Only ever took notice of Archspire last week or the week before when the new album dropped.
It's gotten a few spins already, and I must pick it up on vinyl...

50/50 on this, thought they were only okay in Whelan's, bit of a laptop band, but gave the new album a spin the other day and enjoyed it on first listen. Also enjoy all 3 previous records.

I've been relentlessly playing their new album. It's absolutely amazing stuff.

They are phenomenal musicians for a start. There's a making of documentary on Youtube that shows the guys in studio, also Dean Lamb has his own Youtube channel where he plays his own and other bands songs.
The song writing is so good, I am really digging the melodic aspects of the new songs. It gives a sense of relief from the ultra fast sections and holds the whole song together.
The song videos are also so well done, really funny stuff. Carrion Ladder is an 8 Mile parody and is well worth watching.

Mostly, I like that the guys are funny, not taking things too seriously, messing around, now that they have gone independent I am really hoping they succeed.

I thought the support bands were fairly shit yeah, Zenith Passage have potential but they are not quite cohesive enough, the other 2 are not my thing at all, fairly boring to me.
Yeah i think the t shirt said (bassist) Jared is not a Paedo.

I enjoyed the set, all the big hits, the guys are demons on their instruments, lovely stuff
