
Mike Perry sounds like he has some form of brain damage or he has a few cans before he comes out. Taking all those wallops can't be good.
Glover Tex is a savage. Plain and simple.
So it appears Brock has 'retired' and that means they are looking at DC V Stipe in Aug.
About fucking time tbh... all this pissing around over a wwe fighter with a shift record and an even shittier dopin record.
Really hope Stipe knocks DC the fuck out this time around.
Savage fight last night with Iaquinta and Cowboy. Cowboy was so good but gotta hand it to Iaquinta , he took it all and kept coming back. Most other fighters would have been out by round 3.
Brunson V Theodorou was fairly uneventful. Lost interest by 2nd round!
Few other good fights and a few stinkers too. Canadian crowd booin the fuck out of so many fights hah
Iaquinta took that front kick to the face and just kept coming!
It looks like Cub Swanson's tone has passed . A lot of miles on that clock now. I wonder how these fighters will fare down the line. Gym wars, the actual fights, weight cuts etc.
Babalu said in an interview recently that he is basically fucked.
UFC 237
Didn't watch it live and haven't seen it all yet
I heard that Aldo looked terrible in his fight V Volkanovski.
The Silva V Cannonier fight was .. I don't know! I honestly though he was faking it but either way I really don't care about Silva fighting.
Really unlucky for Rose, seemingly if she'd let go of the arm she would have gone to her back and not on her head/neck. Looked pretty brutal but apparently thats what Andrade is known for doing. Prior to that Rose was absolutely destroying her. Shame
The Brazilian crowd were their usual selves. You hear about how proud they are and want respect.. yet they give sweet fuck all to anyone else themselves.
I think it's fair to say Aldo is officially past his prime. In his prime he was built for picking apart wrestle-boxers, was a bit odd to see him not have an answer for Volkanovski.
Still the most underrated GOAT candidate though imo.
Volk vs Max should be good.
And MVP got absolutely REKT against Douglas Lima. About time tbh. A KO like that might get him to cop on to himself a bit now!
That slam was brutal! After the first round I thought Andrade would be gone by round 3 but brutality prevailed.
The fans booing Cannonier was just bullshit. It's not like he cheated. He kicked his leg in half and Silva couldn't continue. Tough shit.
Aldo. He seems like he wants it he doesn't want it he wants to retire he wants a super fight. If ever there was somebody that needs a camp change it's him.
Some interesting fights scheduled for the summer.
Tony ferg v Cowboy
Holloway v Edgar
Pettis v Diaz
Tony ferg v Cowboy: If it actually happens I do hope cowboy sorts him out fast
Holloway v Edgar: Be surprised if it goes any other way other than
Pettis v Diaz: will it actually happen though!
Diaz should be able to handle Pettis. He is too hot and cold to maintain any win streak. If it's 5 rounds Diaz should but the slap on him and break him down.
I hope Cowboy runs through Ferguson.
It's now or never for Frankie.
RDA just won hero of the year award by walking out to Fight to Survive from Bloodsport.. I bounced out of my seat when it came on   :abbath: :abbath: :abbath:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ayydAx-xBg
RDA shut Lee down completely. I wonder what's next for Lee.
Sage Northcutt got SMASHED!
Kevin Lee with only 1 win in the last 4 fights. Similar to Mike Perry who managed to get his 2nd win out of his last 5 recently.
Talk so much shit but when it comes to it, when you are losing consistently you need to turn the shit talk off and get your shit sorted.
Lee could probably do with a change of attitude and camp. He gassed so quickly in that fight, you could see his breathing after the first round was like he was after doing 3 already. Surprised RDA didn't end it sooner tbh but probably playing smart and it worked.
Fight Night 153, be interesting to see how Smith v Gustafsson goes.
Just checking out the 238 main card. Really hope Cowboy fucking destroys Ferguson. Ferguson is just bloody annoying and I'd love to see cowboy get a title shot. Just seems to be when he's not feeling it it ruins him getting to where he could be. As a champion I don't think anyone could not get behind him..
As for the headline fight, Cejudo... just no. When he talks, the cringe rivals Joanna Jedrzejczyk's.
Jesus.. apparently the punch fractured his skull!!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2md_wL7DxtE
Yoel Romero sued a supplement company back in early 2018 I think it was and just won his case.. 27.5 million for the tainted supplements that caused him to fail his USEDA test!!! D: :o :o :o
Kowalkiewicz v Grasso: TBH Kowalkiewicz seems to have 1 foot out the door already. She took so much unnecessary damage in the fight for 3 full rounds. Can see her finish up in the not to distance future.
Sterling V Munhoz: Great fight, Sterling was like something out of the Matrix. Great technique to watch.
Suarez V Ansaroff: I think everyone had Suarez pegged for this but while I'm not overly familiar with Ansaroff's previous fights, she really nullified Suarez on so many occasions. Honestly thought it could have gone either way! Good fight though.
Tuivasa V Ivanov: When the heavyweights go into a 3rd round you tend to be watching two guys gassed out hoping for the lucky shot rather than a game plan. TBH while they were fairly gassed Ivanov had some serious speed in his punches but def won that. I think Tuivasa doesn't take things as serious as he should and he's on a 2 fight losing streak now. While he seems to be popular enough, fighters are getting cut quickly these days so he'd really wana hope for a win next fight.
Yan V Rivera: Jesus the speed of Rivera's kicks, they actually look sped up when he'd miss. Really good fight, Yan was really on form for him throughout, knocking Rivera down in the last 5 seconds of R1 & 2, came close to ending it a few times.
Tony V Cowboy: >:( ffs like, had been really looking forward to this. Cowboy had R1, Tony got Cowboys timing down by then and messed him up in R2. That punch after the bell at the end was pretty shitty, it came pretty late but despite what dopes on line are saying, wasn't the reason for the stoppage. Cowboy blew his nose between R2/3 and blew out his eye. He even said it himself, a fucking stupid thing to do for someone of his EXP. Really shitty way to end what most people were calling the real headline fight. Cowboy seems to have fucked himself over again :abbath:
Shevchenko V Eye: Shevchenko dominating in R1 although I was hoping this wouldn't go to decision and Shevchenko would destroy her. ...I wasn't let down :o Head kick from hell, Eye went to another dimension :-[
Went to bed after that, cba watching last fight tbh
Cowboy looked slow compared to Ferguson. I don't think he would have pulled it back.
The head kick from Shevbullet was savage.
The jones fight is Ppv through BT sports. It seems the numbered events are going down that route for U.K./Irish viewers. Fuck right off. Pay for the sports package then pay more for the bigger cards. I could be wrong but I don't see that model working here despite claims of mma being on the rise.
Would love to see Ferguson kill the Khabib hype once and for all
The Fergerson - Cowboy fight was good as expected except for the shit ending. Fuck Fergerson for that punch after the bell. He handled it well at the end and managed to get the crowd back on his side. I hate Henry so much, not many care about him winning the titles in what are practically women's divisions.
Stupid greedy move by BT the UFC isn't popular enough for PPV in Ireland and England so it's just going to push more people away. I remember when I was younger and use to watch wrestling all the PPV's were free on Sky then recently I heard they started charging for them so I guess it was only a matter of time before it started with the UFC. IPTV is the way to go. Where I currently am it costs about $70 for each UFC PPV and now since January you also have to subscribe to EPSN to even have the option of buying the PPV.
I went to UFC 206 got decent seats and what we paid for tickets was about $10 more than what it would have cost to sit at home and watch the PPV it's ridiculous. I know Dana and the lads are as greedy as it gets but if they started something similar to what Bellator have with Dazn having a flat monthly fee of about $20 and you get everything they would clean up.
I have only missed watching one UFC event live over the last year and that was the fight night in Sweden recently because I got the times mixed up and I haven't paid for a single event but if they started a reasonably priced subscription type thing I would definitely buy it. 237 only got 100,000 PPV buys.
I cancelled my eir sports this morning. The fella on the phone told me 2 others before me just cancelled for the same reason.
He probably should not have said it but it goes to show the system was working as it was.
I know someone else who cancelled this morning and the customer care rep they spoke to apologized to them and said they were embarrassed by what is happening.
My all time favohrite Machida..what a win. Chael Sonnen, what a competitor, went out on his shield. Just watched the Bellator highlights there, looked like a great night of fighting. Dillon Dannis won, though I haven't seen the full fight. I really enjoy the Bellator stuff almost more than UFC now..UFC has great quality but Bellator feels more old school or something. Great stuff.
Dillon Danis was in there with as a complete amateur or near enough to it. So I've read anyway. I'd love to see Machida back on top.
Dillon Danis
Fights 1 fight 14 months ago.. spends said 14 months talking unmerciful shite.. wins another fight and talks about McGregor
Get out!
Not mma but Artem shut Paulie up last night.
GOAT.
Rafael Lovato JR excellent last night in Bellator. The bare knuckle thing is so poor that I doubt it will last another year. Artem an animal, fair play to him.
The bare knuckle is great. The main event was a bit of a let down Paulie was robbed but the first two fights had brutal knockdowns especially the second one. If they can manage to get a TV deal and get away from the PPV which is what the owner said he want's to do then I think it will get bigger.
What was JDS thinking turning around while Ngannou was swinging those hammers?
Cormier or Miocic would wreck either of them.
Guys just seem to shit the bed against Ngannou, JDS winged that overhand worse than Overeem did against Ngannou, it's like they're genuinely scared of him.
I like Francis but I really think he seems to be getting by on luck and not skill I really don't want to see him becoming champion unless he has a good long fight were he shows his skills. Seeing his recent fights also only highlights how great and underrated Stipe actually is. I'd say he's been training like a mad man for the last year for this fight in August.
I don't see Miocic getting past Cormier unless Cormier gets caught. Skill wise DC is above him. I think it's a farce that he is getting a rematch when he was beaten so soundly last time out. More UFC nonsense.
Back to Ngannou. It's all power which is crazy crazy power but DC would kill him and Miocic already did.
Quote from: Circlepit on July 03, 2019, 06:59:54 PMI think it's a farce that he is getting a rematch when he was beaten so soundly last time out. More UFC nonsense.
*my reply seems to have been missing here
Sorry but that's utter shite. With the most defenses for HW he more than deserves a rematch to get his title back from Cormier. Getting KO'd near the end of round 1 isn' a reason for him not to get a rematch.
- Cormier is getting 3rd match against Jones and he's list 2, im no huge Jones fan but he had DC down with or without picograms etc Stipe deserves a rematch more than most and other champions etc get a shit ton more rematches and not been
- Joanna Jedrzejczyk got a rematch 5 months after getting wrecked by Rose in 3 mins.
etc
The only reason we're a year on is DC has been fucking around with all the lesnor shite and what bloody weight class he's in and the fact that Dana etc don't particular like Stipe and don't see him as being marketable.
Despite all the shite about Jones I do like that he's out there actively trying to get fights etc sine getting back. Dec 2018, Mar 2019, July 2019. If he keeps his shit together both personal and work related he's got it.
Yeah but who else has even a slight chance at Cormier?
Cormier did too many eye pokes in the last fight. I think Stipe really has a good chance.
Win or lose I reckon this is DC's last fight because we all saw how badly he takes losing after the last Jon Jones fight and if he wins the only other fight for DC is Jonny Bones who would destroy DC. That would kill him retiring on a loss to Jon.
Are any of you ordering the Jones fight ? It seems that it has to be ordered online as we live in Ireland and as a result it can't be recorded!! Cunts.
I stand by my point. Miocic had done nothing to warrant a rematch.
Luckily I get to watch the entire thing in the pub 8). Everyone should stream it it's very easy to get links, anyone who buys it is just setting a very stupid precedent. If you pay for this fight soon you will be paying for every PPV.
Pm me a streaming link and pretend you see explaining it to a child. Please. Please.
Links won't be up until it starts and I won't be home then just google "ufc 239 streaming reddit" you will have to go through a few links but eventually you will find one.
Fedors crazy brother is fighting Rumble Johnson at BKFC 10. That will be great.
Some great fights on this UFC 239 card.
Just saw the fastest and most brutal KO ever.. literally jumped out of my bed!
Just catching up now, some crazy shit on this card .
Literally, what an insane main card
Nothing much on the early and prelim card tbh but jesus the main card really delivered here!
Chiesa V Sanchez: As mental and entertaining as Sanchez is,he seems to have the notion that all fights should go insane blasting as the one with Clay went. Fuckin Chiesa looked MASSIVE in there and even throughout as the commentators said he was ragdolling Sanchez around so much. Sanchez to his credit weathered so much and got to the end getting out of a shit ton of things in the process.
He just left his camp and jackson-wink to for what seems to be the same reasons many people are talking about in that place. I kinda felt bad for him, he didn't really have a corner team just one guy giving odd advice to him. The interview he did with Ariel the day before the fight was like an old promo from the WWF days.. fucking immense except for the fact that he seems to be serious.
You'd honestly worry for the guy as to where he's heads at :-\
Rockhold v Błachowicz: Rockhold going down the same way again. Dropping the right and takin a left. Got his jaw broke this time around though. I think they most vicious thing to hit him was Dana basically saying he should stick to modelling  cold fucker
Askren V Masvidal: Just pure insanity. I saw a comment on youtube that goes
- Askrens first UFC fight = nearly dies
- Askrens second UFC fight = actually dies
That was such a vicious blow and while some people are saying Masvidal's actions in the ring after were shitty. He made the point of fighters etc who are on social media talking mad shit about others can get away with it but then they do it to someone like him or like Conor with Khabib and they get thought a lesson not to do that shit again.
The interesting thing is that there is a good chance Masvidal may have to fight Colby and they train together etc
Masvidal said he's prefer not to fight him but will 8)
Holm V Nunes: I think everyone was wondering if Holly would pull another Rhousey kick etc but jesus Nunes was like 'hold my beer. let me try that shit' and kadooooosh out she went. Nunes is such a beast. She really has cleared out the division now. I'd love to see her against Bullet again as tbh those decision wins over her didn't seem right at all to me.
Jones V Santos: Jones played it really safe on this one which was a good fuckin plan. He knew full well that Santos could obliterate him with a punch right through the 5 rounds. People booing needed to fuck off and understand that both of them knew how it could go and weren't going to risk a belt win/loss just to run in and go balls out. Really good techincal fight, two of them in wheelchairs for those kicks.
Amazing main card where every fight delivered
I actually think Jones is starting to decline tbh, there's some guys coming up like Dominick Reyes and Aleksandar Rakic I think could take him out.
I think he's looked very deflated since returning from the suspension, I doubt he's gone clean, but either the problem is he has to take much lower doses than he was, or he's just getting older.
It's ridiculous to compare what went on with Ben and Masvidal with what happened with Connor and Khabib. Slagging is a part of the UFC these days and has been since Tito started it over 20 years ago. Masvidal just needs to suck it up and move on. Ben didn't say anymore than you would say to your mate in the local pub. What Masvidal did was shitty he would have known the minute the knee connected that the fight was over but still choose continue hitting an unconscious man.
AS for his mocking of Ben I don't care about that it was in bad taste but the punches are what was really uncalled for in my opinion.
Then on top of that playing the victim / race card saying Ben made fun of "my culture, my ethnicity" I don't remember Ben saying anything about that.

