Hoping to get down to this just for Terzij De Horde if I can. Is that the full line up or is there any more space on the bill?
That's about 2/3 of the line up Jamie... the bill is completed and will announced in the next few weeks I think man.
Nice one Mark!
The Pungent stench announcement was a nice surprise, been a long time fan so hopefully the set is a good one.The gig in whelans years back pissed me off no end, half the set was cover songs!.So hopefully this will make up for it.
Sweet line-up, and new venue layout sounds promising. Now how do I convince the family we really don't need to be going anywhere for a Bank Holiday weekend... 🤔
That Pungent Stench gig in whelans...... >:(

Yeah big let down, played a set of cover songs!,i mean what the actual fuck!.
This will be miles better!
Rotting Christ and Malthusian announced for it!
Rotting Christ,nice 😎
Shocked how good this line up has turned out!
Is RC confirmed?
What's the price point for the tickets lads?
What a lineup! Hotel already booked.
Thats is one tasty line up. Was at god is an astronaut (who were terrible) in Cypress Avenue recently and the new venue is some job. Doubled in size, great air con and the stage and lights are fantastic. Going to be some day of metal.
Not to derail the thread but how were GIAA terrible? Saw them myself in Dublin last week and thought it was great.

Thread derailed. I just thought they were the most boring insipud tosh I've seen in a long time. I got a free ticket so went along. Just nothing to the tunes, a bland movie soundtrack if you will. If you like them fair enough, just not my thing at all.
Any more announcements? Could hardly fit anymore surely?? Ticket details?

No more announcements to be made and I think ticket details will be released soon enough. I'm already looking forward to this!
looking forward to this one, hopefully it does well and doesn't end up going the day of many other one day festivals on this isle.
Cheers for sharing the greasy details, and for the subsequent interest in our little all dayer down south.
To answer your questions about tickets, they'll be on sale in the coming weeks and will be cheaper (less than 50 quid) in advance than they will be on the door on the night. For the keen of eye and speedy of fingers among you, there will also be dirt cheap tickets going for this. The best way to spot when these tasty morsels pop up is to "like" the Monolith Facebook page, the Paranoid Beast Promotions Facebook page and/or the Monolith 2019 event page. I'm expecting these tickets to fly out.

Monolith 2018 was thrown together last minute with bollocks all of a budget, but we had a great time and decided to strive for greatness this year. All going well with turnout, etc, we hope to continue to draw big auld filthy metal bands leeside long into the future.
Hope to see ye there.
Tickets now on sale. Limited amounts of Super Early Bird (€20) and Early Bird (€30) tickets available, but are expected to sell fast, so get booking.

ah ok,cheers
What a line-up. Sickened that my brother's wedding is the same day.
@Paul - there's a ticket wallet within the Eventbrite app. Stores all the gigs you've got tickets to in there. Cyprus Avenue just scan the QR code at the door.
The new Cyprus Ave is genuinely great. I've seen two gigs there since it re-opened God Is An Astronaut (as mentioned above - shite - the Coldplay of post-rock) and Microdisney - the sound and the sightlines are pretty much spot on. Great to have a venue like it in Cork.

Lol. That's the perfect description for that band.
Not long now Ted...
Should be a brilliant all-dayer.
I have failed to torpedo my brother's wedding which is taking place on the same day so I'll have to miss it.
Any set times available for this yet?
Did Desecration pull out of this?
Good while back yeah.
Set times plz.
Ah for feck sake, seriously? Why did Desecration pull out? Any suitable replacement?
Am I imagining it or did I see Desecration in Cork 20+ years ago? Burke's I think the name of the pub was?
Not imagining it at all boss! I put them on in De Burcas in White st the day the place was closing. They were chuffed to be playing next door to a mortuary and a tombstone maker IIRC!!
Morphosis and Carnun supported. Great fecking crowd as well, class for an afternoon show. April 1995 I think so a while back indeed! Scobes had a class video of crowd surfers ending up in the jacks stage left! :abbath:
I'd be seriously pissed if they're really not playing this. Sick wind up I hope.
Fuckin' hell, I remember that crowdsurfing/toilet incident now. That was a weird one. I don't think the Welsh lads knew what to make of it all, right mad crowd there that day if memory serves.
I might endeavour to make this one, work/finances permitting.
I can't find a sniff about this on their Facebook page. But their list of upcoming gigs don't include it. However their bandcamp page has them down for playing Cork??? Argh!
Desecration pulled out weeks ago. Replaced by Damim.

