Cannot wait for this! Just got back from Goteborg Brinner last night! Disappointed for In Flames to be the support act though.

How was Göteborg Brinner? It was just one day I believe...
Göteborg is a cracking wee city? Did you go to Liseberg? Ha...

It was awesome. The festival itself, to be honest, was pretty poorly planned...long queues for everything (talking 90-120 minutes for food), some people couldn't see bands on the second stage as it was indoors and full if you weren't in early enough.

Dark Tranquility and In Flames were amazing though, and seeing Mikael Stanne perfom with In Flames was pretty historic! Bumped in to In FLames tour manager in Restaurant 2112 on Sunday night and I asked him directly if he thinks they'll play Ireland again....fecker only told me they keep looking in to it but it's too expensive!

Didn't make it to Liseberg as we only had 2 days, made it to the IFK Goteborg game though!

Lol, I read about the US version of this tour yesterday (presumably announced months ago) and was wondering if it would come over here. Didn't think we'd be so lucky.

I don't mind Trivium being the headliner for this show. Back in the day, I loved some of In Flames' stuff, but I can't say I'm overly familiar with anything in the last decade or two.

Yer man Leather Mike gutted it's in Dublin:his tag might go off 😂

Grabbed a seated ticket there for €80.

In Flames will be grand, never really dived too deep into their stuff and can't remember what they were like with Slayer back in 2006 because I was 16 and had one too many cans of cider.

Haven't listened to any recent In Flames albums but really enjoyed their set at Mystic last year.

Also got a seat, €94 for the central block. Standing is €92. Crazy but I guess that's where we are now.

I missed them completely at that gig for the same reason

Last time I saw In Flames was the Ambassador in '06 on the Come Clarity tour, and that was the last album I had any time for from them

Seems to be a rake of these bands playing the 3 Arena now that I never would have thought would fill it. It was only a couple of years ago Trivium were playing the Helix in DCU, and they haven't really done anything since

Was the 2006 show not with Sepultura? I was trying to remember my first time seeing them at the beginning of the month and it was this. No interest in, In Flames so I didn't bother sticking around for them and didn't Slayer play the point in November of that year? They were hardly here twice in the same year as that's something that never happens in Ireland when it comes to metal gigs.

Edit: Just checked and In Flames were one of the supports at the Unholy Alliance show in 06.

They played in March 2006 with Sepultura in the Ambassador then in November with Slayer, Lamb of God and Children of Bodom on the Unholy Alliance

Tbf Trivium have headlined Bloodstock in the meantime and done a co-headline arena tour with Bullet for My Valentine which sold out a lot of big sheds in the UK including the O2. To me it seems it's In Flames who are the ambitious co-headliner/special guest on this tour based on their recent work and the modest venues they usually play.

Yep just seen that I couldn't remember who played the UH other than LOG as Slayer was the only band I wanted to see at the show. I will always remember that show for being the first time I had ever seen a tour shirt being sold for €40 which I thought was crazy.

That is mad, still have my Iron Maiden shirt from the point in 2006 and think it was €25