Fighters generally reach their peak in their early to mid 30's so Jon should just becoming into his best. It looked to me like he was over confident, underestimated Santos, didn't train as hard as he should of then about 30 seconds into the fight realized shit I made a mistake then played it safe for the remainder. Plus you have to remember that he has fought 3 times in 7 months who else has done that recently?
I find it hard to believe he's not clean as well USADA have to be all over him.
Gilbert Mendelez looked slow and old i hid fight. Just like it's passed him by.
Sanchez.... the Ariel interview from Friday or Saturday was gold but he to looked like somebody on the outside looking in. His cornermen said nothing other than go on in there and get him.
Rockhold!!! He always seems like a fella who was a bully in school and I'm delighted he got smashed. Go on away and shite.
MASVIDAL!!!!!!!!!! Body count said it best; talk shit get shot. Christ he nearly killed him.
I really though Holm would beat Nunes but is just too good for any of them now.
Jones. I doesn't matter now but who knows what would have happened if he didn't fuck his knee. Bisping said it best that it's easy to say throw more punches when you're not in there with Jones. I really think if he had gone for it Santos could have had him.
Overall a great card. MASVIDAL!!!!!!
At least Ben can see the funny side of it

I honestly don't know why Masvidal hated him so much or why the fans are being so harsh.
His 'trash talk' is ridiculously tame compared to the likes of McGregor, Bisping or Chael Sonnen.
A lot of it stems from the Robbie Lawlor fight. He got the snot beat out of him and managed to get a hold on Robbie, it looked like Robbie was out but he stood up as soon as Ben left go of him and there was a lot of shit over it. etc
Then Ben goes "is this the best you got" to the crowd/Dana at the end and then went on to refuse to give Robbie the rematch and that got up a lot of peoples noses.
From interviews Masvidal has said the reason he didn't like him was that he talked shit online but shut his mouth when you meet him in person and he hates that shit pretty much. Masivdal just comes across as having a different mindset on this type of shit. Not everyone is up for the shit talking regardless of the level or if its the thing to do atm.
Be interesting to see where Masvidal can go from here. Capitalize on this KO and all the slang he comes out with. However he's not been able to hold a win streak of more than 3 fights.
Wouldn“t be surprised if they dig up Masvidal“ s back garden in 20 years time and find a load of dead bodies..the guy has the look of a complete psycho. I never like the Dan Henderson punches on the ground when a guy is out, really nasty stuff. Don“ t think Askren warrants the hate, an amazing knockout all the same though. That“ s Askren and Darren Till now, but, as the man says, can he continue the streak longer than 2 wins?
The fight I want to see now is Nate vs Khabib :abbath:
Nates delusional as to how much he's worth so that's always going to be a factor. He got a taste of the McGregor money and things he's going to get that from the UFC.
Since 2009 his longest win streak has been 3 fights, his record is 19/11..

He just scourges people but it's all in good fun and I think Masvidal got frustrated because anyone who saw him on Joe Rogan a few months ago knows he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer so, he couldn't come up with good comebacks but he of course now he has the last laugh.
Ben just seems like a much tamer version of Shannon Briggs.
The one thing I do like about Masvidal is his anti social media policy.
Thiago Santos - ACL tear, meniscus tear, tibia fracture from the first round of the fight and he kept going for another 4 on that shit. Fuckin bheast of a lad. Out for at least a year it seems though.
Masvidal saying the only two fights he will take now are either a title shot or a fight against McGregor  I guess his run was good while it lasted.
Great showing by Faber at the weekend 2 years out, 40 years old and comes back like that.
Faber looked in phenomenal shape. He must have been keeping himself in full shape and training whilst he was semi retired.
The old McGregor Ching Ching is rearing its head again. I honestly never see that fight happening
It would be interesting to see how Masvidal would handle McGregors shite talk seeing as he thought Ben's was over the line. Good event last night wanted RDA to win and sickened that prick Greg Hardy won again can't stand him.
I'd never heard of Greg Hardy before his first UFC fight. He comes across like a clown. A powerful clown but still a clown. That prince of war moniker is embarrassing. There is an interesting article on mma fighting.com saying how he know will face somebody with far more experience. When he fights one of the more savvy chaps I think it will b prince of falling over. I would love to see Mark Hunt knock him out cold but they won't happen.
I also can't stand Jon Anik. His whole routine is terrible.
Yeah I didn't know him either think he came from the NFL just don't like him he has a similar demeanour to that other idiot Henry. One thing I will say is fair play to him when he won the guy he beat basically was saying he hated him in the build up to the fight and when Greg won he said didn't say anything bad about him or try to rub his face in it.
He's disliked for a few reasons such as
- 2 or 3 domestic violence charges he's received.
- He gave himself the moniker Prince of War
- He's only in the door and because of his previous career (as with cm punk) gets bumped up the card to a much higher place than fighters who've been at it much longer. 3 amateur wins > 2 on Dana's show, 1 on XFM then into the UFC
> Fight Night 143 the fight where he was DQ'd in. 2nd last fight of the night on the main card under Cejudo vs. Dillashaw.
> Fight Night 150 fight against some momo who looked lost in their .. and that fight was ABOVE Perry V Oliveria!!!
Anyone following this Richard Kiely V Venom Page bellator build up? Kiely is such a fucking clown , I really don't know how he manages to get these big fights. Literally all mouth and nothing to back it up with on the day. Check out venom pages Facebook, his roasting of Kiely is pretty good !
Oh frankie. That has to be his last crack at it. It seems like an eternity ago since he lost his belt.
tbh I've never really followed much on Frankie. Looking at his record online 23/7. Wondering if he's on a similar boat to Eddie Alverez.
I get the impression that while he's a great fighter etc he's just not at the top caliber level. Rankings have him @ 4th but then again the rankings have McGregor in 3rd for Lightweight, and he has only fought once in the last 3 years and that was a loss. So clearly they really mean fuck all
Eddie Alvarez was very lucky just now.
Alvarez really is an anomaly, he has struggled (and yet competed) against every level of competition there is in MMA.
I think his turning point was the McGregor fight he was made a show of and doesn't seem to have recovered. He really needs to get his act together for the final.
As much of a complete fucking muppet Colby is, he's still a good fighter. I really hope Robbie fucks him up badly. Robbie needs a solid win after that Askren fuckery.
I see cyborg has been dropped by the UFC now after all the shit that has been going on recently.
She fucked up by having her "production team" give her a clearly edited video of a converation with Dana after her last win. They edited it a d put captions on it to make it seem like he admits to lying.
She posted today an apology and the actual clip saying she didn't realise what had happened 😂
Would you ever fuck off.. I'd say more like Dana's lawyers gave her a quick call. What shit show, had a look at her insta and she's on throwing herself a pity party and limiting comments on her account.
Mort 4 all involved
What the fuck happened with Lawlor??
He should have clattered that idiot.
Miller made Guida look green!
..I'm not ready to talk about that yet

Lawler looked awful. I don't like Colby either but I hate Usman even more. I think Colby is the only one right now who can knock that chip off Usmans shoulder. Very WWF of the UFC to bring Colby up to the desk where Usman was after the fight.
https://twitter.com/bokamotoESPN/status/1157783609459167237
I saw that after, fucking cringe worthy. Same with Usman looking into the camera when Colby was mouthing off about him... jesus h fucking christ can ye stop lads.
Pure WWF shite.. when I see Ali whatshisface running his mouth all I can think of..

Jesus just looking at the stats on that fight
Colby V Lawler
198 - 81 total strikes
172 - 77 sig strikes
10 - 0 take downs
..what in the fuck!
Usman is painful to listen too. At least Colby Covington can provide a giggle. I agree with Askren's apology tweet.
Any of yis check out the Muay Thai title fight from the ONE FC card Friday?
It was Rodtang vs an English lad named Jonathan Haggerty, brilliant fight for anyone that enjoys high level striking. It's on YouTube.
TBH I'd be more interested if ONE are able to build a roster of high level Muay Thai/Kickboxers than their MMA stuff.
They're brilliant sports to watch but there's no organisation.
I've really not bothered with one yet, but with all the shite the surrounds UFC these days , its just putting me off it more and more.
There was always an element to it but it's become more like shitty reality series/wwf lately.
Probably should just watch the event and tune out EVERYTHING else relating to it, social media/interviews/after fight interviews etc etc
BKFC 7 live now for free on youtube. First fight over already and was great.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unQoYZJoe-k
Fuck me is Valentina Shevchenko boring, it's kind of annoying because she's clearly talented enough to get these girls out of there in a round if she wanted to, she's gone two competitive fights with Nunes despite a size disadvantage.
Also, Mike Perry's nose is never going to be the same again after that, that was gnarly.
He managed to slide out of a guillotine due to the amount of blood coming from his nose.
There is a shot of him taken from the side on his instagram. It looks like his face was mit through a grinder. I would be on the ground wailing if one of those savages slapped me never mind after a load of slaps. !
I can't wait to see the return of Nate this Saturday.
Romero V Costa: Yoel is 14 years older ???.. would expect him to destroy Costa regardless. Those two look like they melt USADA's piss tests
Pettis V Diaz: TBH I'm not overly bothered about it but I'd like to see Pettis submit Diaz. I get the impression if Diaz loses he'll disappear again until he can get the 3rd match with McGregor. Like his brother he just seems to have this massive chip on his shoulder
Stipe V Cormier: DC is a savage fighter, no doubt aboot it but he's been pissing around so much in the last year. Im going to retire... no I'm not.. maybe... I'll fight brock.. no just Jones etc etc I really hope Stipe KO's him clean and that's it :abbath:
I actually have a feeling Pettis KO's Nate.
They're both pretty inconsistent but Nate's been out for 3 years and Pettis has a history of finishing guys known for being durable. I also think he's going to chew up Nate's leg with kicks.
Footage doing the rounds of seemingly McGregor in some pub putting down glasses at the counter with a bunch of ould lads sat there.. one guy moves the empty glass away. McGregor put another and yer man moves it away again.
Few words had then 'McGregor' throws a punch at this guy who looks like 80 and 'McGregor' get's pulled away.
Edit* found it..

The cheeky horrible bastard.
Imagine not taking up the chance of a free glass of whiskey?
It happened in the Marble Arch in Drimnagh, some chin on the oul lad fair play, didn't even flinch .
Seriously though to sucker punch an old man is another level of scumbag behaviour.
As a fan of MMA I'm against the Khabib rematch, but I wouldn't mind seeing Conor put in his place again tbh.
That ould lad tested positive for performance enhancing pints!
The auld lad had a Proper hard jaw.
I love the way the auld fella just carries on as normal as McGregor gets hauled off by his hired goons!.
Was McGregor expecting a rapturous reception down the local on a sunday afternoon or what?,it wasnt exactly his target audience!,a load of auld fellas sitting at the bar smelling of stout farts!.
More whiskey defenses than title defenses !
He went from being a type of role model for a lot of people and an icon in sport... to being a complete fucking embarrassment and just your average scumbag fighting outside abrakabara on a sat night .
The only people he appeals to now are similar little scumbags in their 3 piece suits, drinking shitty whiskey think they are all well 'ard.

Yoel V Costa - That was just scary to watch. BIG MASSIVE CUNTS the two of em like! Yoel was doing this drunken monkey style of a fight and he took so many shots from Costa to the face it was like some terminator shit. I think they purely gave it to Costa due to his constant pressure throughout the fight. He just kept coming forward and seemingly they gave him that second take down. I honestly thought Yoel won that one.
Pettis V Diaz - The most notable thing for me was how gassed Pettis looked in the first half of R2 already. Was a decent back and forth, shame Pettis loose after such a big win over wonderboy. He's now on a 1win 1loss streak for exactly 3 years. Won't get much further if he can't get some streaks goin.
On Diaz's callout, calling out Masvidal purely due to the notoriety he has from the Askren fight and his popularity was smart imo. If he is back
DC V Stipe - STTTIIIPPPPEEE ::) Fuckin delighted for Stipe. Jesus DC and the eye pokes.. seriously the guy wangs on about 'legacy' but eye pokes more than fuckin Jones did in his fights and he spent enough time crying about that online.
DC was fighting so weird in it, his corner were getting pissed at him for keeping his hands down so much. He was just pushin Stipe's hands away and walking in which I think Rogan or Annick said made it seem like he wasn't worried about stipe hurting him. Stipe took some crazy shots and weathered the shit out of it. Looked so tired in R3 then BAM tko in R4.
The Diaz/Pettis fight was strange because, it was an entertaining fight, but at the same time I thought both guys looked terrible. Nate's boxing was pretty much nowhere to be seen, no 1-2's, no jabs, no combos, these were pretty much his bread and butter a couple of years ago. Before Pettis gassed he was countering Nate a lot, thought Nate got wobbled a couple of times in round 1 too.
I saw the Romero/Costa fight get described as like watching Godzilla in real life, that's a pretty accurate description .
I'm not the biggest fan of the heavier divisions but the Stipe/Cormier fight was pretty good, had a feeling Stipe would catch him after he started going in to the body. Had flashbacks to when DC fought Anderson Silva on like a days notice a couple of years ago and he dominated Silva for 3 rounds, but in the last 30 seconds Silva landed a body kick that hurt DC really bad.
So do you think we will see Cormier Miocic 3 ? All the talk of retiring and whatnot. The Jones loses and now this will surely eat st him. Having said that he seems to have enough outside of the cage to keep him busy. I would still love to see DC smash Jones.
The whole trilogy stuff is boring to me at this stage. I doubt DC will retire on a loss tbh
I can see him trying for Stipe again as it's probably a safer bet than Jones for him. But I'm not overly interested in seeing either again just like Nate v McGregor. I'd rather watch the divisions fight correctly and stop all this fuckin around with trilogies and changing weight classes for two belts etc
Great to see Nate back and delighted for Stipe what a gent.

