Don't like jumpin on the "rumor train" etc but have any of ye heard the stuff coming out about McGregor.
"Someone" was showing me some stuff from a journalist around the assault charges McGregor went into the cops about recently. Some horrific stuff coming up about it, if its true he is fucked for life.

There's some stories out there atm but no names really being used like https://www.irishtimes.com/news/crime-and-law/sportsman-arrested-over-alleged-sex-assault-in-dublin-1.3762529

The rumour has been going around since the end of November and the latest part is RTE are being sued for the name leak or something about him getting arrested the photo that was going around on whatsapp. I would imagine the allegation is either bullshit or it was cooked up by his PR team to get more people talking because he's more active then ever on facebook and things like that lately whereas all last year before the fight and in the run up to it he rarely posted anything. As much as I dislike him I obviously don't want to see him getting done for anything like this and I want to see him fight at least once this year.

Khabib the one that get's bullied then gets done for bullying . So do these suspensions start from the night of the fight or from today?

Saturday night was very disappointing 35sec and as much as I like knockouts one fight went the distance, one made it to the second round and the rest were first round finishes  :-\. I was washing my hands at the sink when the Fedor fight started and it was over by the time I sat down  >:(.

Aldo fighting now on Saturday. I going to watch that bare knuckle Mexico Vs. the US on Friday night they had a PPV last Saturday as well anyone else been watching it?

If the stuff I saw and read from my friend is true.. it's game over on a whole different level. Hopefully not but if so... fuck! Anyway enough on that shite.

Yeah that Khabib bully thing actually made me laugh.. can't wait to see it!
"hey.. u guyz,... don't bully.. is not nice... or i come smesh u! Bully is no 1 bullshit"

The suspensions are retroactive so if Khabib does the bully thing, both him and McGregor will be back for April.

Also to add to that, Khabibs team mates Abubakar and Zubaira were also given one year suspensions and 25k fines.

10 Feb UFC 234
Whittaker v Gastelum
Adesanya v Silva

Whittaker v Gastelum I'll probably watch but tbh Adesanya v Silva... Anderson hasn't fought in two years. Has 6 fights between 2012-2017 in which he lost 5 of them. I can only assume he's coming back for the pay day and UFC want to give Adesanya more of a bump to his name by having beat 'a legend' etc

Then 18 Feb, Ngannou V Cain  :o  Really hope Cain comes back like a freight train. Be interesting to see how the time off  (2.5 years) will effect him, although I think he's been pretty much in DC's camp helping him so he should be good to go.

3 Mar UFC 235 - What a card
Jones V Smith
Woodley V Usman
Lawler V Askren
Garbrandt V Munhoz
Torres v Zhang
Stephens v Zabit

That'll be worth staying up till 5am for tbh

Also watch the  UFC 235 presser.. it's probably one of the funniest pressers so far.

MVP vs Daley.. The biggest loss in that fight fell on the people who sat through it zzzzz

Rumours of Tony Ferg v Max for an interim belt doing the rounds for UFC 236 .
That could be a great fight if it goes ahead.

A true true great gone today. At least he went on his own terms. GSP of course.
Whilst a ferguson Holloway fight could be great it seems they are pissing people off.
Both Porier and Iaquita have called for their release. Porier deserves his shot but they keep fuckin with him.
So many of the current roster seem to be st odds with the UFC brass. It's all going to shit.

Obviously a legend in the sport but for me he quickly became annoying with all that legacy fight shit at the end. He came came back to fight Bisping cause he knew it was an easy fight for him and then fucked off. He knew full well he wasn't going to defend the title. Even this latest announcement has a high chance of being some type of play to get the UFC to shell out more money etc

How so?

I'd say most of them are just fed up of all the shite going on. They know that they can keep fighting and winning regularly and fighters like GSP/Silva/McGregor/Lesnor etc can just turn up and skip the queue because all that matters is how much money the UFC can make.
They probably want to to One Championship where they will do pretty well position/money and just in general.

Obviously like any company the UFC want to make as much money as possible but it's just silly now. If you aren't a huge draw it doesn't matter if you win/lose/shit rainbows.. you'll be bumped to the side for a part time fighter who might bring in more money.

