I actually like a good bit of the One Minute Silence stuff up to this day. I think they were very much overhyped by Kerrang and Metal Hammer but I don't see what's so bad about anything after the first album (production on that album has to be some of the worst ever) that you'd still remember to hate them. Is it the very strong political stance or the overhype of the time, or simply the bad music that gets them on the list?

Speaking of throwing things at bands, Linkin Park got a lot of hatred when they opened for Metallica at the RDS in '03!

A mate of mine says it all kicked off when the singer said something like "We should be headlining here, not Metallica".  I don't remember any such comment, but my mate seems sure that's what kicked it off?

Maybe somebody else that was there could clarify?

Was there and that definitely didn't happen but I know there was at least one bottle of piss thrown at them. It actually sounded like they were just playing the cd and miming to it. Surely the most drab live performance I've seen, but no that headlining thing definitely didn't happen

Hetfield was bottled when he asked if anyone picked up St Anger. If anyone was shit that day it was Metallica, they've since tightened up somewhat - I've seen a few better performances since but there were mistakes all over the shop, Lars was abysmal and Hammett wasn't too far behind. The hills have eyes crowd lapped it up though. Some amount of troglodytes at that.

Can also confirm that Metallica were absolute dogshit at that gig.

Thank fuck I made up for it when they played Master Of Puppets all the way through and then I vowed to never see them again

Reminds me of when Marilyn Manson opened for Iron Maiden in the RDS and the guitarist got smashed with a potato mid song, with so much force it just exploded and then MM was singing with his foot on monitor and got hit in the head with a big dirty runner
