Playing this with Shardborne on the Friday. Lineup is great! Happy to see something cool happen in Galway and at that time of year its nice to have something to look forward to.

Anyone have any details on the merch fair before this? Is it just merch of the bands playing or will there be a few distro stalls with vinyls etc?

The Blue Note have been doing these merch fairs for a few smaller/local weekenders (ie. Going Coastal) the past year or two. Usually it's a DIY, local affair where bands playing will set up their own merch stalls. It's probably the same craic again for this, but there'll be the likes of Blowtorch Records there and they'll sell vinyl from whoever is on their roster for example (they represent two or three of the bands on this bill). That's my guess going on similar past events. Will be worth the look anyway for sure.

Okus had to pull their gig which is a shame, was looking forward to a bit crustiness upstairs in the small room after Primordial.

Doors advertised for 7pm, so knowing the Róisín, Genuflection will probably start at 7:30 sharp. Primordial probably sometime after 9pm. They'll want an hour for change over to the two bands on the midnight slot.

I see there's the weekly drag night on upstairs, will be a fairly gas sight to see those two crowds mingle in the smoking area.

Safe to land in around 9 i reckon so. Can always pop upstairs so if Primordial aren't up to scratch!

If the organisers were truly on the ball they'd stick on a DJ playing exclusively hair metal up there.

Got an email with stage times

19:15  Genuflection
20:00  Death The Leveller
20:45  Primordial

Great to see the Róisín rammed for a metal gig. I got word that it'll be a yearly thing from chatting to the guy who runs the place. Primordial were  fairly class as usual, cool to see them in such a small club setting. Alan Averil was some dose though in between songs. Had to tune it out to enjoy the set