Look at Stipe who's had some issues with Dana/UFC in his time there. Lost to Dos Santos then came back and beat Hunt > Aslovski > Werdum (won belt) > Overeem > Dos Santos > Ngannou (where Dana etc pretty much spent it hyping up Ngannou and not a thing for the defending champion) and after the most title defenses in the division lost at the end of the first round to Cormier in July 2018.
And what did he get for all that.. sweet fuck all. Cormier has just been fucking around with the belts and moaning about Jones. Wants his last fight to be Lesnor who's not fought since 2016 and lost the last 3 fights... pissing hot (shocker) in the last fight against Hunt just to make even more money than he already does for fights.

A bit of shit show tbh

After watching Kron, I think it would be great to see an alternative to UFC. It has turned into a bit pf a slug fest and the martial arts side of things has been edged out. It more resembles kickboxing these days with some grappling thrown in here and there.

Woyld love to see rounds begin from where they ended i.e. if ur mounted on the ground, you start from there. Would also be great to get rid of the gloves. People say that it protects the fighter, but with the amount of wrapping going on under the glove, I think it, again, hinders a lot of  BJJ/grappling. Those who bay for blood wouldn't be happy, but I think we would have a far more real spectacle. Also, possibly longer rounds. This whole suffering it out until.the bell stuff, it's completely against the founding ideas of the sport.

It 100% feels like working to achieve and deserve a title shot has gone out the window. As stated on other posts it's business but there should still be some form of legitimacy to title shots.
Legacy fights etc are nice but I it's all they seem to be interested in now. How yer man beating Silva puts him in line for a middleweight belt shot is beyond me.
With all the second coming promotion they put into Ngannou he now says the fool White has not spoken to him in a year. I'd imagine the Fertitta bros are happy they got out. The shitload of money helps but you know what I mean.

The only reason for the gloves is to protect the fighters hands. Without gloves your hand would break a lot easier during a fight. Back in the old days before gloves the fighters had to pick and choose punches because too many and your hand is gone. You also get less head shots with no gloves which also makes things safer because you hit someone on certain parts of the head 9 times out of 10 your gonna fuck your hand up. The only thing about no gloves is it's lot easier to cut some.

I think Tank Abbot was the first person to wear gloves, then you had people like Don Frye, Coleman, Couture etc. wearing them then around 1999 the commission made gloves mandatory so I don't think we will ever see a UFC again without gloves thanks to the commission.

I agree no gloves would be great and so would making headbutts and knees on a grounded opponent (like the pride days) legal again and bringing back one night tournaments. The main problem is the people who decided what is and isn't legal for the most part have no experience fighting are just general doctors and medical staff.

The problem with longer rounds is people will just drop to the ground and do the bare minimum to see the timer out as well. Not many of the referees stand up fighters when they should for inactivity on the ground, sure just watch some of the first superfights back at the beginning with Ken Shamrock and Royce, Taktarov etc it was because of the way fights like these ended up going that they started to bring in rounds.

All fair points. I think the hand break issue is exactly why gloves should be taken away. I know it won't happen but it would make for compelling viewing. I love old Bas rutten fights, pancrase, all that stuff. Headbutts should def be allowed. I think the current rules definitely favour wrestlers and ground and pound. Would be great to see that reversed somewhat.

UFC 235, just on the main card

Garbrandt V Munhoz - Not overly bothered about this one
Lawler V Askren - I really hope Robbie wins this one and just destroys Askren.
Woodley V Usman - Can't see Usman being a problem for Woodley
Jones V Smith - Wouldn't it be mental if Smith KO'd Jones. It would be like Holm v Rousey, Serra V GSP etc
Just looking @Smith he's had 44 fights since 2008 with 31/13, averaging about 3 or 4 a year! He's only 2 behind Cowboy whos been going since 2006 with 35/11.

I hope and pray that Robbie Lawlor wins and wins well. There is nothing likeable about Askren.
With regards to Woodley.... he is a phenomenal athlete but he so BORING. He also moans about everything and he is now a hip hop artist. I would like to see him lose just to see if he has the fire that made him a champ the first time.
Rooting for Smith big time as Jones is a tool. Extremely talented but all this Jesus is gives me power and legacy shit is old. I want to see him laid out.
