So, if it sells out, €8250 gross to get two stages built, waterproofed and powered up for a weekend, chemical toilets, security, clean-up afterwards and maybe petrol money for the bands? Ah heeeyor.
According to the Facebook thread the venue has stages and is ready to go, but he won't say where it is to stop people trying to get in without tickets. Would've thought that's what you pay security for...

And out of that  €8k wouldn't there be about 13% due on VAT to be paid along with the other expenses?
And don't forget public liability insurance 😂

Quotebut he won't say where it is to stop people trying to get in

I don't think Phil knows where it is.

From the sound of it, Leo Bloom from the Producers is helping with the books.

I know where this is on and it's fairly rural. Tis on a sound bucks land so should be sound. Only a few bands though I'd want to see at it.

Maybe TBC is a big pull, like a Shoctopus reunion show.

I dunno lads, I hope he pulls it off in spite of everything going against it. Eventually we could all be going to Leitrim for our kicks.

Although this is a lad here who never gets off his arse for anything anymore so goodwill such as mine will do fuck all for him.

This is on the same place that gothic species festival takes place.
It's impossible to find and it's in the middle of nowhere.
There is stages ready though so that won't be a problem.
That species festival was so bad as well.
Not a hope I would go to this.

Take it none of the bands are getting paid either.

Yeah, was thinking the same thing myself. Even if all the money generated by ticket sales went towards paying the bands, it still only works out at €220 each (think my maths are OK), but that's excluding the other costs that need to be covered. I'm not a promoter so I might be missing something really obvious, but are there really bands out there so desperate for exposure that they will play for next to nothing? And if that was the case, capping the attendance at 150 passes hardly guarantees much of an audience. No offense to the bands that have been confirmed, but there are no big names on that lineup and I can't see this drawing anyone other than this lad's mates, and friends of the bands. Like, why would you go to this when you have the likes of the Siege of Limerick and Monolith in Cork?

Not sure why there's only 150 tickets either when the place can hold 300?

Welcome to being in an original band in Ireland. If the band is new on the scene you'll be playing for  petrol money if your lucky. If the promoter is sound the door will be split. You can only charge money once your on the go a while and established.

150 band members brings it nicely up to capacity.

Or alternatively, you can just agree payment up front. Been saying this for years: if you're a promoter, part of your job is to pay the fucking bands, and if you're a band relying on the goodwill of a promoter you're doing it wrong.

That's another rant for another thread though  Realistically I'd imagine the bands are under the impression they'll be paid.

I bet they are. But you're right, that is a rant for another thread. Would make for a very interesting  thread.
