The Schizophrenia stuff is some of my favourite meat-and-potatoes metal from the last few years. The outro riff of "Stratified Realities" is chef's kiss good.

Would love to have seen this, "Time Does Not Heal" is my favourite thrash album. Oh well.

I'm halfway through listening to the album right now and picking up on a lot of stuff that I wasn't getting last night so they've gone up in my estimation over the last half hour or so, must look out for the end of Stratified Realities shortly so!

Thought it was great myself. Support were grand, I'd be tempted to check them out after that even though I reckon it could be a bit repetitive.
Dark Angel were class, maybe the atmosphere was a bit subdued due to the attendance. Yeah, nice to be able to move about freely with pints in hand and not worry about getting shoved constantly.
Is €50 steep for what we got? I don't think so, it's pretty much in line with prices these days. Considering you're paying nearly €8 for a drink.
Shocking merch though, the usual case of retarded back prints.

No I disagree 50 was steep for Dark Angel and a lightweight support. It was definitely a factor in the low turnout, as someone said 15 cheaper would've swung it.

To put in perspective Testament/Obituary/Destruction is 63, there's a fourth band on the bill who's name escapes me but you're getting bang for buck there.

Yeah, I didn't begrudge the ticket price at all and also will echo the point that it was great to get about with pint in hand and down to the front handy. Didn't buy a t-shirt either, just the Schizophrenia cds.

Nervosa. Not bad but I wouldn't bother to see them headline.

~€40 would have been a more appropriate price for Dark Angel IMO, unless they had a better support.

Can someone here confirm that their singer is nearly 60?? Is he straight edge or something???

Quote from: Giggles on June 12, 2025, 12:12:28 PMThe happiest looking drummer I've ever seen in a metal band?

I said that to Thorn after their set had finished, "Either he's in a lot of pain, or he's the happiest drummer in the world." Enjoyed Dark Angel a lot, great opening with Time Does Not Heal. Not overly impressed with the shirts though, tour dates on the back? No, let's just put some of those slogans instead.

First time seeing Dark Angel live (hopefully not the last!), and it was a good night! I went mainly because they were performing "Darkness Descends" in its entirety, but I enjoyed the first half of the show quite a bit too. Rob's vocals didn't bother me at all, he actually did a nice job keeping the crowd engaged. He's already 60, I didn't know! That said, I get where some of the criticisms are coming from overall.

As for Schizophrenia, they were decent and definitely put in the effort to hype up the crowd, but something just felt a bit off or missing.