Jones would beat him again which is why he won't fight him. I think he will take a few months out then try for a Stipe rematch then win or lose that he will retire. Nobody else for Stipe to really fight anyway the only one is Francis and I think Stipe would easily beat him again.
Ken Shamrock having his first bare knuckle PPV next month and he's fighting Mark Coleman in the main event. Mark Kerr is making a comeback for it as well. Guy Mezger is suppose to fighting at it also. I know some people will say they are all too old but I am looking forward I love BKFC so I think this will be great. Ken is still in great shape. Think ill pay for the PPV as well since the money is going to Ken and not some wanker like Dana White and it's also only something like $20.
Actually wanted to watch andrade v zhang but so used to 2ams I fucked up time zones.
Was not expecting a loss like that.. Wrecked her with clinch /knees. I'd say UFC are delighted she got the win in China for the market there.
So 242 is PPV as well seems BT hasn't learned it's lesson. They think because it will air at a decent time that they are justified in charging for it. I am glad my IPTV has sky box office as well.
Were the buyrates for the last bt Ppv published ? I'd love to know how many paid for it. This card is looks to be weaker on paper anyway.
No they never published them but the general consensus seems to be that they lost out big time because a lot of long time subscribers canceled. It seems to be the time that it will air at that has them thinking they will make money.
I can't watch it live so will have to stay away from my phone all day and then also have Bellator 226 that night which I will want to watch live gonna be a nightmare.
Just watched the main card. Most of the lead up fights were dull enough to me.
Felder V Barbosa was quite good. I thought that last take down would probably secure a decision win for barbosa but nope. He looked pretty pissed and surprised with the decision.
Some very odd scoring but sure that's what happens when it's left to the judges.. fair fucks to felder
Sadly Dustin V Khalabib went as everyone pretty much thought. He rocked him a bit in the middle but couldn't keep it going. And jesus fucking wept the anxiety I got when he locked the guillotine in :o Then the slippery little fucker got out. A mix of skill/sweat and Dustin been wrecked. He looked super tired going into round 2 but sure the fucking heat/humidity was meant to have been unreal there. All the journalists there were talking about how fucked they were just sitting there typing never mind in the ring.
Great respect from both of them at the end which is always good to see. But I honestly thought Khabib was jumping the ring and going to beat up Dana at first
Gotta be Tony next.. maybe 103rd times a charm and it will actually happen.
Main event was ok but basically went as expected. Khabib is one of my favourites but I felt so bad for Dustin he seems like such a down to earth bloke but no matter what he does he will never be able for Khabib. Nate Vs Masvidal should be good.
Bellator was a disappointment good event overall but the first stoppage for the Bader eye poke was shit.
I just happened to run into Rafael Lovato Jr. on the street yesterday an absolute gent. I wasn't sure if it was him at first because I wasn't sure why he would be where he was so I had to wait a few minutes before approaching him he was on holiday with his brother and his wife.
I follow Lovato Jr on Instagram(jesus did I just say that?), and his wife is a fine bit o schtuff. Always comes across like a gent.
Yes she has that central / south America look. He said he will have his first title defence early next year.
A lad I know from Drogheda is making his Bellator debut in Dublin at the end of the month.
What's his name? I'm from the Drog
Ciaran Clarke he's from Yellowbatter.
No he's from Yellobahhuh  fair play to him that's class
I was home for the fleadh and was talking to him he's excited. He signed with them last November for a four fight deal. They wanted to him to sign a few years ago but he wanted to get more amateur experience first.
I read this morning that Tyron Woodley wants to fight Khabib at catchweight. The whole lot of them reckon they have the answer fir beating them. Now that it's a couple of weeks removed I'd like to hear Porier's thoughts on the pressure and misery that Khabib brings.
Still whispers of GSP taking him on. If anyone could nullify him it's him.
I reckon Tyron could beat Khabib and beat him well. Have a look at Khabib's record. Apart from McGregor, and an injured and out of shape McGregor at that, the only guy who you would pick out of them as really really good is Rafael Dos Anjos. Barbosa and Michael Johnson have really patchy records despite being talked up at the time as real threats to him.
Now I'm not saying Khabib isn't an excellent fighter but the actual list of fighters he has fought isn't exactly mind boggling. McGregor, Woodley or GSP all faced far tougher opposition.
And yet we get a money fight with him and Poirier that he was always going to win. I want to see Ferguson in there. Woodley too. Even a fit and non drug addled(he looked awful) McGregor. I'd like to see him up against the best, because despite all tje talk, I'm not sure his record is quite as impressive as everyone is making it out to be.
Wouldn't bet on Khabib vs Kamaru, Colby or Tyron.
They're great wrestlers themselves and have size to go with it.
Any fight that isn't in Khabibs weight class shouldn't happen and zero interest in him fighting GSP. If its some sort of legacy fight shite that doesn't include the belt then sure go for it.
Woodley in the past said a number of times he wanted nothing to do with Khabib, in the 'that guy is crazy good' way. I think Woodley could be good against Khabib, his take down defense in some of this fights has been crazy good. He's got the wrestling and def the striking power to annihilate Khabib. But that's if its a prime woodley and not Woodley seemingly ignoring the game plan and trying to go for the big KO which is what happened against Usman.
But the only fight that can happen is against Tony.. if that falls through again due to injury etc then everyone should just fucking retire :-\
Also regarding McGregor being injured in the Khabib fight.. from how he was bollocking on about it to Ariel it sounded pretty bad.. then you see the footage of him on the night bouncing around on his feet and not even a slight bruise/swelling etc I call bollox tbh
100% agree with Khabib that he needs to come back and win 4 fights in a row and earn his way back to a title shot and not just jump into the middle of the action because he's popular... but sure that'll probably happen regardless
McGregor seems to be on permanent holiday from all his snaps. That whole McGregor fast nonsense is just that. He gasses quicker than i would !!!
It has to be Ferguson. It just has to be.
Dan Hardy wants to comeback against Nate Diaz. He must want to get battered!
Regarding Hardy.. Why? He's 37, hasn't fought in 7 years and he wasn't doing amazingly well towards the end of it. 4 fight losing streak, a decent KO and a decision win.
He has a decent number atm.. but I guess maybe its the fighter mentality and being around it all the time it probably gets into your head. If he does though he needs to do a few regular fights before jumping up to Diaz if that's what he actually wants
It's mental it's been 3 years since McGregor has won a fight, can't see him ever holding a belt again (for the best tbh). I'm a huge Ferguson fan but I think 2016 Conor would have been a horrible match up for him based on how much Tony gets hit, wouldn't bet on McGregor now.
He's not 'old' at 31, but he isn't young and he's inactive too, his fighting style is built around reactions and they only slow as you age. You look at someone like Anderson Silva or Roy Jones Jr., they were brilliant counter strikers but fell off a cliff when their reflexes started to slow down.
Right now I think Ferguson would make a fool out of McGregor. Take all the noise and out of the cage controversy away and we are left with a fella who never defended a belt. Some of his best years spent messing with piss poor whiskey and clothes. Its a pity we didn't get to see a focused attempt at him steamrolling through the lightweight division.
Khabib has said many time he won't fight outside his weight class and he will not move up or move down. He's not going to risk tainting his legacy by fighting someone like Woodley. Woodley would be better off focusing on getting his belt back from that prick Usman before Colby ends up winning it.
I think Tony is the only person who could potentially beat Khabib but I don't think he will get the job done. And with all the shit going on in his personal life he probably doesn't even care about a title shot back at the start of the year he was close to having a full mental breakdown.
I think GSP is the only man who will beat him if the fight ever happens. GSP said a few weeks ago both himself and Khabib wanted the fight but the UFC said no. They think the reason for them saying no is because GSP won the Middleweight belt then gave it up immediately. I guess they prefer people acting like Conor and holding up divisions for over a year.
Justin Gaethje hasn't a chance against Kahbib. I don't like Justin and i think he's overrated. He was sitting right behind me at the UFC 231 weigh in's and only one girl recognized who he was during the entire night . It was funny though what he said to McGregor last week.
Agreed, for all the hype, the division is not actually all that great. Nate hasn't fought at lightweight since 2015 and he's ranked 10. McGregor is number 3. Eddie Alvarez is 4 and Poirier is 5 all of whom McGregor has beaten comfortably. Kevin Lee and Gaethje and the likes just aren't top class. Tony Ferguson is at 2, a dangerous man, but again his last few fights have been against the likes of Cerrone who really should retire at this stage, Anthony Pettis and Kevin Lee, who are all good fighters but never going to hold the belt.
Honestly, apart from a fit hungry McGregor, the only fight I'd want to see against Khabib are Fergson, Diaz or GSP. All the rest is just padding.
I like Nate but I don't think he would have a hope against Khabib I think he's more of fan favorite than a great fighter (he is very good but I can't ever see him winning a title). Nick was much better. McGregor even at his best I don't think would have been able either he beat Eddie Alvarez who is now having his ass handed to him and got one lucky win last month at One FC. If the original RDA title fight with McGregor had of happened I don't think McGregor would have won.
Diaz would be a ridiculously easy fight for Khabib, Diaz always gets beat by wrestlers easily.
Fight Night 159 Main Card
1 tko, 2 decisions, 1 draw and the main event stopped after an eye poke after 15 seconds
Mexicans went mental after the stoppage
Yeah a pity, was looking forward to that fight.
Roll on UFC 243.
Ken Shamrocks bare knuckle event was good. Not a big fan of the pit for fighting though it would work better in a fight with takedowns you really need something to keep the fighters contained. It was great to see the return of one night tournaments.
Really funny when the winner of the tournament called Ken, Frank  I don't think Ken would be too happy with that.
Two Bellator events this Friday and Saturday. The MVP fight is going to be crazy I can't believe they are letting the Irish lad fight him.
Bellator Dublin on right now. Prelimns live on the app and the main card is on Channel 5 and Sky Sports.
Delighted to see Richard Kiely have his ass fucking handed to him. Deluded prick, his own biggest fan and the Conor McGregor shtick was beyond tiresome. I thought MVPs showboating was gas.
I dont really watch belator at all but heard about this fight.
Found it odd that MVP who's 14/1 and a fairly big name was fighting yer man who's 3/1 (3/3 if you count amateur)
Looking at his record it's like 'he knows' someone.
He had 2 amateur fights and lost both.
Then he's in BAMMA, 2 wins and he gets a title shot and loses in first round.
Then in belator wins first fight then next fight goes against MVP..
Just seems odd an unknown fighter getting these fights.
He mouthed off and they didn't have anyone to fight MVP that's how he got the fight. I have a feeling that whole event was built around Gallagher just like it was in February they were celebrating as if he had just won his first title and all he did was beat a nobody. I think Bellator keep pushing him in the hope that he will be the next Conor McGregor and be the one that makes the organisation massive.
I doubt it will ever happen Gallagher is not liked the only reason everyone was cheering for him was because he's Irish it could have been anyone out there and the reaction would have been the same. He wouldn't get that kind of reaction anywhere else.
Bellator last night was much better than Dublin the featherweight tournament has been great so far.
Whitaker!!!! What was he doing?
Bad gameplanning imo.
Looked like he was trying to pressure Israel because Gastelum had success doing it but Gastelum is much more used to fighting in the pocket against taller fighters.
He was really winging though, he was trying to take Isreal's head off with every shot.
Really disappointed with last nights result. I can't stand Israel he's even more annoying than McGregor. Had to turn the press conference off after 2 minutes he just started going on one of his the world is against me speech.
A very annoying person. A very talented athlete though. I was surprised how easily he dispatched Whitaker. He took wallops off Romero and kept coming!!
Costa is frothing at the mouth at the thoughts of fighting yerman. He looks like he eats bull jizz.
I'd like to see Dan Hooker getting a big name.
He is good but I think It's his height and his reach that make him so good. I would like to see him up against someone else with similar stats.
I don't really care about the Costa fight Israel I reckon will win pretty easily. I would be a lot more interested in a Whittaker rematch I think now that he knows what to expect he would be able to beat him in a rematch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7WywdwqK3o
Delighted for Cub Swanson, great fight to get off the 4 loss streak. I'd say it saved his contract quite a bit even if Kron is fairly new to it.
I don't like Kron from what I've seen of him.. he's got the attitude a lot of the gracies have.. but in fairness to him he stuck it out.
Great fight though, pity he couldn't ko/tko him in the end
I've met Royler and Robin Gracie, Clark Gracie too
They're actually very friendly and decent. People focus on them so much that it's hard to live up to expectations. That said, Kron comes across a lot less charasmatic than his father. I'd say it's tough trying to live up to the name, the majority of the crowd screaming for your head etc..can't be easy. He's not a Diaz, I don't know why he tried to fight like one. He should have been a lot cuter and pushed his Jiu Jitsu more. Cub a legend though, happy for him.
I don't say this often but Weidman needs to retire very poor performance last Friday. It's sad to see that the Light heavyweight division is in that bad of a state that someone like Reyes is now in line for a title shot would much prefer to see Santos or Smith get a rematch. The Stephens fight was great and what is Greg Hardy at just seems to go from bad to worse. He will probably leave the cage for a toilet break mid fight next time.
BKFC 8 was on as well last Saturday Bigfoot was a major disappointment someone else who needs to hang up his gloves. The goat is getting his rematch against Jason Knight next month if it's even half as good as the first fight it will be great.
2 Bellator events this weekend. Big Country Vs. Frank on Friday and the big one Saturday Lima Vs. Rory can't wait for that fight the first fight was not far off the brutality of Rory Lawler fight and now they are fighting not only for the title but the million dollar tournament prize as well.
Ben Askren fighting on Saturday morning again against Maia I hope but wins not sure what is gonna happen to him if he doesn't. Who knows what Maia has planned even for the start of fight after what went on back in July.
Hopefully next week Nate shuts that gimp Masvidal up.
Really hope Maia schools Askren in some BJJ. Hoping Nate wins too.
If it goes to the ground Ben will win his wrestling is phenomenal it's why he was able to dominate for so long in One and Bellator.
Maia one of the greatest grapplers of all time. He's won ADCC gold a couple of times I think. Askren won't want to go to ground at all.
I prefer BJJ myself but for MMA wrestling is the number one ground game while Muay Thai is best for stand up. Ben is not great on his feet so I would say he will go to the ground as quickly as possible.
It's an odd match up because it's one of the rare instances where Maia will have the advantage on the feet.
UFC favours the striker and doesn't allow for long periods on the ground. The length of rounds, being able to use the cage etc. Askren is excellent but I would definitely not underestimate Maia. This fight will go where he always wants to go. His takedown game and his standup always lets him down but if Askren goes to the ground it's going to get seriously dicey for him.
Diaz just got USADA'd ???, out of the fight against Masvidal.

They allow for time on ground once something is being done it's when both fighters are are trying to take rest breaks for extended periods that don't like it and even at that it's at the refs discretion to break it up. I am definitely not underestimating Maia but as fan of Ben's I really want him to win because if he doesn't; I think this could be his last fight.

Yeah got sent that on whatsapp earlier load of bollox good card but the main event was making it great.
And Mc Nugget is back on Jan 18th but won't say who his opponent is. My guess is Justin.

