QuoteHundreds of French supermarkets have been hit by a cyber attack that caused their fridges and freezers to heat up, spoiling fresh and frozen food estimated to be worth millions of euros.

Hackers gained control of the software that regulates the temperatures of the refrigeration units, forcing some to warm to 50C (120F) overnight, according to one supermarket chain affected.

Maybe...just maybe....fridge/freezers shouldn't be connected to the internet??
Was in a supermarket a couple of weeks ago where all the price labels were digital and each one had those tiny cameras built in.
All those flickering red and green lights on those things, very unsettling really.
I actually felt sorry for the staff being in there 8+ hours a day. It can't be good for a body and mind to be around that...

Where was that? I know in the US they have electronic pricing labels in a lot of supermarket chains. They will try to fk us over with dynamic pricing eventually ->

Stockholm city centre, an ICA supermarket, Swedish.
They're for exactly that, dynamic pricing. Once these things work out your shopping routine. Say for instance, your favourite coffee brand that you purchase every 2 weeks on average. These things will be tracking you around the shop and once you get to the particular isles in the shop where they know you're going to usually pick up something in your weekly or bí-weekly shop. The system will put the price up automatically just before you get to your favourite coffee or whatever is your shopping purchase routine.
These things are definitely not there for the public's benefit.

Geez, I better stop going to that supermarket where I'm the only customer.

"Unblocked" B. Billy already i see

I repeat, not for the customers benefit...

2.26 x 2.25 = $5.01