Typical Bank Holiday for me...
Family and hols have won out and I have to skip this. :( :( :( >:( >:( >:(
It was always on the cards fir me, though.
But I still managed to grabbed one of the 'very' early bird tix for it, just in case.
So someone's gonna get a last minute surprise for this gig.
A long shot, but if anyone has a cheaper ticket for this they want to shift, pm me.

That was a great day!,Malthusian,Pungent Stench, and Rotting Christ were the 3 i wanted to see,all delivered. The PS set was a real throw back,Rotting Christ were great!,place went mad for the old stuff!.
First time in Cyprus Avenue since it got the face lift,by far the best venue in Cork!.Cheers to con and Mark for putting it on.
What a day. First time at this venue really enjoyed it.
Class bands, highlights for me rotting Christ sodomised cadaver. Great venue, class crowd , no Muppet's. Defo be back next year. Fair play to those who organised this. Was worth the 3 hour drive down. :)
That was class, Cypress Avenue is a perfect venue. Great live room, can grab some grub and quiet(er) pints in between bands next door and smack bang in the middle of the city.
Some seriously great performances throughout the day, I saw most bands except FTBOA which im pissed off at meself for, but food was needed. Sodomized Cadaver were fantastic, crowd went mad for em. Rotting Christ were unreal, although I could do without all the clap alongs and '1-2-3's' every song
Damim were great, been waiting a fair few years to catch these lads again, criminally underrated band.
Kingwitch were exceptional, felt like classic heavy metal with insane vocals, didnt know anything about em, pleasant suprise.
Thought Pungent Stench were only ok, crowd loved em but I though they were a bit flat
What were the numbers for the weekend ?

Dunno, I'm on holidays. Didn't do the Lotto.
Place looked rammed for Rotting Christ, not sure what capacity is.
The capacity of Cyprus Avenue since it was renovated is 550, I think.
Delighted to hear that this was busy - I know the lads involved in Paranoid Beast worked their balls off to make it happen. Still gutted that I missed it - even though most of the bands wouldn't be my thing, I would have still gone if I had been in Cork.
Terzij de Horde were seeeeeerious. Intense show.
Overall a great day.

Got in early for Grave Sermon, sound wasn't the best and not familiar enough with them unfortunately. Their slower stuff came across much better as a result, the 2nd last track being excellent. Get more stuff up on bandcamp please!
Fecked off for a while then for lunch and the Cork U20 game v Kilkenny. Ignoramuses downstairs wouldn't put the commentary on as "it's in Irish" - WTF???? You'd swear it was some foreign language but apparently customers watching the match didn't want to listen to it and "majority rules" when I asked was he for real. Mind boggles - Rebel county and supporters my fucking hole, absolute disgrace. They had feck all reception anyway so watched it on the TG4 player and thankfully I had my earphones with me. Still fuming tho!
Got back for 100yo Man and although not my thing when checking them out in advance they really delivered live with some conviction and I really enjoyed them. Talking with them afterwards I mentioned my closest point of reference being Stand Up Guy and apparently they're great buds with them and they even contributed to recent recordings. Small world begor...
Bogs were interesting to catch live but they're just not my thing at all I'm afraid. Mix seemed really weak, whether by design or not I'm not sure but it's like Ronan was roaring into a Mic that was turned off??
Despite that the sound for Malthusian was excellent, great show. Roll on Killtown 🤘
Fecked off for Damim as not interested at all by what I heard beforehand. Buddy said afterwards though that it was like a Death "Human" performance??
Avoided Terzij as well while getting food and a pint and catching up with shams.
Sodomized Cadaver were right up my street, loved it! Great stuff and I wasn't familiar with them beforehand. Excellent musicianship and some nice ditties.
My mother wouldn't let me head to Belfast in 1991 to catch Pungent Stench and Brutal Truth the fecker but this set list made up for one disappointment at least! Really enjoyed this set.
Having tape traded RC in our school in the demo era it's mad that a greek band have now played Cork twice! Rotting Christ put on a great show but not au fait with the newer stuff at all so that left me a bit cold. Mad to see the bouncer take to the steps, then gradually relax and start to bang his head 👏 Left everyone to their own devices and RC gave him appreciation for the vibe up front.
Crowd totally disappeared for Raum Kingdom sadly but that was their loss. Great band live.
Gone for zhora, again not my thing at all after seeing them a few times.
Great catching up with folk from around the country and abroad. Pity I didn't manage to catch up with Jason and Cory of Grave Sermon but I guess that's a good sign of the attendance. Smashing venue, surely ready for a Primordial gig in Cork??
Bump for the Boss!