His biggest opponent next year will be the DPP. And I'm routing for the DPP.
Isn't he suppose to have been involved in another sexual assault last Friday?
Cowboy would be a good opponent. The hardest working man in the UFC I would love to see him win a title someday.
Main event next week is back on Nate was cleared.
When the UFC is on at a regular time .. 9/10 I forget and miss the bloody thing. Just copped it's nearly over and just turned on now to see the end of the Stevie Ray interview.
Final fight just startin now. Would like to see Maia win this, Askren just rubs me the wrong way every time he opens his mouth.
Slept him...Askren looked like he was drowning at the end. Amazing highest level BJJ.
Ben looked like he didn't even train for this fight terrible don't know what he is at could be the end for him now.
The Masvidal fight is still lingering. That was an awful knockout. You'd wonder if his public persona is not doing him more harm than good also.
I think the takeaway here is that Askren is too reliant on wrestling. A bit like Kron in the last fight, no MMA athlete can afford to only rely on their A game, be it BJJ, standup or wrestling. They need to develop their other games and certainly Maia has done that. Askren will need to follow suit.
I thought Maia's stand up looked even worse then Ben's and Ben was winning most of the exchanges which makes me ask why he went to the ground. I am guessing he wanted to prove a point. Ben said it himself yesterday after the fight he was over confident and thought he would have no issues on the ground. Love him or hate him he took this defeat very well again. Even Maia said he was a gent and would love to train with him sometime. He hasn't really been saying much since the Masvidal fight not that I have seen anyway.
Felt bad for Rory last night. Both lads were far too cautious which is understandable when two belts and a million dollars is on the line. I would love to see Rory back in the UFC he would definitely be a title contender and would have no issues beating Lawler these days. His ground game and his ground defence is one of the best in the sport unfortunately for him Lima just happens to be one of the best in the sport at defending takedowns.
The thing is Lima is one of the best Welterweights in the sport right now and Ben beat him before.
I would agree on how Askren took the losses to date. He was way too cocky after barely getting past Robbie which generated a lot of the hate felt towards him. He certainly is in no position since the Masvidal fight to talk as much shit.
Maia looked really tired really quickly nearly the end of R1 it was odd but overall the striking looked super sloppy. But as bad as Ben's punches looked they were doing damage for sure.
On Rory, not seen the fight at all but I've been hearing for a long times he's been one foot out the door with regard to MMA in general. That still a thing?
Maia's standup isn't great but he can take risks because if you take him to the ground you're screwed...he holds the record for most submissions now in the UFC, he's a shark on the ground. Askren is a cool guy but he divides opinion. I thought it was one of the most interesting fights I've seen in a while, and yes, Askren might have taken it under different circumstances. He was the perfect opponent for Maia though.
Rory another animal on the ground. Is it me or is Bellator full of lads that look.like they are jacked beyond belief. Lima looked that way to me though I could be making excuses. Unlucky Rory.
I wish Rory would return to murder death kill mode. Unleash that savage!
Askren!!!!
Rory hasn't been the same since the second Robbie fight, he left it all in the cage that night.
After Rory's first fight in the Welterweight tournament which I if I remember correctly was back in April he got really pissed off after the fight and said at the press conference that he doesn't know if that is what he is suppose to be doing, maybe he shouldn't be hurting other people for a living anymore. Including last night's fight he has had two fight since then and has seemed ok. He was disappointed by last nights result but stayed in the cage while the celebrations were going he's also good friends with Lima so not sure what to make of that. I think he might be having some problems outside of fighting that are bothering him.
Just another thing to note is MVP was beating Lima in the semi finals of the tournament before Lima managed to knock him out so that's another fight that very easily could have gone a different way.
I don't think Bellator are under USADA so they may be under someone else who is not as strict as well as that Bellator treats it's fighters a lot better then the UFC treats it's fighters.
They started the Featherweight tournament last month the first round had everyone's name picked out of hat all of the fights took place over two events. Then two weeks ago what they did for quarter finals was they drew out three names and let each of those fighters pick who they wanted to face in the next round and when they wanted to fight because from December they will have one fight a month. Then after all that was done they let the current champion Pitbull pick his own opponent and fight month from the other 7 fighters irregardless of who everyone had already picked. I think that's a great idea. As well as that title is also on the line for every fight the current champion has during the tournament.
I remember reading a posting on a forum a while back that the difference between Bellator and the UFC is that the UFC have a bunch of suits sitting behind a desk that decide who fights for the title whereas Bellator use tournaments and fighters have to earn a title shot. Which I think is very true.
Had another look at the Maia Askren fight. So much detail to it, Askren's takedowns are amazing. I hope he doesn't retire because he could do some serious damage still. Fanny hairs between them really. Maia so good though, can't give him any opening.
Amazing shape for 41.. althought then you do have Yoel Romero at 42 :-X
Ben said in an interview today that he is considering retirement.
Can we take a moment to remember when Jon Jones went under the name.. sexual chocolate jones
Can't wait for tomorrow even the prelimns are good. I hope that gimp Johnny Walker gets knocked out another idiot who thinks he's a comedian.
What a card
Crap ton of KO's and R1 KO's
Arlovski V Rozenstruik - that was nuts, the punch didn't even look like it was hard. That guy has some heavy hands! Also maybe time for Arlovski to hang it up. He's hitting 41 and his record is plummeting. 10 losses and 3 wins since 2016. Legend etc but time to cut it I think.
Shahbazyan V Tavares - Interested to see how Shahbazyan does from here, great performance.
Walker V Anderson - Walker didn't know what was going on, wonder if this will 'learn'him to stop being so goofy.
Gillespie V Lee - Fair play to K Lee, he needed the win. If he can stop trying to be 'McGregorish' etc he might be able to get back on the right track.
But otherwise the Diaz V Masvidal fight. Just WOW ???
Masvidal picked him apart, you could see the look in Diaz's face even in round 1 that he was not expecting that. Masvidal was so fast and great for avoiding getting caught on the ground.
Real shame that it ended how it did. I was wonder if into R4/5 if Diaz would eventually catch him in some choke hold to grab the win because on his feet he just wasn't getting anywhere against Masvidal.
And Masvidal "hope you guys ain't booin me... you wouldn't do that to my face"  Literally the BML 8)
The cut above and below Diaz's eye were apparently a lot worse than people thought, ie that there could have been some real dmg done if it kept going. I can see after the fact why they probably stopped it if that is infact the case 'eye lid hanging over his eye' needs to get plastic surgery and get a ton of cartilage removed apparently.
Still anti-climatic given the nature of the fight but still a savage 3 rounds., happy as hell for masvidal.
I'll be honest, while I don't bother bring up McGregor anymore for potential fights etc but I'd half like to see him come back and get the snot beaten out of him by Masvidal.
Glad Walker has been shut up. I think Dana was talking bollox about the cut it was the 500th event and he has been promoting it for months so I think he just doesn't want it going into the history books with a bad ending. Fight should not have been stopped and it was stopped right at the time when Nate always starts getting good. Masvidal won the first 3 rounds but you could see at the end of the 3rd he was getting tired so who knows how it would have ended.
Tyson Furys cut at the end of September was a lot worse than Nates last night and he was allowed to fight for 8 or 9 rounds with it.
 Loved the way Nate didn't even acknowledge the Rock at the weigh in and just praised Nick and he was also giving out about the Rock in the post fight press conference. Both the Rock and that cringy BMF title had no place there last night. Hopefully it's the last we see of both it's enough of a circus already.
Happy for Till wasn't a big fan before but I like him now especially for his honesty about how he felt.
The line up for 245 is even better than last night can't wait for that. I don't like Colby but he was hilarious at the press conference last Friday. I hate Usman almost as much as I hate Israel he has no personality and has the same chip on his shoulder that Israel has.
I knew Nate would get destroyed, his boxing has looked like shit since his return, like he didn't train striking at all during the 3 years off, and he wasn't going to be able to beat up Masvidal in the clinch like he did Pettis.
His bread and butter used to be a great jab and 1-2's and neither of them have been seen since he came back.
Not bothered about a rematch, would rather see Masvidal either fight McGregor or the winner of Usman/Colby.
Bellator Lodon on now. MVP in the main event.

Gona be a good one, savage main card
Khabbib Tony Ferg announced for April 18 2020,lets hope it finally happens.
Some great fights on this weekend.
Man the early prelims & prelims themselves were bloody great.
Early prelims had some great fights on it, Moreno and Kara France in particluar. The only bad fight was Eye V Araujo which was boring as fuck. The cringe when Eye asked to be on Joe's podcast and he was like... 'aah yeah, maybe later'
And Hopper.. jesus the guy looks about 15 and then he spoke and sounded about 12... then 'ima go eat some m&m's'. Even Joe was trying to not laugh openly when he started speaking into the mic
Poor old Mike Perry, jesus that guy is entertaining but he cannot keep a win streak of more than 1 or 2 fights. He's been fighting 5 years and at 28 he's taken so much damage already and is like 55/45 win/loss ratio. I'd say he's close to getting cut again.
Serious KO from Aldana, turned Vieira's lights out with a savage haymaker ???
Also looked how he normally does in the fight and not as 'crackish' as he did during the weight cut, I wonder what he actually weighed in there in the fight !?
Fair fucks to De Randamie, she took a shit ton of punishment from Nunes. Man those shots Nunes throws are brutal.
Volkanovski is a machine, really impressed with him in this fight. I don't think there was any doubt that he won it and rightfully so. Savage performance. It was gas watching them talking back and forth and have the craic in there. I mean the ref could have left and it wouldn't have made a difference, max kicks Volk in the cup. They seperate and touch gloves and the ref doesn't even have to say anything and the same thing reversed a few mins later  Will be interesting to see how he does going forward now as champ.
Covington V Usman: I honestly thought this was just going to be a wrestle-fest and the two of them on the floor for 5 rounds with either covington getting a decision win for ground work or Usman getting a KO in between. Nope, striker central. Hefty eye poke from covington near the end of R3 and then he tries to say he got eye poked back from a clear punch
The bit in between R3/4 when he's on the seat going 'my jaws broke, my jaws broke' and you can see the worry in his face. Tat 'eye poke' was actually the square punch to his jaw that moved it about 2 feet off his face  Those body shots covington kept taking must have been given DC's flashbacks to the Stipe fight cause he didn't really say much on em
Great fight and great night
Colby is talking mad shit about the stoppage to Goddard on twitter
"Normally people do their fucking in the bedroom, not the octagon
@marcgoddard_uk
! I go in there to kill or be killed. You robbed me of that. You robbed the people of a fair fight. You should be ashamed of yourself. Fake nut shot. Fake eye poke. Fake stoppage. Fake ref. #ufc245"
Usman deserved his win but a small part of me wishes that other clown had won just to hear him rile the rest of them up. Anyway.
Mike Perry is probably headed for the bare knuckle circuit.
Faber should just jog on now.
Holloway will win if they have a rematch.
Faber fight was good he did well to keep going with that eye.
Aldo was robbed and now Henry wants to give Aldo a title shot because he feels he won.
Nunes didn't look great if Germaine had any sort of ground game she could have beaten her.
The Holloway fight was boring.
Sick Usman won can't stand him the man has zero personality and he tries so hard he's painful to watch. He will destroy Masvidal as well if that match up happens so would Colby.
Frankie got clattered!!!
tbh I don't think anyone was expecting it to go any other way.
Frankie has a good record but you can see it declining in the last 2 years.
9 win streak > 7 > 5 > 2 > 1 and now on 2 losses. At 38 I wonder how long more he'll keep it going for, or if he'll look at going the 1fc route.
He was supposed to be fighting at BW next month so he'll probably still give that weight class a crack but he probably won't touch a title shot there either tbh.

He is that was always his plan this was apparently just an opportunity that came up that Frankie thought was too good to pass up. He was suppose to fight him a while back but the fight ended up getting cancelled.
Such a stupid decision on his part to take a fight like this on short notice especially for a fighter like him that takes losses so badly.
Aldo looked great last week hopefully will be the same for Frankie when he drops down.
Looking forward to Bellator tonight. It's on sky sports as well. Be nice to see Fedor retire with a win but I don't think he will be able for Rampage. Fedor is slow because he's old whereas rampage is just out of shape.
MVP's fifth fight as well this year and his third in three months.

lol fedor looks the same as he always ways. and he read Rampage like a book. watched the whole main card. MVP vs a can as usual lol
Fedor looked the same as he always did the other night but he didn't in the fight against Bader back in January. Also Rampage was really out of shape looked like he didn't train at all for the fight.
A well behaved McGregor at the press conference I thought he was going to ask Cowboy to mount him at one stage. Must be getting orders from high up to cut the shit. He wasn't happy at all when he was asked about the rape.
Yeah just watching it atm
Conor at the start "I don't think I've changed"
Everyone else on the planet "...riiiiiiiiigghhtt"
It was quite off putting watching him sit there being respectful and what not... just waiting for him to go off on one etc but he doesn't!
Have to hand it to Cowboy.. all in black and the hat on with the shadow over his face.. lookin like an evil boss from an old NES computer game
The bit about Pieta was fucking hilarious though.. could see Dana just going .. ffs now I'm going to have those cunts on my back
This presser seemed like it was going to be for the 'NMF' belt with the whole happiness and positivity . Ah well I'd prefer that than the previous shit shows.
yeah nobody was happy with it. it has been addressed who gives a fuck its fight week!!! can't wait myself..I look forward to fight nights every other week,im a huge fan but when conor is on the card its like its not even real. predictions.....conor to get the ko within the first 2 rounds. Holly will ko pennington or win on decision. sadiq yusseff to beat fili, maycee barber to murder poor roxanne, put the house on it.
There's no show like the McGregor show. That said, Cowboy is a wily ould fkr. He has some losses recently but that armbreak against Mike Perry wasn't long ago. A dangerous man, bigger and with amazing skills. I think it could go either way.
Alexa Grasso V ClƔudia Gadelha cancelled .. she came in 6.5 lbs overweight :-[ :o
What a way to fuck up and on a big draw card like this with so many watching...
No loss I can count on one hand the amount of female MMA fighters that are of any interest. The Cyborg fight next week will be good. Two beasts going at it.
Not a great card either and I don't think McGregor is the draw he was 2 years ago. Have said it many times on here and the old forum I was always in the minority as I hated him from the beginning but now that way of thinking seems to be the majority. Friends who use to be "die hard" fans can't stand him now. I can't ever see him being able to regain the level of popularity he once had.
I don't like cheering against our own but I hope Cowboy beats him tomorrow.
It's been over 3 years since he was worth cheering for (ie Nov '16 against Eddie).
This new 'old' him thing, well I guess we'll see how long it plays out for and if he'll just go back to his old format. Tormenting the shit out of people like Aldo etc was a big thing and def helped him win some fights but without all that going on has he really developed in the last 15 months to be more than a left hand. I know his speed/accuracy etc but if his cardio /take down def and ground game is at the same level well.. everyone will know what to do.
I saw some comment I think he said about who ever is the first to take it to the ground is a cowbitch or something like that. Cowboy is all about keeping it standing etc to put on a show. I wonder on Cowboys side if he reaaally cares about winning this if he's going to stand with him. Or if it's just being a bit thick about it.. putting on a show is great but ya wana win. He's not a boring fighter either way.
I'm sure the crowd will boo like dumb fucks if he does but of course they just want the entertainment side of things. Although if McGregor pulled another Aldo.. i'd be very pissed off after paying the price of those tickets.
Another loss in his current popularity will drop him down even more. The only thing he can hope for is the UFC to still give him pretty much what he wants and just become those 'money' type fights etc
Non of the fighters want to fight him as a challenge etc.. they just want that big pay day that comes with the win or loss regardless. It's almost a bit sideshowish if that makes sense?
Like those GSP fights, the BMF belt, double champs etc etc
Apparently Dana has just said that if Conor wins he gets the next title shot... jesus above the thirst for money is so blatant. He might as well whip his dick out and piss all over the other fighters. If Cowboy wins he'll be sent back to the grind I'm sure.
I didn't see that end happening!! Who is next I wonder. The build up talk was refreshingly calm and to the point. He put it to him hard on the night though.
No joke stopping a lad like Cowboy in 40 seconds. Amazing win, though the McGregor dream faded for me a while back. Something about him I just don't like or can't buy into anymore and I used be a big fan.
He was definitely not right going in against Khabib, it's llain to see. He had hit the whiskey big time and was supposedly doing drugs aswell and it showed. When he's in the form he was in last night there's very few in his weight range that would beat him.
I'm on the same boat, said it multiple times here but I fell off after the Alverez fight.. he started nose diving (punny) from there on. This 'new year new me' McGregor is a lot more bearable but again it just seems that he might do the same thing again. Get the belt and then start fuckin around in other weight classes.
And the UFC will let him because of the money he brings in., simple as.
Dana must have made some new year new me pact with him by the sounds of it..
Making excuses for Grasso and how shes a lovely kid and professional and there must be a good reason she missed weight!
The late stoppage in the Dober fight, saying he's not going to go off on the ref and that the ref is a good person etc etc
Normally he trashes fighters hard when they miss weight.. always has. Same with Refs.. I miss his Mazzagatti rants tbh
Classic one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAYq_xPVtp8
I see all the usual dopes online going 'oh.. all the mcgregor haters have suddenly gone quite' etc
Usman's twitter got hacked

