I'm hearing reports of serious hauls all after springing up in the last week. Going again Sunday and hopefully we get a good run at it before the frost

Fuck me ye lads have some good fields! I've never gotten more than 100 in one go, and it's a fair hike to get up there too!

I sent a fella to my field today and he just messaged me saying he got 100 in 10 minutes

That is an absolute gem of a field man. I got 600 in two hours in my two favourite fields (they're beside each other) last year. But your field sounds on fire this season...

Whatever is the story with the one I have I dunno. Loads of people know about it, it gets picked to death and still produces the whole season with lads picking hundreds each. Can't take a step in it without finding them. Long may it continue as it's one of the only good things in tipp

Fuck me! What is it about that field man? Is it at high altitude? South facing slopes? Don't worry I won't be in Tipp anytime soon 😂

Any tips for types area I should be looking in? Only dealt with home grows so I'm a novice picker but i know what I'm looking for. Heading home to the parents gaff soon, hilly just south of the border farm land. Worth a dander into any field or even the lawn? Or is there a specific type of field I should be looking for?

I have no idea why it's so good there. It's not particularly high altitude and the hill faces north west. Can pull up the car at the roadside, hop over the gate and straight down to business. There's sheep in there grazing which I believe helps.

What part of the country are you in? Any grazing field has potential and it's hard to describe exactly but they do grow nearly everywhere on the island. Usually up hills but that's not hard and fast either. Sorry that's not much help. I'll take a picture next time I'm out and that might help a bit

It will be in Monaghan. Fairly hilly ground but not a massive altitude if that makes a difference, plenty of grazed fields around at least. Was just wondering from the talk of South facing slopes if there were certain areas better suited to them growing rather than just running through random fields with cow shit in them

Went to a local playing field that I hadn't visited in about 3 years, because it dried up for some reason.
Got between 300/400 in about 40 minutes picking.
Looking forward to going back there next week...
I'll check my two favourite fields in a couple of days now that I know they are up here locally now.

Good haul! I was out today and got roughly the same in the same time.

Happy days. Hope the season stays going with the same vigour

That gorgeous feeling of literally standing on the mushies as you are picking them.
I picked around 1000 there in two hours....

Going well this season....

Savage. I need to get out next week. Was gonna go today but laziness took hold.

Holy fuck lads. I finally got to experience this. Found the holy grail of spots, literally could not look at any point of the field and not see mushrooms. Fuck me sideways,  must have picked about 800 - 1000 and I've only just scratched the surface of the field. Amazing.
