Never really listened to Marduk, but I love me some Vader. :abbath:
Edit: Oof, Panzer Division Marduk is fucking tasty.
Yes!
This will be unreal in Dolans!,De Profundis set will be something else.
Definitely hitting all three shows. Anyone know of good places to stay near Dolans or the Limelight?
The Clayton literally across the road,Limerick city Hotel 5 min walk.
Is the Limerick City Hotel any cop? I've booked it for Bolzer/TROB in March.
Wonder will the change the setlist up. Needs more world funeral.
What's the craic with gigs down south, do ye need a covid cert to get in?

Sound, that'll do. Otherwise I could get a discount at the Clayton.

You need one to get into a bar so yeah.
I'll definitely head down to Dolans for this. I'll try to make the Dublin date too. I've never paid much attention to Vader but Marduk are consistently brilliant live.
Same as that. I've always put Vader on the long finger. Might give me a good excuse to get more familiar with them.
Get familiar with the De Profundis album , thats the set they are playing, great album.

It's a class album alright, the only weak track is Bloodletting. I have no problem with the set they're playing at the moment. I'd like to see them adding Hearse and Burn My Coffin.

Spoiler alert. An amazing setlist. Not easy to justice to such a vast discography but they've ticked a lot of boxes. Now to investigate some Vader. A band that has totally bypassed me over the decades. Inexplicably so.
That Marduk setlist. The last live show I was at was a Vader one in Feb 2020. Will do my best to attend all 3 shows.
Limerick show cancelled?,
Limerick show is cancelled yeah. Basic logistics really, their driver can't legally do the journey between the 2 dates so they opted to do Birmingham instead.
Very, very disappointed. In 14 years of putting on shows this is only the 2nd time something like this has happened with us once a show has been announced and for sale.
Hopefully no one booked accommodation already.
Thankfully I was holding on for payday to book tickets and accommodation. At least there will still be two shows. I'll kill the bastard that announces a lockdown for early January.
So am wondering now if this will be cancelled due to the new restrictions? Goddamn I was looking forward to it....
Same as that. Hard to see it being financially viable with a max of 150 people. Still holding out hope. One day before those shaggin restrictions end.
So Marduk are saying this is postponed.
Fuck me sideways.
Fucking ridiculous
We're going to have restrictions every December/Jan for years.Unless ICU capacity is increased.
We better start training up so Paul to staff the increased ICU capacity 😉 Or start grinds for the kids now...
Outdoor gigs in Fibbers might be the only thing for it, ugh.

Or until people cop the fuck on and stop complying with this bullshit.
So pissed off this was cancelled no doubt most of the other upcoming gigs over the next few months will be cancelled as well.
Picturing Mick right now...
Am desperate for a Dublin metal gig at this point! Are there any others on the horizon?
Am kicking myself for missing the Cruachan gig now, even though I had no clue it was happening until after the fact

Not quite there yet hasn't been too bad of a week overall.
Anyway how do you go about getting a refund for this? All I got from ticketmaster was an email saying it was postponed with no refund option. I most likely won't be living in Ireland whenever the rescheduled show takes place so I want a refund.
Was in a similar situation wih regard to Netherlands Deathfest. Took a lot of time but a refund option was eventually uploaded onto their Dutch homepage. Applied for same. Took months to come through but got there eventually. Contrast that with the hotel in Eindhoven who refunded within the week. Hope things work out.

Thanks. Yes had some tickets refunded that were for shows outside of Ireland in 2020. Took months to get a refund option for some of them which was very annoying and even then you only had 30 days to claim it. Ticketmaster are desperate to hold onto peoples money.
Did you guys get an alternative date? All it says is "postponed no date" for me.
From DME socials:
Hi folks. Supposed to still be on holidays here and I had no idea anything was being announced about this tour yet so apologies that a lot of you will have seen new dates for the Marduk/Vader tour without the Irish shows. Due to the agent's insistence on only pushing the tour back 2 months, it was impossible to find suitable venues available in either city. Therefore the Irish shows will have to be cancelled and refunds will be issued. This will be arranged next week when everyone is back to work. Thanks for your understanding.
Aw :(
Anyone else get a refund for Belfast? Got it today but was not refunded the full amount I paid and I can't see an explanation given as to why the money is short?

Yes I just got a refund to my paypal account. Got a full refund for Dublin but for some reason the Belfast refund was short. Annoying because even trying to contact ticketmaster is a headache in itself.
Short by much? Could be an exchange rate thing.
Almost €7 and it was refunded in sterling. They refunded me £27 and I paid almost £32. If it was a euro or two I would have put it down to the exchange. Fuck ticketmaster and all the bullshit fees I wouldn't let them keep a cent belonging to me.
I paid £27.75 and got back £27.75, but I'm in Belfast so there's no currency funny business.
Looks like a Marduk show or shows are going to be announced for here after Christmas.
That would be the tits.