Scumbag
Usman's account was hacked as much as I dislike Usman that doesn't look like something he would say.
Conor looked good last night and those shoulders I have never seen that before but let's not get carried away he was fighting Cowboy, I love Cowboy but let's be realistic he is exactly like Nate Diaz more know for his character then his actual ability to fight he's another guy that will never be a champion.
Conor hasn't a hope against Tony, Kahbib, Usman or Colby all four would demolish him. Even Justin would beat him. I am glad Dana is not giving Masvidal Conor next Masvidal is just a money hungry cunt lately and makes no attempts to hide it. He should be trying his best to get a shot at Usman. I do think Conor would dispose of Masvidal easily though which is something I would like to see. What was he like in crowd last night wearing a dressing gown.
Showtime is in a bad way now terrible loss for him last night.
I wonder how long Conor's new humble act will last as well.
I dunno man, Khabib is an amazing fighter but certainly Conor was in no shape the last time. We've written McGregor off so many times and yet he has destroyed UFC champions like Aldo in the past without even blinking. Cowboy isn't at his best but it's not long ago he was breaking a lads arm with an armbar. To only take 40 seconds to annihilate him like that is as impressive as it gets really.
Usman a step too far, he's too big, but the likes of Ferguson or Khabib I'd give him every chance if he's fit. There's a whole aura around them 2 fighters that I'm not sure they merit. Who has Ferguson beaten that is much, much better than Poirier or Cowboy or the likes. Never won a UFC title..get that belt around the waist and then he can talk. I'd say the same about Khabib. He beat McGregor but Poirier was hardly going to beat him. The Khabib vs Ferguson fight will.reveal a lot. McGregor in the sidelines to fight the winner.
Also, I think the whole idea that a superstar should.
have to fight 4 or 5 fights to qualify to fight for the belt is a outdated idea. Just like in boxing, the money is where it's at, anything else is naivety. The same rules don't work for everyone.
Both Tony and Khabib beat RDA back when he was a monster and if the original RDA vs. McGregor had of taken place back in 2016 I think RDA definitely would have won. Sure even Nate in my opinion won both fights he was robbed in the second one.
When you watch both Tony and Khabib fight I think it just says it all even the way Tony moves. I know McGregor wasn't his best against Kahbib and that's all on McGregor. Khabib has received a similar amount of fame and we can all see the difference in how each person has behaved outside of the UFC. Khabib made a show of him. He tried to do exactly what he did to Aldo by getting into his head but it backfired.
I have to disagree with you said about title shots you should have to work your way up to one it's disrespectful to all of the other fighters that McGregor just gets to jump the gun again and goes straight into a title shot especially after how badly he lost during his last title fight.
You can't compare the UFC to boxing, boxing is probably the most corrupt sport on the planet that is being destroyed by money hungry scum like Eddie Hearn. He has another one of these youtube fights lined up for the end of the month. Was so happy to read how disappointed he was with the numbers the last fight got. In boxing so many great fights never happen because of the corruption and it's such a shame. Imagine how big a fury wilder rematch would have been 6 months after the first one? Instead they make us wait almost a year and half while both fighters go through a series of bums (with the exception of Ortiz) now you probably won't even get half the interest in this fight that it would have generated if it had of taken place last summer.
I hear you and I don't disagree with a lot of what you're saying. On the RDA point, I think it's too easy to say that RDA would definitely have beaten him. If we look at Eddie Alvarez who had beaten both Pettis and RDA prior to McGregor and beat Gaetje after, I think that's a great gauge of what McGregor is capable of. He utterly destroyed Alvarez, who is the first person to win both Bellator and UFC titles..a scary, scary man. If he hadn't gone out boxing and all that nonsense I think the Khabib fight would have been a lot closer. It's all.speculation but this rewriting of history to say that McGregor doesn't merit 2 UFC titles at different weight classes is a little much I think. Winning one is hard enough, but to do what he has done is beyond exceptional. The fight now is Khabib..time for yer man to defend his belt and not against Dustin flippin Poirier, who McGregor destroyed also.
In terms of boxing, I take your point, but boxing has been in the ditch for decades, nothing new there. It's a business also. Do I want to see Khabib vs anyone else other than Tony or Mcgregor? No is the answer and I think the majority would agree.
One further point, McGregor is a knacker, but Khabib is a thug and a bully. He plays a smart game but his manager and the crew he hangs around with are far from angels.
I don't rate Eddie Alvarez at all and am still scratching my head wondering how he ever won that title in the UFC. He's in One FC now a big step down in competition fighting bums. Lost his first fight and was extremely lucky to win his second one. It's like the way Benson Henderson and Pettis held that title before also now both are getting worse as each fight goes on.
Khabib Vs GSP is the fight to make. GSP has proved himself against much tougher opponents than McGregor. And by all accounts seems to be a top bloke.
I have no problem with McGregor running around taking lines and hitting people he can do whatever he wants but the reason I never liked him is because to me he simply isn't funny. He reminds me of the 5th class hard jaw back in primary school who just ran his mouth all day saying whatever comes into his head and what is that forced posh accent he tries to put on most of the time when he is being interviewed I cringe every time I hear it. The only funny thing I ever heard him saying was what he said about Khabibs wife after he posted the pictures of his wedding. Khabib is more a good role model especially for younger kids his self discipline is unbelievable. He's a multi millionaire and still lives in a shack.
What has Khabib done to call him a bully? He confronted Artum because Artum was talking shit about him and I think we can all understand why he jumped over the cage after the McGregor fight. Yes I agree Ali is a scumbag but I doubt Khabib has a lot of say in who he surroundeds himself with when you take into account the type of place he came from. What is he suppose to do tell Kadyrov to piss when he approaches him, next thing you know Khabib and his family would be missing and never found again. Sure Darren Till, Tyson Fury, apparently McGregor and a few others are all involved with the Kinahans.

They're all fuckin eejits
This..
I don't really care about the personalities tbh, I just want to see the best, most exciting fights. Last night was exciting, so was the Khabib fight. Plenty of them aren't though. I don't buy the Alvarez line there. Any lad that holds that belt has gone through war to get it. A fall from grace after, but they can never take that title away from him. Look at Cerrone or Nate or even Jorge, no e of them.has won a belt. It's not easy and all the talk otherwise makes no sense to me.
Luck also plays a part in winning the title as in who you end up facing, how the training camp went and most importantly how you feel on the day. Eddie also lost the belt on his first defence as the old saying goes a champion is only as good as his first defence. Yes I understand what you are saying but in my opinion the three guys you mentioned that never won a belt are not that good. This time last year how many people do you think could have told you who Masvidal was? I think Masvidal is currently the most overrated fighter out there he has marketed himself well by having an opinion on everything that has gone on since his Darren Till fight and Joe Rogan blowing smoke up his ass at every opportunity.
Once he comes up against a proper opponent I think he will be exposed and I suspect it's the reason he is avoiding Usman once Usman or Colby get a hold of him his career is done and not many will be interested in him after that.
On Conor.. Conor gets whatever he wants, it's as simple as that. Dana will back him once he keeps putting millions in his pockets. All this nice guy / off the drink / new year new me shit is probably another show to get him through another year till he fucks off for another shit show boxing match. I noticed a lot of hands to god/praying stuff from him so I wonder how long before we get a 'it's not me.. all things are possible through christ' line from him or some shit like that.
Honestly I'd find it hard to go back to liking him again because of who he is and I'd like to ignore that shit and just watch him as a fighter.. but it's hard to ignore that shite with it everywhere.
The UFC do not give a flying fuck about any of their fighters bar the likes of McGregor. It's understandable with any company/business that someone who brings in a shed ton of money will get more leeway etc.. but when you give someone in that position a title shot after never defending any of the previous ones he's had, fucked off out of the sport, pulling all the other shit he has and losing his last fight.. you might as well walk up to all the other fighters and slap them with your dick in the mouth.
Because of this divisions fall to shit and get stalled etc etc all for these trilogy fights / money fights etc etc.
f you don't have a big personality or some gimmick etc you can get dropped.. look at Colby for example. It's literally a business thing to act 'wwe' in UFC now. It attracts idiots, it makes people want to see cringe guys like Colby beaten senseless etc
With Masvidal, knew of him but he was never a 'name' until all the Askren thing. He's trying to do what he can now to finally make some money in the sport as he said for his family and finish up. I mean if he does that and actually finishes within 3 years then fair fucks to him. I'd say he's smart enough (I hope) to know the UFC will piss on him as soon as he gets a loss or two. So he might as well milk it like the others. But starting to do all the stupid shit like standing in the crowd in that stupid robe... leave that shit to McGregor. People liked him because he was a vicious fighter in those recent 3 fights and seeing things like what happend back stage with Leon Edwards. They liked that there was no shit talking like Colby etc.. he went over and slapped the head off someone talking shit.
Again he just needs to not get into that spectacle side of things... but again that'd how the UFC is going so guys do it to make money... or go back to making fuck all.
Just a point on Joe Rogan, I like a lot of his stuff etc but you can hardly ever pay attention to him these days when he talks about *insert fighter name here* being the the pound for pound best *insert fighting style here* every few day.
They all jump on the band wagon and he can really push that fucker himself. He was one of the guys talking about how amazing RR's stand up was.. the she got the shit kicked and punched out of her multiple times.
Good commentator and knows his shit.. but really goes way OTT on fighters.
I'm not here to take part..
..im here to take shoulder
Donald Cerone
Forgot their is a couple of scraps on tomorrow.
RDA v Chiesa should be a good one.
Watching it right now Jackon V Colares is great atm
I hope Dos Santos knocks the shit out of Blaydes.
RDA V Chiesa is interetsing.. RDA has had a few losses but so many of his wins/losses are decisions.. however I don't see it going that far with Chiesa. I'd say Chiesa will probably get it with another submission.
UFC was disappointing both people I wanted to win in the main event and co main event lost.
The Cyborg and Budd fight was so good. I think it proves that the Amanda vs Cyborg fight back in 2018 was a fluke and a bad night for Cris. Hopefully we see a rematch someday.
Was it just me or did The JDS stoppage seemed super quick :-\
Yeah it was a big quick but Blades I think would have won even if the fight had gone on longer.
Rafael Lovato Jr. has been diagnosed with brain disease and may never be allowed to fight again. Feel so bad for him top bloke and the story behind what went on before his title fight last June is crazy almost like a move Rocky type movie script. He was on with Joe last night one of the best podcasts in a long time.
Such a bad lineup this weekend. Reyes is a gimp does not deserve a title shot and is only getting one because nobody else is around the main man Jonny bones will destroy him.
Masvidal is set to fight Usman now in July ;D ;D ;D ;D. Usman will make a show of him. As I have said many times I don't like Usman but he is on another level compared to Masvidal.
I think the Jones Reyes scrap could be a good fight and looking forward to it.
The rest of the card is a bit meh though.
Hopefully some good fights will happen within the early and prelim. I've literally some of the best matches in recent months happen there.
Main card wise, Derrick Lewis looks is such better shape these days .. I think with his back issues and then just having boring ass fights in that division where they tire out so quickly it's hard to be enthused about them previously. Hopefully will see a bit more in it if the fights goes past 1 round. Not overly bothered about the following two matches.
Shevchenko V Chookagian, I just go with Shevchenko always ::) Chookagian's record of 13 wins are pretty much all decision wins bar 2 or 3. She;s got the height & reach advantage but Shevchenko is a beast. Her kicks are immense and the speed of them. That headkick of Jessica Eye :abbath:
The stuff Reyes comes out with in interviews is cringe.. one thing was something like "i was a footballer.. nobody knows what ive been through"
It's a fight and of course anything can happen but I really don't think Reyes stands a chance he hasn't beaten any even half decent fighters except the Killer Gorilla and he is much better at middleweight than Light heavyweight. You could see in the press conference last December that Reyes had no confidence in himself. He couldn't even come up with any good comebacks for what Jon was saying he looked and acted like he just didn't belong there.
Jon took his last fight lightly and expected it to be an easy win Santos is a much better overall fighter than Reyes and even he couldn't beat Jon on his off day. Jon won't make that mistake again of assuming an easy win which makes things even more difficult for Reyes.
Reyes should have had at least two more fights before Jon to prepare him. One of them definitely should have been Anthony Smith and ideally Santos which of course isn't possible so, maybe giving him the Gustafsson return fight could have been an option. But Dana wants money and needed to get Jon on a fight card sooner rather than later. If I remember correctly Jon was originally suppose to be the main event in NYC last November but they couldn't find anyone for him to fight.
It's bad because Jon is my favourite fighter. His fights use to be big events for me but it's getting to the point were I don't even care anymore because he has no more interesting potential opponents in the 205 division. It would be nice to either see him put Israel in his place or move up. Even if you look at the top 8 in the Heavyweight rankings any one of those guys against Jon has the potential of being an amazing fight. Jon Vs. Francis would be unbelievable.
I think Jones is a terrific fighter but when he opens his mouth with all that "Jesus is my best buddy guiding my fist" stuff I cringe. Not because he is religious more because he harps on about it. I would love to see him just be a complete prick rather than the complete tool he is. I think he will flatten this fool on Saturday.
Having said that if he gets smashed by Reyes I imagine the Jones we would see coming back would be violence personified.
Please let him clatter that other shite Israel then get knocked into oblivion by Francis Ngannouuuuuouu!
Slightly off topic of the fights.. but just thought i'd take a look at the ufc store.. https://ufcstore.eu/collections/fight-night-collection
115 euros for a hoody... geeeeeeeet fooooked
1.8k for a signed tshirt
Mental
I've been saying Reyes will be the one to beat Jones since he beat Jared Cannonier like two years ago.
Think it's a bad match up for Jones - tall, lanky southpaw with great counter punching and one punch KO power + Jones hasn't really impressed me since his return from suspension, I think he's getting old.
Yoel Romero at the stand offs doe
Jesus the amount of dodgy shit surrounding most of the decision fights tonight :-\
During one of the fights, I think it was Murphy V Lee. Joe and the other commentators were talking about how the judges weren't even looking at the fight. They were chatting with each other or just looking away.
It's bad that if you don't get a sub/ko/tko etc you could really lose a fight you dominated in due to judges seemingly just making shit up as they go. It's been said a few times but really need to start looking at perhaps using vet mma fighters to scores card because the shit is getting to boxing level fuckery.
Jones will smash jan blaskamebob. Way too slow !
All the stuff going on around Diego Sanchez and his 1 man corner etc , this interview paints a pretty stark picture.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3k-XpvnveU
Felder v Hooker should be good this weekend.
I love both fighters but I think Hooker tames this....if Felder pulls it off that puts him in an unexpected great position.
just 8 days away from a dream day at work!!!
The place I work in is holding an mma expo next weekend (FIGHTCON) with the likes of Wonderboy,MVP,Frank Mir,Ben Askren and a few others. its almost sold out so if you're two minds get on it!!!
WTF was Costa wearing

