Hatebreed aren't nu metal. While they haven't released anything good in 20 years the first 3 albums are classics.

Quote from: Circlepit on February 04, 2025, 04:42:43 PMYes, all day. Perseverance, Rise Of Brutality and Supremacy are all brilliant.

I got Supremacy when it was released and remember being disappointed by it as it was a lot different to the first 3. I saw them doing Perseverance in full on the 15th anniversary tour with Terror supporting which was great.

Hatebreed is another band that I don't think has played here in a very long time. Last time I saw them in Ireland was in Whelans which was maybe 2010 or 2011 have they been back since?

As for Pantera it mostly seems to be the majority retarded fanbase that gives them the bad name. Similar to a rap duo whom I won't name that have a few very good albums but their legions of retarded reject fans which the group encourages turns so many people away from them.

Hatebreed are a hardcore band and ICP fans are far more entertaining than Pantera fans.

I know they aren't nu metal, although some of their songs aren't far off that genre. I was lumping them in with the jock metal that became popular in Pantera's wake.

Juggalos are family yo!😂

Would Satyricon be a band that get a fair bit of hate due to some of the later albums and Satyr being a millionaire off the wine company nowadays?

They get hate for being the text book definition of sell-outs. Changing style to sell more records and Satyr shitting all over the genre that made him.

Quote from: Giggles on February 02, 2025, 06:36:18 PMNickleback were always quite the punching bag but I'm not sure why?

I've only ever heard whatever songs were on the radio at the time about 20 years ago and I wouldn't describe them as awful, yet it seems like it's cool to hate them. I don't know anything about them, is yer man a twat or something?

Perhaps controversial, but I've never understood people who love Nirvana and hate Nickelback.

If you love a band whose name starts with a certain letter, it doesn't me you can't hate a totally different band whose name happens to begin with the same letter. Hopefully moving forward that'll help you understand  :D

I think Satyr gets a pass for crimes against black metal on the back of the first few Satyricon albums.

Granted their recent output has been bland, but there's no denying the brilliance of the Joshua Tree and their transition from Rattle and Hum to Achtung Baby and how zootv reinvented the live concert experience, and still the hate, also I'm no fanboy for U2 btw, the above are just facts.

Judas Priest also get shat on quite a bit, even though they are the epitome of metal and held in high regard as influences by metallica, megadeth, slayer etc etc

I hate the 90s era. Hated it then and hate it now, but I get your point about the life show which became elaborate. The 80s stuff is very good, though.

Pop is my favourite U2 album, closely followed by The Unforgettable Fire and Zooropa. They were great in the '90s, regardless of the backlash. I'm talking about the music of course, Bongo and their image in general is atrocious but when they were good, they were fucing great.

I can understand people not liking Turbo and Ram it Down or the Ripoff Blowens albums, or that Loch Ness song... but do they really get shit on for anything else from a music perspective?

I think they do, most don't get past living after midnight or breaking the law, which I'm not a huge fan of myself either, funny enough I like Turbo myself, yep how to explain that!

I'll just shoot several fish in the barrel all at once to get it over with ->

Five Finger Death Punch (maybe this will spur on LeatherMike to register  )
Dave Matthews Band
Imagine Dragons
One Minute Silence
Yoko Ono

And we all know why.
