Shrooms bring out the best in people  ;)

:-*

Was out at my usual two fields last Thursday afternoon and found a grand total of 1 mushie.
That was to go with the eight I picked the previous week. The season's over for me..... all good though.

Ya its slim pickings out there now. Got 12 grams dried this year which is a lot more than previous years. I spotted other people on the golf course with flashlights the last time too the bastards.

Still going alright down my way anyway but it is at the latter (bitter) end of the season. I reckon this has to go down as the best season I've witnessed so far so no complaints. One of me mates has 150g dry and he has it divided into little jars of honey with 5g in each. Apparently that preserves them indefinitely and I'm considering doing similar. Be fair fuckin sick from all that honey but not half as sick as having no mushies.

Btw Kurt, I used your tip for the greaseproof paper and I'm never going back to the newspaper or tissue

QuoteGradually, as mushrooms and mushroom ecologies grew more rare, there may have been efforts to preserve mushrooms by drying and by preserving them in honey. As honey itself easily ferments into an alcoholic intoxicant, it is possible that over time a practice of mixing fewer and fewer mushrooms in more and more honey may have encouraged replacement of the mushroom cult with a cult of mead. No greater shift of social values is possible to imagine than that which would accompany the gradual changeover of a psilocybin cult to an alcohol cult.

No way! He didn't pull it out of his arse so, although I hadn't heard of it. A bit of mushie mead would surely be a delightful tipple. "Food of the Gods" indeed.

As much tripping as I have done I have barely scratched the surface of the likes of McKenna. I dunno if that's for good or bad

Edit: A society switching from magic mushrooms to alcohol as the main buzz can only have been a terrible thing now I think about it

A mate of mine is preserving some in honey too. You could always freeze them too. I just keep mine in a jar/tub in a drawer. Not like they're gonna stay there for too long 😂

I've always kept mine loose in a tub as well and always have them all eaten in time too. good surplus going this year though, seriously thinking about the honey

Haven't done them in years, but great Craic. Got very drunk on them 1 night😀

Anyone hopping off these lately? Certainly no restrictions in the mind anyway...

Last season was so good I still have more than I would collect in a normal good year.

In at least one way 2020 was as good as it gets

I'm doing some tonight actually. I have the house to myself so will do 5 or 7g's of the ones my friend grows.
I'm keeping the ones I picked for myself and a couple of friends for April (or whenever it's warm enough to hit a forest overnight) for an outdoors experience.

Okay, so just put about 8.5g's out there. Going to be an interesting and amazing night.  8)

Jaysus, best of luck on the journey. Had a decent few meself last night for the first time in ages and it was class. Great to have em