WTF was Costa wearing
Fuckin smell of ricky martin off him... he's like the male version of Joanna for shit talkin. Cringe as fook
Yoel V Adesanya was horrendous. I like Yoel but fuck all that. He's had a ton of opps to get the belt and he fights like this!
Maybe since the Costa fight + being 42 he's so fucked up from damage it's just not in him anymore. Huge let down of a fight.
Weili vs Jedrzejczyk was a fuckin FIGHT :abbath:
Could see Weili def wasn't used to 4/5 rounds but fuck she kept it up and then got her second wind and was throwing full speed/power again.
And Jesus wept .. Joanna looked like something from Star Trek with them insane swelling on her forhead.. jesus like ???
Hilarious listening to Joe/DC etc commentating for it.. they were freaking out every few seconds
Can't get over the toughness of both of them. I don't like when Joanna does her cringe trash talk but you cannot say she is not one of the best female fighters period. Monster stuff
Costa looked like a transexual last night was he wearing lipstick?
Yoel is nowhere near finished he just played it cautious last night didn't want happening to him what happened to Whittaker. Was happy to see the crowd booing Israel all the talk before the fight and that's how it turns out. It's takes two so he is a much to blame for the poor main event as Yoel was.
Dana is foaming at the mouth now it was very evident from his interviews all week that he needed the Chinese girl to win as he is desperate to break into the Chinese market and she seems to be his ticket to more billions.

Sure let him live his best transsexual life. Who are we to judge :abbath:
Well he'd want to come in with a better game plan than seemingly just trying to get a big KO. Because he was bollocking on about how Israel wouldn't fight him.. yet he stands there in the middle like the guy is really going to walk into him and start throwing. Yoel sat there at the presser laughing and being really dismissive like he did nothing wrong in the fight... really stupid
I dunno I'm just really annoyed with how Yoel did and yeah Israel talks such silly shite. In the post fight presser how he's overcome adversity (have a fucking blue peter badge lad.. get in line).. and that 'tonight i over came adversity'... must have blinked and missed it myself :-\
110% on Dana wanting her to win and to get a few more in the mix. GIANT market and tbh it's not exactly hiding it. I think he's said on a number of occasions in the last few months, how awesome it is to have an asian champ more so from China.
Joanna posted a short clip of her eating cupcakes or something but she cut out the top part of her face from being shown. You can see near her eye and it looks royally fucked.. a black and blue slit.
https://www.instagram.com/stories/joannajedrzejczyk/
She looked like an alien after that fight.
All I could think of
(https://i0.wp.com/trekaboutshow.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/magnificentferengi_021.jpg?resize=692%2C460&ssl=1)
Don't have instagram so can't see the video but she was cleared from the hospital just has some bad swelling.
Yeah Yoel said he did nothing wrong but Israel also claims he did nothing wrong. Dana is only backing Israel because that's his new poster boy and I would guess he knows Israel will be around in the UFC longer than Yoel will so he took sides with his guy with the potential to make him the most money.
One FC is a lot bigger than the UFC China seems to be one of the few Asian countries it isn't big in yet so Dana probably thinks by getting China he will surpass one and get huge in Asia. Which could very likely happen as the Chinese in general are lemmings who usually follow the crowd and like whatever is trendy. The thing is after this fight where do they go? Nothing else in these female divisions. Zhang against Waterson "the mom champ" Never gonna happen Waterson can't fight so all she has is her looks so no way she will risk ending up looking like Joanna last night or being finished in the first minute like when Zhang won the belt. Only thing is a rematch of last night and it will never be able to come close to last nights fight.
I think Danas next move for her will be either what he said last night MSG in November which would be very disappointing if she was the headliner or the headliner for her at some stage this year at the first ever PPV in China. What what's going on any event in China this year is very unlikely.
Askren & Wonderboy in Cork airport on Sunday 6am confused as fuck as to why everyones in the airport pub drinkin
@5:40 :laugh: :laugh:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfqRf5RslUU
This could be the last UFC for a while. I can't see London next week going ahead and Bellator cancelled at the last minute last night. Pissed me off as the Bellator line up last night was one of the best in a long time. They had already planned to have it behind closed doors but pulled the plug about 4 hours before it was about to being.
As much as I despise Dana While I am both happy and surprised to see him pushing ahead with the events considering the amount of money he is going to lose with no fans being allowed into the stadium.
This is so fucking odd to watch.. the silence and echo's while they fight
So is Tony and Khabib doomed to never happen? That Cork airport vis is gas, 2 sound lads in fairness even though I was cheering against Askren in his last fight
No I think they are still going to do it but move the evens to UFC Apex in Las Vegas. ie their own place they use for contender series shows etc All fans being refunded tickets etc
I think these 'quite' fights are going to be interesting in one way.. the guys who talk shit in the ring.. would be great to see those fights and hear everything being said
Didn't stay up to watch the main card last night but see old Kevin Lee lost his fight last night.
Though Lee was on the up after that brutal KO of Gregor Gillespie. He's been a dope for long enough and really bad for taking a loss.
But missing weight and then submitted last night. 4 losses in his last 6 fights
Seems he's taking some time off after last night
No chance of Tony Vs Khabib going ahead without the fans in attendance the fight is too big and to be honest I would prefer if they waited to do it front of an audience. It was clearly evident today the difference in not having a live audience in the building. Even some of the fights went strangely. Saw One FC two weeks ago behind closed doors and it was the same no atmosphere at all in the arena which effected the fighters performance.
Also Bellator didn't go ahead on Friday its only a matter of days before the US introduces an all large public gatherings ban across the country so with the rate things are changing at I think today might have been our last UFC event for a while.
Not according to the bald one, not stopping the events unless its a governement shit down of things
From a pure martial arts point of view, I'd love to see Tony and Khabib in silence, where the crowd and the hype played no part. Would be really interesting and I reckon a far more cagey and thought out affair.
Have Nick Diaz come back so all you will here is 'STOCKTON MOTHERFUCKER' echo around the building every 5 seconds
Someone needs to win fight of the night bonus if they get a KO and make the fake audience sound themselves sitting up on the cage show boating
Dana is looking to hold UFC London in the US now and Leon Edwards has pulled out. Colby has stepped up and said he will fight Woodley. What a fight that would be.
What would make it even better is the sound of Woodley pounding covingtons face into the canvas echoing around the empty arena ::)
Colby a tough boy, that would a cracker.
Next three weeks cancelled now. Tony and Khabib won't end up happening.
Got fed up trying to find something to watch so restarted my fightpass sub, on ufc 73 atm, great stuff
Is Dana on drugs hes still trying to get a replacement for Khabbib to fight Tony Ferg.]This fight should have been scrapped weeks ago.