Gig confirmed for April next year.
Is this likely to be sold out? Will tickets be available on the door?
Quote from: nightlord on January 20, 2024, 12:18:21 PMIs this likely to be sold out? Will tickets be available on the door?
Hard to tell but I would expect a warning will be sent out if tickets start to run low.
Do they usually play "Accuser/Opposer" with Alan Averill here, or was that just once or twice?
They have done before. Not just in Ireland.
Quote from: Gmajor1991 on March 31, 2024, 06:13:25 PMDo they usually play "Accuser/Opposer" with Alan Averill here, or was that just once or twice?
Hopefully they don't play that this time.
Not a fan? I liked it at the time. At this point I think it'd be taking up valuable set space that could be used for the new songs. Not pushed if they do or don't.
No never liked it. I remember everyone raving about it on metalireland when the album came out. Always skip it when I have Rom on.
Photos of all of the tour shirts / hoods were posted on the bands Facebook page today.
Jaysus, the wallet will be taking a hit at the show.
I had a look at the setlist from the last couple of nights. This should be savage!
I can't make this! What a balls.
That merch looks savage. Fuck it.
I can't wait for this one. Outrageously good few months of gigs. Probably the best I can remember and enough to entice me out of my armchair and back to the front row. Between Sigh, Emperor, Marduk and Abbath doing Immortal DME has really outdone itself.
Yeah I can't remember a year where Dublin has had so many quality gigs lined up!
Can't wait for Marduk, the last record is really good.
Is there anything on in the Foggy Dew before this?
Merch tomorrow is cash only.
Saw this in London last night. Band on great form, and excellent sound. Not sure if it'll be an issue tonight, but be aware Marduk played very early last night - 8.15, wrapped up about 9.30 despite an 11 curfew.
No sign of stage times then?
Marduk on stage 8:45 according to DME Facebook.
Times (subject to change):
Doors 6
Doodswens 6.30
Origin 7.30
Marduk 8.45
They are posted on the facebook page before every show.
Hope they play Blood of the funeral it is one of the best songs they have written in years. Be great to hear Werwolf also.
That new album is so so good. The slower tracks are very menacing.
If someone wants to get me shirt feel free as work is in the way again.
Thanks lads :abbath:
How was this one?
The full London set from Friday is up on YouTube:
https://youtu.be/k9JYyROgYgA?si=vYVgEkpSW2vzXaxo
Set list:
On darkened wings.
Equestrian bloodlust.
Shovel beats sceptre.
Souls for Belial.
The funeral seemed to be endless.
With Satan and victorious weapons.
Wartheland.
Blood of the funeral.
The levelling dust.
The sun has failed.
The blond beast.
Throne of rats.
Wolves.
Baptism by fire.
Missed the first band but caught Origin - band of the night for me, at least in terms of the crowd reaction, going nuts like I have never seen in Dublin. The guy in the white t shirt constantly stage diving was funny - getting himself all psyched up then gingerly lowering himself onto the crowd like an OAP 😄
Marduk were really good - no surprise to see Alan Averill up onstage, he'd get up on a gust of wind!
QuoteAverill up onstage, he'd get up on a gust of wind!
Looked like a great gig. Would love to have hit it but so much choice at the minute which is a great complaint
Got in late so was stuck up beside the sound desk. Very annoying that they seem to pick and choose when the balcony will be open had hoped it would be open last night. A horrible venue for so many reasons and the balcony is always the best spot in the place.
Missed Origin but no loss saw them plenty of times in Canada and the current line-up is pretty shite in my opinion both live and on record. Best time I ever saw them was the one and only time with the big singer when they played the Voodoo back in 2007.
Enjoyed Marduk. Would have been nice to get the Levelling Dust instead of being subjected to Accuser/Opposer yet again. Good setlist with a band with so many releases (I was playing all my Marduk vinyl all day yesterday 25 LPs which is crazy) you'll always have songs you want that they don't play.

Was mad into Origin in my late teens and revisited the first 2 albums during the week. They are musically impressive and great to see Longstreth play all these years later but it's not for me anymore. The confetti cannon and all that crowd work was beyond sickening. Hate all of that shite. I did get a laugh out of the crowd surfers alright especially yer man.
Marduk were good. No frills BM. Arioch is a great frontman and I enjoyed Accuser Opposer. Surprised they didn't have a second guitar but fair play to yer man changing a string under pressure.
Also great to see the place that packed and for there to be so many youngsters moshing. Hopefully they start bands.
Lots of moshing and general mayhem during the Origin set....one of the only things I like about Opium is the bouncers genuinely couldn't give a fuck. You could be knocking 12 shades of shit out of someone in the pit and the only concern might be if a disco dancer slips on the blood after the gig is done.
Was there a serious increase in lads out to record the whole show on their phones or is this just another step towards my old fart years?

Was even worse at Incantation cause you couldn't see shit anyway and then some dummy has his phone up. Ironically, and sadly, you could see more through the phone.

Didn't he do something like that at the Dublin gig?
He grabbed the phone out of a dude's hand and sorta went to throw it, don't think he was going to, but it slipped anyway and that was that.
QuoteWas even worse at Incantation cause you couldn't see shit anyway and then some dummy has his phone up. Ironically, and sadly, you could see more through the phone.
Particularly bad for that show, such a shit venue for view. I don't mind people taking a quick snap or two but holding the phone up for the entire gig is beyond dopey.
The amount of people recording the show was ridiculous. I think this was partly the reason Mortuus asked after nearly every song if this was really Dublin on a Saturday night, as the crowd were a bit dead and preoccupied holding up their phones.
Apart from that, good show!
