I'm sure they'll deliver, last time I saw them they were top notch.

I only saw the videos because I went looking for stage-times on their Instagram.

Never seen them do a bad show.

Support tonight is from Throwing Shapes who I haven't heard of before.

Throwing Shapes @ 2000hrs
The Redneck Manifesto @ 2100hrs

That was really nice. Good to see they were definitely having the craic as well.

Pity there's not more cool shit booked there because it's by far the best venue in terms of sound and production generally.

I got in just as the support, Throwing Shapes, had kicked off - they'd be grand to listen to if you were trying to relax but not great to get the blood pumping of a Friday night.

The Redneck Manifesto played well, as always, but there was no real energy for them to feed off. That has to be the smallest crowd that I have seen them play to since they were starting out. There were less people in Cyprus Avenue than when they played De Barra's on a cold midweek night in 2016.

Were there even 100 people in the room? I don't think that there were.

TRM were good craic and the sheer look of panic/worry on Richie's face when he couldn't remember the opening riff of "Black Apple" was gas - amplified by Matty winding him up/not help him.

You're dead right in what you say about Cyprus Avenue needing to book more decent gigs - the space deserves better acts than (most of) the stuff that's they're programming.

Saw them in Dolans the other night. It was an enjoyable show, great energy and playing from the band. I thought it would have been a little busier (not that there was a bad crowd) but I'd imagine a lot of their crowd went to electric picnic.