@48 :-\
Have you seen him recently he's in better shape than most people half his age he will dominate in it. He is also one of those lads that never gets out of shape always trains no matter what is going in his life. Great at talking as well very funny. Was suppose to have another boxing match last summer the same Fury fought in June but it never went ahead and nobody every said why
Ferguson v Gaethje has been made official. For a stupid interim belt! What a pointless title.
Still no venue announced.
Cant see it going ahead.
They should just wait and reschedule KN v TF.
incredibly stupid and irresponsible from Dana.
CANT WAIT!
I hope Tony takes it!!!
It's been cancelled
Disney/eson execs have basically told Dana to cop the fuck on and pull the plug
What a mess. White reckons fight island is still on!!!!
Will he reschedule the ferguson khabbib fight when things get back to normal Im not so sure.
It needed to happen and it was stupid trying to keep it going tbh
Should use some money and help out some of the lower paid fighters on the roster tbh
Looks like UFC 249 is going ahead sunday.
Main card should be a good scrap.
Won't believe it until I am sitting in front of the TV on Saturday too many events been pulled at the last minute recently. I really hope Dana doesn't cower down to ESPN like a bitch again.
I can't see Justin Gaethje beating Tony Ferguson unless he completely overwhelms him from the start. Who knows though!
Jeremy Stephens on a 3 fight losing streak and now misses weight by 4.5 lbs .. gg
Jacare is out! Covid 19 positive test. I hope this doesn't snowball.
Plus two of his corner men. That's how it starts 🤦♂️
Can't believe it's actually happening. Beer, weed and BBQ this evening :abbath:
Not to mention 3 more fight nights after this first one on Wednesday. Hope Cruz beats the shit out of Henry. Going to be another easy win for Francis as well.
oh how i have missed staying awake till 6am :abbath:
Honestly a great card
Ferguson
Cruz - love to see him pick Henry apart for 5 rounds and get the decision.
Ngannou - (probably) but I'd like to see Rozenstruik get the KO
Kattar - and after a 4.5lb weight miss it's on yo belator for Stephens I'd say
De Castro - hope he knocks hardy the fuck out in R1
I'm a big fan of Ferguson but I've got a feeling Gaethje takes it.
I think Cejudo is going to kick the shit out of Cruz's legs, Rozenstruick ko's Ngannou, Kattar ko's Stephens, Hardy ko's whoever he's fighting.
Pettis should beat Cowboy but they're both pretty unpredictable these days.
Werdum subs Oleinik.
O
M
G
!
Never really paid much attention to Gaethje. That was an amazing performance
Spann v Alvey - Was alright but Spann could have probably finished that earlier tbh Alvey seemed to just be waiting for something, that's not how you should be fighting when you are on a 3 fight streak... now 4
Mitchell v Rosa - Man watching Mitchell was great, wanted that particular choke and just kept dominating Rosa in order to get it. Rosa shit talking in the round trying to get Mitchell emotional or something hah
Luque v Price - Great action, entertaining stuff, I had Price for winning this going in tbh
Waterson v Esparza - Shit match
Oleinik v Werdum - Quite dull, Werdum looked terrible round 1, seemed to wake up a little in R2 but overal fairly lack luster.
Pettis V Cowboy - Fun fight, but Cowboy won it. Was close for a bit but 100% Cowboy got the win. Even Pettis was surprised when his name was called.
Castro v Hardy - Castro looked great in Round 1 and then just stopped and let Hardy get win purely from activity Seemingly Casto broke his foot so thats why he stopped.. I was going mental watching it thought I was finally going to see Hardy get KO'd. Good r1 but the rest was another shit show I could have done without. Wish they'd stop pushing Hardy into main card and listening to them trying to get him over.
Kattar v Stephens - good fight, stephens came out to fucking win and needed to as he's also on a 3 fight loss streak and then the 4.5lbs weight miss which amazingly Dana said fuck all about. Looking forward to seeing what Kattar does next.
Ngannou v Rozenstruik - K
Cejudo v Cruz - Annoying Cruz lost but while I see why heand everyone was pissed, he took about 15 shots to the face while trying to get back up so I can see why it was stopped by the ref but still. Wanted to see it go the distance.
Ferguson v Gaethje - Still in fucking shock at what I witnessed. Gaethje just picked Tony apart, Tony's legs got destroyed and the punches he absorbed throughout that were insane and worrying. A few been saying Tony was not himself in there and they think its from the double weight cut which I can see but jesus the damage was fucked up to watch.
The whole Cejudo retiring thing, seems to be mostly related to him looking for a bigger paycheck and not getting it but look, if he's going to fuck off now after getting his wins/defenses then why not.
But they really need to stop all of the weight class jumping and double belt shit, if you win the belt you stay where you are and defend it. If you want to go to another weight class then you give it up your belt. All the legacy fight shite since McGregor started it has things in a heap.
Yes i'd agree, the fact that Ferguson took such a beating defending absolutely nothing is a disgrace. They need to get it sorted. This interim stuff is a joke.
Even though I had a feeling Gaethje would win it was still gutting seeing Ferguson lose like that, he should have rightfully had the real belt 3 years ago when Conor fucked off to fight Mayweather, he's like 36 now so will probably never get his shot.
I think Gaethje poses some interesting challenges for Khabib though, Khabib's never really fought someone with Gaethje's wrestling background.
That was so disappointing. Early stoppage for Henry now he's retiring for money which he probably won't get I think last nights fight is the biggest draw he will ever have and I don't see Cruz fighting again.
Thanks to the main event we will now never see Tony and Khabib. I can't see Gaethje doing much to Khabib it will just be UFC 242 all over again.
Cruz is accusing the ref of being under the influence of alcohol during the fight, bit of a sore loser, whether it was a good stoppage or not.
As in saying he was drunk on the job As in saying he was drunk on the job or more of a 'he must have been drunk or something' as not actually accusing him of being drunk but more wtf was he thinking kind of way!?
edit:
nm found it :-\
"That was an early stoppage, 100 percent ā I'm positive of it," Cruz said on the UFC 249 post-fight show on ESPN. "I wish there was a way to keep these refs a little more responsible sometimes. The guy smelled like alcohol and cigarettes, so who knows what he was doing. Definitely (he did). I wish they drug tested them. I know Herb Dean is good. He's one of the best refs. I immediately when I saw that ref I was like, 'Man, is there a way to veto a ref and get a new one?' I wonder that."
Was waiting on a big payout on under 4.5 rounds on that, there was a fairly chunky differenc for some reason on not to go the distance and under 4.5. Never again
Anyone watching tonight?
They added some new fights to 250 but still a very poor card for a PPV I can see becoming the lowest selling PPV in UFC history.
Doubt I'll stay up for this card, its really gotta be a good line up to get me to stay up unless I just happen to not be tired etc.
Odd that Chookagain is fighting Valentina Shevchenko's sister after she got beaten by her only 3 months ago! :-\
With Shevchenko's sister now in the same division as her I assume that perhaps Valentina will perhaps move up to Bantamweight rather than fight her sister.
Jesus it's been 15 months since Woodley fought against Usman ???
He needs to back up all the shite he's been rambling on about on his social media.. painful stuff
First 4 fights have been pretty decent
Burns some beast, beautiful fighter, very technical. It's amazing to think that Woodley has never been stopped. He fights in a cagey manner, and honestly, in terms of martial arts, that's the way to go. In terms of UFC it results in you losing because you're not seen as aggressive enough. I admire a guy that can come through 5 rounds relatively unscathed like that, but he'll need to throw caution to the wind if he wants to get the belt back. He has everything it takes to win again, but my god is Burns very very good too. People talk.about the Conor, Khabib division so much, but if you look at the killers in the welterweight division, it's a far scarier division.
Just looking at his pedigree. World champ Jiu Jitsu and Dutch Kickboxing..what a combination. Didn't realise he assassinated Demian Maia too. He'll cause anyone a headache. Possible future champ.
Yup, I didn't manage to stay up for the whole thing but when I heard how he dominated the fight it didn't surprise me that woodley wasn't doing enough again. He talks so much shit on social media and then when he gets there he can't 'pull the trigger'. He's got to get his head in the right place to get back on top otherwise he's going to be in a similar position to Cowboy and some others and it's purely on the night we might get an amazing fight or some lacklustre performance.
I think once you've fought as much as he has, lets not forget, been an amazing champion, you start to become a lot less gung ho. His 'survival' rate is a testament to that.machida became a bit like that, and who would you rather look like when you're 50, Tyron and Lyoto or Nate Diaz? The bruisers ultimately pay a heavy heavy price. If he can find a way to balance what is really a lot going on psychologically, I don't see him not being able to get back to the top. If he continues the way he's going, retirement might be the best thing, but only because of drive and willingness to take a risk and nothing to do with talent or anything physical.
Indeed, he's an amazing fighter and got some shit for boring fights. But I always said when you are champ you are 'defending' you title so it makes sense to be defensive and the challenger to attack. Woodley has done some amazing work in the ring but again if he can't pull the trigger when its needed then he's not going to do much more.
It's the nature of the sport, people want fights and not someone playing it safe. Like you said there needs to be a balance, but he needs to start pushing back to the attack side a bit more or he's gona be hoping on decision wins going forward.
What happened to Woodley that wasn't him last Saturday. Burns was good but that wasn't the same Tyron that use to hold the title Burns should have been an easy win for him very disappointing.
I had to laugh when DC said on Saturday that he lost his mind when he saw the line-up for 250.
Looks like the protesters burned down Eddie Bravos gym.
Body great card lady night, turned out to be much better than I thought.
Cody's KO and Sean's were Savage
Bantamweight is a great division, might be my favourite in the UFC actually, it has the perfect mix of athleticism, skill and killer instinct. Shame the UFC are so keen on shoehorning ancient undeserving fighters into the title fights when they have loads of young, elite fighters though.
I expect Yan to beat Aldo so Yan vs Aljo will be fun when it eventually happens.
Funny how many fighters are going on about more pay atm. I think they are trying to capitalise on Cejudo actually leaving (partially) due to them not giving him as much as he wanted, so the others are up the chain are giving it a go too.
Then the other dope seeing people are all talking about the fights has to chime in and do the old im retiring shite so all the casuals will spam about that to give him what he wants more than belts...
I have no doubt those lads are asking for crazy money but at the same time Dana is well know for paying fighters peanuts. Fighters are treated much better in Bellator. A lad I know that fights for Bellator told me they even pay for his training camps. I don't know if that is the same for everyone or just certain people.
I enjoyed last night it was a decent fight night should never have been a PPV. Spencer had no business being in the cage with Nunes but I guess it just shows how much the talent is lacking in these divisions. She took a great beating but it was a completely one sided fight that I feel Nunes was hesitant to end early as she seems to like her and felt very sorry for her after the win.
Great to see Cody back and as was said on here already Bantanweight division is looking great these days I hope Cruz comes back again as well.
Very bad looking fight night line up for next week as well. I read an article about 2 weeks ago that said cards are gonna be awful going forward because so many of the big names that live outside the US can't get in to fight and even if they do are afraid they won't be able to get into their own countries afterwards.
Cody Garbrandt landed a serious hammer. He is so fast. I hope he keeps is up but doesn't rely on that power going forward.
O' Malley also landed a wallop from hell.
It seems more and more of them will start kicking back against the pay scale.

Bollox, I hate that shit cause it just adds more delays and fuck ups to the divisions. I wish they stopped all that crap and if two fighters want to fight from different divisions they meet at a catch weight in the middle with no belts if it really has to happen.
Seems Stipe & DC are set to do the trilogy, again not something I'm interested in for the simple fact that DC has been set to retire for more than a year now and if he gets it he's gone and the belts out on the table again. The fight for it then would most likely be francis and stipe.. and if stipe lost that fight by a KO that delays that fight etc
Again silly shit for me personally
What's to fuck up at featherweight? Nothing going on in that division other than the rematch from December that is happening now in July. At least that Henry fight would add some excitement.
https://www.mmafighting.com/2020/6/9/21285273/three-title-fights-fight-island-location-announced-for-ufc-251-next-month
Ortega v Zombie has been hanging there for a long time also. Ortega hasn't fought since his first loss to Max 18 months ago ???
Apparently Usman is fighting birns who's suddenly ranked no 1 contender, that apparently is more so due to Masvidal looking for more money etc as is the case with a lot a number of them atm. TBH if burns beats the crap out of Usman i'd be happy with that.
I know I was at that Ortega, Holloway fight was December 2018 but Ortega has been scheduled to fight two times since then and both times has pulled out. I like Ortega but not a Korean Zombie fan, another lifer that will never hold a belt.
Yes the 251 lineup is in the link I posted 5 fights announced so far. I don't think burns is ready for a title fight should have been Colby and as for Masvidal I think he just shit his pants knew Usman would destroy him so he used the money thing to get out of the fight. His popularity would drop significantly if Usman made a show of him and that would be an end to his big money fight with Conor.
So what do ye make of that? I won't post spoilers as it was on during the early hours.
Just watched the main card but the main and co-main were fairly underwhelming.
Usman is a beast but if he has a wrestling advantage he's going to make it as boring as possible.
Co-main wasn't up to much even though they're very evenly matched, didn't get the controversy either, I gave the last 3 rounds to Volk.
Thought Aldo looked good vs Yan but he hasn't got the gas tank to go 5 rounds anymore, Yan looked great too so will be interesting to see him against Aljamain Sterling. The stoppage was horrible though, Aldo was clearly done and just getting hammered.
Rose vs Andrade was great, I think Andrade would take a 5 rounder though.
Max was robbed.
Masvidal did better than I expected but he never had a chance.
Had to laugh when he said he should be a higher ranking than Colby just because he made it to the decision. He was dominated from rounds 2-5. Colby did a much better job against Usman. I have no doubt Colby would put Masvidal away easily.
Another fight night now on Wednesday.
Can't wait for Till vs the reaper that fight was originally suppose to happen in Dublin in August.
Those Twitter posts that keep popping up in the bottom left hand corner are so dumb and annoying. I wonder if the fighters are being asked to make them.

Colby is a savage in fairness. I remember being so impressed seeing him for the first time. He'd def beat Masvidal.
Did ye see Joseph B getting DESTROYED last night? As for Kelvin Gastelum.... his ship is sailing.
Yeah that was hard to watch, everytime yer man Deiveson was landing was putting him on jelly legs, the choke was pretty brutal too.
As exciting as he is I don't see him holding the belt for long though, seems like a brawler who's good but not a 'champ' type, I could see Brandon Moreno or the Russian lad Askarov who fought last night beating him.
Gastelum is a 10th Planet Black belt too, very odd to see him caught in that submission. The guy went for it once and then got it the second time. Maybe too hyped up Gastelum?
Joseph Duffy got caught in a guillotine too. Lots of submissions which is cool to see.
Ay was gutting to see Duffy get caught again, he announced his retirement after too.
I would have loved to see him put a good run together but I've wondered if he was really 100% focused on MMA because he only came back to MMA after McGregor got famous, he obviously has talent but if you're not fully committed you're not going to make it in a sport that brutal.
Gastelum is the last of the juice fighters feeling the effects of today's advanced testing.
Seeing Duffy get guillotined was a hard watch.
BKFC Is back tonight live on Youtube
Bellator is also back tonight I think it's on Sky sports.
I can't wait for tomorrow as well some great fights and the return of the reaper. Mad to think that fight was suppose to take place in Dublin.
Really hope Whitaker wins. I tried with Till but he's just a scumbag from what I can tell. Kinihans etc. Oul McGregor not much better I suppose.
Till is an altar boy compared to Mc Gregor. I'd say some of these lads probably need Kinihan and the likes to fund fight camps when they are up and coming as the UFC only really pays the most well known fighters a decent wage. It's the same with Khabib associating with Kadyrov most likely doesn't want to but doesn't have a lot of say about it.
Was at a BBQ so only really saw the last 3 fights last night. Not bad but nothing great. Was happy with the outcome of the main event as I like both but wanted Whittaker to win and Till lost in the best possible way in that he took on a big challenge gave it a good shot but lost with dignity so he will be back again as well.
Whittaker such a good fighter in fairness. I was a bit harsh on Till in fairness, he conducts himself a tonne better than McGregor in fairness. Was great to see Werdum finish in such a way also. Gustafson looked far from a heavyweight. Not sure if he'll.do anything at heavyweight tbh.
Gastelum has great hands. that heel hook looked relatively sloppily applied from hermansson surprised he managed to finish with it. werdum has the slickest bjj at heavy weight. when he gets on someones back its usually all over. heeeeeey!
If any of you are striking fans ONE FC is putting on a card tomorrow that will be on youtube at half 1 in the day, it's mostly Muay Thai/Kickboxing and has some of the best thai boxers facing each other, which is pretty rare outside of the thai stadiums, should be a great card.
"Greatest ever..."
"Greatest of all time"
"Baddest man/woman on the planet"
UFC have really bastardised these phrases. Every 2nd fighter is called one of these phrases.
I'd agree. It's the wrestling influence and marketing hyperbole also. They can't get away from the fact that there really is a short shelf life for a lot of fighters. Miocic was v good again last night, what a warrior, but chances are he could lose again in the next fight or two. Then someone else will be the 'baddest of all time' etc etc.
So will Ngannou do it this time around?
I'd love to see Jones vs Miocic. That would be fight of the decade I reckon. Dunno if it's ever been mentioned
Don't think it will ever happen to be honest, Jones has been saying he's going up to HW 'next year' since he won the title back in 2011 .
I also think Reyes beats him soundly in a rematch.
Jones is as usual tweeting this and that saying how he will soon be the HW champ. I hope he gets blasted out of the ring.
Incredible talent but a cheat
Jones just vacated and is saying he is out the gap!
Quote from: Circlepit on August 16, 2020, 03:58:29 PM

He hasn't a chance Stipe picked him apart last time he was knocking people out in round 1 before that fight as well. I reckon Stipe will take a year off now and we may get Jon Vs Francis early next year then the winner will get Stipe.
Looks like hes going to Heavy weight.
Looks like Reyes and Blachowicz will scrap it out for Jones vacant belt.
Bit of a boring fight but at least it's not a main event. The Costa fight is the main event at 253 which should be great.
With Jon and DC gone from that division not much going on. I'd say Reyes and Blachowicz are delighted Jon is gone. I reckon Jon underestimated Reyes and didn't train hard enough back in Feb so Jon probably would have easily won a rematch.
I reckon Santos or Smith (If he sorts out whatever was going on during his last fight) end up being the new kings at light heavyweight.
Reyes has stated that Jones ran scared from him to the HW division. Now I can't stand Jones and all his praise me Jesus as I roll a bifter but when it comes to fighting...he is a killer. Reyes is deluded.
How many picograms will jones need to win this one?
Covington Woodley scheduled for next month 😁
I can definitely see Jones getting nailed at Heavyweight. I wonder how long more we have to wait till McGregor comes out of retirement again,
Lad from Cork fighting at One FC right now.
Some great fights last night. I think Cowboy should have won. Colby destroyed Woodley as expected which was great to see. Then he called him a communist after the fight
His whole post fight interview was like a child with too much sugar and willing to say anything to keep the limelight on him. The tribe comment!!!!
All that aside he dominated Woodley.
What's going on with him ? He used to be a killer and now he can't get out of neutral never mind first gear.
That other lad with the funny beard who looks like a big Khabib..... destroyer of worlds.
I agree about the interview but Woodley was exactly the same with the Black Lives Matter shit during the press conference a few days ago so was great to see him get his ass handed to him. It wouldn't surprise me if Dana asked Woodley to behave like that to hype up the fight. I could of sworn Woodley gave out about Black Lives Matter a few years ago.
I think the Usman defat changed him I reckon he's done now. Yeah the Russian fella looked great most likely a future champion.
Woodley has been shite for a long time,he's lost the last 15 rounds in a row or something like that.
I was expecting a closer fight for the main card but Adesanya made it look easy against Costa.
There is talk of McGregor fighting Pacquiao next year.
I can't believe McGregor is still calling to fight Diego Sanchez in 2020, even if Cowboy was a bit of a gimme fight I can't see the UFC paying him millions just for fighting Diego Sanchez.
I imagine the Pacquiao fight will happen, they both make bank and everyone wins except McGregor's brain cells .
He's calling for a Porier non UFC fight exhibition bout for charity!
All the shit slinging is so old and boring. They will all work it out as usual both feeling they are the big boss again.
Do ye think Jones goes to fight Jan B at light heavyweight?
Adesanya is something to behold though there seems to be evidence he's no stranger to 'artificial help'. That said, one look at Costa and you'd say the playing field was even. I would love to know how this USADA thing works. Are they over in deep Khazakstan keeping an eye on the likes of Khabib year round in a country absolutely notorious for doping issues. Brazil is another destination where I'd wonder if we're getting the full story all the time with these tests they conduct. Maybe I'm wrong but there just seems to much money on the line and prestige too for no fiddling to be going on on a grand scale.
I think we all knew Israel was going to beat Costa. Costa has only really had one challenge so far in Yoel and that fight could have went either way and Israel spent 5 rounds running away from Yoel. Not taking anything away from Israel he is a great fighter but he's even more unlikable than McGregor. It would be so good to see Whittaker come back and win the title back from him. If the the killer Gorilla gets the title shot I can't see him beating Israel.

