Could do. My plan was to set up accounts for anybody who is submitting, so it appears on the front page as a post from their profile, but if that's too much hassle for some people then emailing it in and me posting it with a credit is also viable.

Everything can be emailed to:
submissions (at) metalwarfare (dot) com

Not sure if this has already been suggested, but I think it might be worthwhile to have a "Classifieds" section.

The Musicians Forum is pretty much geared toward , well.... gear.

The Sales/Trades section is for exactly that - selling & trading..

Sure, there's sites like bandmix, gumtree, squeezebox, etc. but lets face it - if you're looking to set up a metal band/project then being able to advertise in a place exclusively for like minded people would be a massive bonus.

Maybe just rename sales/trades to classifieds and it should cover it all?

Fair point. Could go 1 of 3 ways:

- Posts go in the "Musicians" forum
- "Sales/Trades" gets renamed "Classifieds" and everything goes there
- A new board gets created

Any input?

Rename it to classifieds is probably the best and makes the most sense.  Wouldn't add another board for it.

Yeah, I'd agree with just renaming the Sales/Trades to Classifieds. Makes sense.

Sales/Trades has been renamed. Cheers for the input guys.

Just submitted an interview to Ham there. So front page content is imminent!

Link from forum.metalwarfare.com to the front page - www.metalwarfare.com - could be a lot more explicit. When you're on the main forum page, it's not obvious that "Home" means some other page. Maybe some kind of stand-out link that draws attention to itself and to the fact that clicking on it leads to a whole other non-forum area.

Agreed. I've changed it to say "MW Home". Is that any better or is it still unintuitive? I've also changed it so if you click on the "Boards" menu option on desktop it'll take you to the main forum index. It'll expand the board list if you're on mobile. Clicking the banner will take you to the forum index on all browsers.

So, what's the craic with the front page then? Will there be album/live reviews, or interviews? I'm just curious as the page has remained the same for ages.

It's creeping up on a year and the front page has been doing very little and it looks pretty bad. I've updated it so it defaults to the gig listings. At some point I'll maybe add other sections for some relevant stuff like venues, recording studios, distros etc.

Reviews and the likes might be added at some point in the future, but for now it doesn't look like it'll be happening

I'm going to guess the answer to that is because "Nobody has been arsed to do them".

Filling front page content on a site is a pain in the hole.
If it's not your full time job where you can commit the time, or at least a paid concern, then it's just not worth it.

I'm in the same situation with the Irish Metal Archive.
For the most part I just tip away at adding band profiles and adding to existing band profiles.
But reviews and such are just a nightmare to keep on top of.
And adding gig listings is even fucking worse...

As much as it was a huge hit in the sack to the Irish Metal Community, I can totally see why CT ended Metal Ireland so abruptly.
