Not big on books like this unless the band are interesting. I love Immolation but I can imagine the book they recently released putting me to sleep. I ordered the Dissection book can't wait to get it.  €50 odd for a 200+ page hardcover book is a very decent price and actully on the cheap end of things when it comes to hardcover books not to mention the amount of work that went into this over the last decade.

The store has a massive selection of stuff so order some good music like the Arckanum reissues and make the postage worthwhile.

Ordered the Hammer of Damnation book from them recently and its very well done. Can also confirmed it was very well packed.

Finally got the Dissection book yesterday. I have just flicked through it so far and it looks great. Some great photos including one of John with short hair slicked back which I have never seen before. It's always either been long hair or a shaved head. Another of him in prison with a black eye.

The only criticism I would have is I expected more photos but the I Am The Great Shadow book has tonnes of pictures.

For those asking about the MLO they have a few bits and pieces at the end which are extracts from interviews with John and Set were they go into a small bit of detail on it and it's nothing that Vlad has written about in any of his books more of a basic explanation of what they believe / a bit more detail on the meaning behind some of the songs on Reinkaos.

If you are a Dissection fan then I would suggest getting this along with the I Am The Great Shadow (that is if you can find it anywhere).

The 1st edition of Far Beyond Light has already sold out but DSR are currently taking pre-orders for a reprint which I think will be out once the webstore reopens next week.

Keep us updated, I'm still mulling over buying this one. Last I checked it was a ridiculous price, but if it was excellent I might still consider buying it.

I read a review saying it's absolute shit, I can't remember where.
Skims over the albums and quite disjointed in the approach.
I'd still like to get it though to see for myself.

I've heard nothing but bad reviews of it.

Yeah I've seen people say there is zero critical analysis of Nodveidt's behaviour/ mental state. It's just a big dick suck.

I read it over the holidays - its a big dick suck, exactly. It's disjointed and not very well written and very unbalanced. The stuff about the early years and during the recording the albums is what interested me and that's nice to read and good commentary from those that were around or in the band at the time.  I cant say I came away from reading the book with a new appreciation for the guy - a lot of the mentality seems very gang-ish and immature to be honest (I guess they were pretty young to be fair) but still, the coverage of the murder is deliberately glossed over.  I dunno... it certainly wasnt a brilliant read and I doubt i will re-read it in a few years time.  The gig in Whelans all those years ago was one of my fav shows ever, but the guy clearly had a lot of issues (duh) and i find it hard to listen to them anymore really, pity, there was some great music in there. A few rare recordings are referred to in the book which i found on Youtube and they were cool to hear.

A load of rare and unreleased stuff was included with the tape box set. I would be very interested in seeing the Maha Kali music video that is mentioned but I guess just like the DVD of the final show it will never be released.

I bought the book but havent got round to reading it yet, need to finish off another book before I dig into this.
Was there any mention about his dislike for Soul Reaper that formed by ex members while he was locked up?

Ya i think they get shit on somewhere alright