Costa is the most tested fighter in USADA history he was even tested the week before the fight.
As for Israel what was going on with his tits that picture looks fucked up and definitely looks very suspicious.
Too easy to throw around the doping allegation, I always say I won't do it and yet I do. A lazy approach. Some lads are simply supernaturally big, other lads definitely need a lot of help. Costa looks unusual and I watched Firas Zahibi saying he def thought Costa was up to something. Then again, you could easily compare the build of his own great fighter GSP and start applying the same speculation. Adesanya on the other hand simply looks like he hardly breaks a sweat. Now, he is world class. An unbelievably classy fighter. The tit thing and his very impressive engine raises questions though.
When I lived in Canada I was good friends with a lad who was involved with training pro boxers both in the US and Canada. He was mates with people that were close to GSP who did say that he was up to something and I believe that is who Nick Diaz was always referring to when he use to go on his rants about steroids. I hate even saying that because GSP is my all time favourite I have heard nothing but good things about him and me personally I have no issues with steroids. I would love if they all were allowed to take them it would make things even more interesting than they already are.
Costa I think is just a specimen I don't think he's up to anything. I started to like him over the last while but he was so disappointing on Saturday.
The Israel tit is horrible to look it, it almost looks like a cancerous growth.
I just assume they're all on something tbh, obviously they're all hugely gifted athletes too but at the end of the day they're only human, think of the intense training camps these guys do everyday for 10 weeks before a fight, they'd need help just to get through them.
It's not just in MMA either, it's in all sports imo.
Some great knockouts in the UFC last night.
Bellator was fairly boring.
Disappointing KSW main event.
Great night as usual from BKFC it's definitely the most exciting promotion to watch.
That ninja spinning shit was like a film. !
Spoiler.
Ortega looked very good last night, like a different fighter and KZ is no slouch.
Gets ahis title shot against Volkanovski next.
Ortega fought in the Kron Gracie way previously: boxing and jiu jitsu..stand and trade and see if you can go to ground. It's the way the Diaz brothers fight and it saw him took an awful beating from the equally tough and impressive Max Holloway in his previous fight. It's obvious he has gotten out of that way of thinking. His distancing and kicks were so smooth and high level last night, he must have spent all this time off working 8 hours a day on a new style. Korean Zombie looked really inpressive too. The level these lads are at is insane in terms of technique. Where other fighters rely on their engine and being double hard bastards, these lads are all of these things but with incredible technique at the base of it all. But Ortega has learnt that he can't spend all that time in the pocket taking punishment..fuck that. His stance has widened. He's watched what the great champions like GSP, Machida, Jones, McGregor could do with distancing and integrated it into his game. Exciting stuff.
Haven't seen the fight but looking forward to watching it in a while to see the improvements he's made, it's a good thing he's not stubborn like the Diaz Bro's, always thought they could have had way better careers had they not been so stubborn about what they think constitutes as 'real fighting'.
Yep the real fighting thing is a mug's game. They just end up smashed to pieces. Kron Gracie is an unreal Jiu Jitus player and yet he's there slugging it out like a Diaz brother. Total waste.
Next Saturday!!!!! Who wins?
I have a feeling Gaethje pulls off the upset, I think he's gonna come out and hammer him with leg kicks.
Im curious to see will Gaethje use his wrestling for this match up as Khabbib wont stand and trade.
Khabib win.
I'd love to see Gaethje win. Khabib some force of nature in fairness though I still think he caught an uninterested and completely out of sorts(drugs, drink, partying, rubbish camp) McGregor at the perfect time and apart from that I don't see anyone else he's beaten, apart from Rafael Dos AƱos, of a level that would allow him to be called a GOAT in any way. GOATs are Jones and GSP who fought the top guys numerous times and beat them. Let's see, he's still an amazing fighter no doubt but I'd love to see someone realy have a go.
It really feels like despite the usual hyping this match as Khabib's must dangerous challenge yet etc that the UFC are looking past Gaethje completely.
All they see is the GSP mega match. I'd love to see it but having said that I really want to see Khabib knocked out cold. The comeback from that for his next fight would be very interesting.
A couple of weeks ago on the DC/Helwani show DC was going on about another Nurmagomedov family member that's just signed with Belator. Apparently he is an absolute savage as well .
Looking forward to tonights matches, main event tonight and Whittaker v Cannonier should be a great scrap also.
It's 30 euro to watch it!
Wow!
Absolute beast, deserves to be number one pound for pound. I even feel Tony Ferg would be no match for him either. He makes people look so average and he's proven it time and time again. Did think he'd go for 30-0 but it makes sense considering what's happened personally for him....what a GOAT.
Made it look easy, shame he's calling time but understandable.
Is that division all that good though? Poirier beat Gaethje, so I couldn't in all honesty see Gaethje winning. He can't be a GOAT if he doesn't go up weights, find greater challenges. He never fought the toughest guy in his division Ferguson. GSP, BJ Penn, plenty guys sought out greater challenges. He also only won the belt 3 fights ago. Is that enough for GOAT status? Jon Jones defended the belt around 10 times, winning it a couple and vacating it. He's never been beaten.
He's amazing fighter but I think there's a bit of a hype machine around him. Would love to see the GSP fight.
He looked so fast . Gaethje looked exhausted after the first round. It really shows the gap between Khabib and the rest of them.
As much as I'd like to see him again I really don't think he is the sort to go back on his word. No more GSP either.
When GSP was in his heyday he always avoided the big challenge-Silva. That was the fight that would have cemented him at the true goat.
If Jones wins the heavyweight belt then it's him.
I think Robert Whittaker is a great fighter but I don't think he will beat Israel Adesanya in a rematch.
That fella from the contender series has some serious power!
Justin was running away from Khabib for most of the first round and barely defended himself on the ground despite being a high level wrestler. Very disappointing but just shows how high level khabib is to make justin look bang average.
We won't get to see the Ferguson fight now, but you never know, these lads have been known to do a comeback now and again.
Khabib will come back for the GSP fight. That's the fight he has wanted for ages and Dana said not so long ago that if he beat's Justin the 30th fight will be GSP.
Can't wait for Lima Vs. Mousasi tomorrow. Really hope Lima pulls it off especially after the way Mousasi behaved when he lost the belt to Rafael Lovato Jr. last year.
Seems Khabib has put up a few sketchy posts on Instagram where he appears to condone the recent attacks in France while condemning Macron over his stance on showing cartoons of Muhammad.
Cartoon = beheading. Fair trade.
I saw that. It's full of the you will meet a grisly demise rhetoric . I've never heard him speak out on this sort of thing before.
Praising Allah yes but this is a new direction publicly for him.
Pfff. It's best he retired tbh and it's no surpise he's going on with that stuff. He also seems to be writing his own story. 4 title defences where Jon Jones, the greatest fighter the UFC has ever seen has 15, and he's calling to be recognised as the GOAT? Look at the lads Jones beat. Khabib's fight record comes nowhere near it. A great fighter but loads of hype around him too.
Definitely, great record but he only became champ two years ago, the likes of GSP, Jones, Anderson, Mighty Mouse, Aldo, Fedor etc were all champs for years.
Most of them went downhill but they didn't retire after 3 defenses either...
Spoiler
I dont like cheering against our own but I was delighted to see Poirier do the business last night.
Nice to see Khabibb and Poirier soften his cough.
Thought it was a decent fight. Poirier is number 2 in the world in that division. He has beaten every before him in recent times. A trilogy will be really good with a proper crowd. Fight island is shite. I'd say McGregor is far from finished. It's all about how much hunger he has. The rest isn't an issue. He looked rusty. He needs to fight more.
That Chandler lad looks like he's going to be entertaining.
Great breakdown of McGregor's complete style change that has turned him from being an incredibly versatile martial artist to a sitting duck. I wonder if his body is just busted up or does he just believe he has a magic knockout punch.
https://youtu.be/Gw1Op0NzyA0
He's been itching for a fight with Pacquiao and looks to have ditched that karate stance he used have.
I wouldnt be surprised if he took Poirier for granted and was tuning up his boxing skills with Pacquiao in mind later in the year.
Khabibs tweet must have boiled his p!ss :)
https://twitter.com/TeamKhabib/status/1353224871522807808?s=20
I'd say Gunnar Nelson had a big impact on him adopting the karate stance, in and out fighting and patience and you'd wonder if he's involved anymore with McGregor. He was also training with a TKD guy from Dublin who subsequently got put away for killing someone in a street fight. The timing, precision etc from those styles has gone out the window, and I think he thinks he can just go into fights and box the head off lads which just isn't going to cut it against hungry savages who are training 10 hours a day in all styles. I would also question why his jiu jitsu and grappling doesn't seem to have moved on a bit. He tried to walk.down Khabib, now Dustin, he needs to go back to the drawing board or else retire.
When you take focus on commentary that really breakdown what went wrong in that fight they all seem to come to a similar conclusion.
He didn't have that pop and there was no bouncing in and out. Even when he landed his money shot it didn't change the fight.
I don't know. Every man and his dog has an opinion on what went wrong in that fight. If Wes re to believe his coaches he trained like an animal for this fight .
Thankfully he didn't act the bollox before hand with the shit talk.
If I had all that money I'd find it hard to have the same grit and hunger as when I had nothing.
He needs to go Rocky 3 post Clubber Brown style now
Watched the Alvarez fight there. Then the Khabib fight. Then Dustin. Honestly, in the Khabib fight, when you watch it without emotion, he did extremely well. For a lad that hadn't lost a round and who wrestles so well, it was always going to be really tough. 2 lads walk in and one lad wins, that's the way it goes. All the greats lost apart from 1 or 2 lads, but I think you need to judge a guy over his career.
If you take all the surrounding stuff out of it he could very well fight a third fight and beat Poirier. I'd even give him a shot against Khabib. I think he almost psyched himself out against Khabib.All.the nonsense around it all was bonkers. He needs to be more patient and stop standing so still. It was probably his worst performance so far, but a couple of good ffights and he could easily be challenging again.
https://youtu.be/xnpS4B-6q5M
Usman is a beast and has some jab on him.It will be a tough ask to take that belt away from him.
He looked like a savage last night. It will have to be somebody that can shut his wrestling down completely.
His cardio is excellent too.
I think Derek Lewis was trying to kill yerman last night. They was brutal!
Dana White and Jon Jones again with the bitching.
Francis Ngannou with the death strike.
Miocic took the first few and kept coming so that man is tough as nails.
Off to Bellator for Woodley I'd say.
That hammer fist looked nasty too.
That Reyes v Prochazka fight was something else and well worth the watch if you havent seen it.
I saw the finish. That was some wallop.
I think Glover Texeira will get it done against Jan B.

Yeah I think he might too.
I wonder is that the end of McGregor with his leg injury which was nasty?Pity the injury put an end to the fight as Poirier was just getting started on him.
Madness interviewing a guy after an injury like that so soon also.
O 'Malley Moutinho was a great scrap.
I would have liked to have seen what the second round would have brought.
I was surprised how fresh he looked when he got back to his feet, before the break that is. The interview on the ground was embarrassing.
He has put up a clip post surgery and there isn't a mark on his face at all. He will be quiet for a while then he will start off again with the juvenile hissy fits.
Apparently Conor was threatening dustin in the back afterwards with finger-gun gestures. Little scrote has lost his mind.
The undercard was generally great.
It says a lot really about McGregor that his own countrymen revel in watching the cunt take a beating. Apart from Dublin scrotes who I'm sure are his biggest fans. The lad is an absolute prick and a disgrace to a fairly scummy sport, which in spite of my better judgement, I'm still a fan of. I'm fairly certain that Poirier would have gotten the better of him eventually, it's just a shame that Mc Gregor, in his mind, is putting this down to a doctor's stoppage rather an outright loss which it was. Sure why would he give a fuck? His fortune had long been established, that joke of a fight with Mayweather demonstrates that credibility is not something that McGregor is overly concerned with.
Could be me overthinking but I find Dustin to be fairly fake.
Poier v Chandler was some scrap.
Edit, just saw Anthony Rumble Johnson died due to health issues :o
It's a such a shame about Rumble Johnson on every level.
From a pure MMA standpoint the potential was so high yet never materialised.
Can you imagine the power exchanges if he and Ngannou ever threw slaps!!
I really wanted Chandler to beat Porier but alas it wasn't to be.
I wonder how Volk will fare against Mackakabib.
I got to meet Rumble before the first UFC ppv I attended and he was a gent was the one where he was suppose to fight DC for the Light Heavyweight title but the fight got cancelled at the last minute.
Rumble would never have fought Francis he has only ever fought at LH and MW. He was suppose to fight Yoel in Bellator last year at LH which would have been insane and at one stage a few years ago he was even suppose to fight in BKFC but that never happened.
So happy Pereira won been following him for a few years in Glory. I can't remember the last time I was standing up screaming at the TV during a fight. I love his serious no bullshit, no nonsense attitude. Doesn't care about press conferences or shite talk. Big fan of Jiri for similar reasons.
So happy mouthy Molly has finally been shut up as well. Glad to see the Hangman getting a win again.
I saw plenty of Chandler fights in Bellator and was not one bit excited about him coming over the UFC but every fight he has had since coming over has been unreal and how can anyone not like his personality. I am happy though Dustin won as things would have been pretty bleak for him if wasn't able to beat Chandler.
Main event next month cancelled next month. Fair play to Jiri for vacating the title Mc Gregor could learn a lot from him.
Really hope Jan wins the belt now.
Thread resurrection here.
Have anymore you purchased a PPV recently?
I want to get the UFC 300 PPV.
I've googled and been sent to Discovery plus, TNT, NowTV and the likes.
Which would anyone in the know recommend?
I don't have sky tv.
Can I get it through the fight pass app?
Thanks for any help.
