You can't keep a heavy metal legend down.
KK's Priest is a hard rock supergroup founded by ex-Judas Priest six-stringer K.K. Downing. Formed in 2019, the band is comprised of Downing, former Priest members Tim "Ripper" Owens (vocals) and Les Binks (drums), guitarist A.J. Mills (Hostile), and bass player Tony Newton (Voodoo Six). The band released their Billboard-charting debut album Sermons of the Sinner in 2021, followed two years later by its sequel, Sinner Rides Again.
Downing was a member of the seminal NWOBHM metal group from 1970 to 2011. Upon leaving Judas Priest, he elected to spend some time away from the spotlight to focus on writing his autobiography. The resulting Heavy Duty: Days and Nights in Judas Priest appeared in 2018, and the following year he formed KK's Priest. Emulating the sound, speed, and style of his flagship band's halcyon days, KK's Priest released their first single, the thrash-fueled "Hellfire Thunderbolt," in early 2021. It was followed later that year by their first full-length effort, Sermons of the Sinner, which hit number four on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and made several charts around Europe. Capitalizing on their success, KK's Priest soon returned to the studio to record their follow-up LP. Produced by Downing and mixed by Danish metal specialist Jacob Hansen, lead single "One More Shot at Glory" appeared in June 2023 ahead of the full-length Sinner Rides Again.

Been listening to KK's Priest (and Jugulator) a good bit on a real Priest buzz since the 3 arena gig was hoping I'd get a chance to see this at some point. My wife's birthday perhaps if I book an early dinner beforehand in the city could scam my way into getting to this  :abbath:

I was looking up setlists and was disappointed to see they hardly do any Ripper era Priest, is that not mad?

To be honest it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if the Ripper era stuff wasn't included..as long as he doesn't play Breaking The Law, Living After Midnight or Metal Gods...

If its only one of them played I can deal with that..but no more...not to sidetrack the thread but Priest themselves seem to be of the impression that if they don't play Breaking, Living or Metal Gods there would be a riot, I'b be more inclined to riot if there was no Beyond the realms, Victim of Changes, Rapid Fire or Grinder...

Only tune they do from Ripper era is Burn in Hell. Does seem to be demand to hear Cathedral Spires etc. so hopefully they rehearse and get a few more Jugulator cuts out.

Apart from Burn in Hell it's mostly Painkiller tracks, their lifetime song stats are here on setlist.fm

Would have thought they'd do more alright, especially after KK and Owens have been pretty vocal in interviews about those two albums being ignored

I'd be happy if they at least threw in Cathedral Spires

Well that's it. I thought there'd be 3-4 in there. The stupid Fleetwood Mac cover routinely gets aired which is a complete waste. Hopefully it'll be changed up by the time these gigs rock around. I'm still looking forward to it, just irked by that.

Rapid Fire and Grinder don't make the cut for me.

I'm not a fan of that tune but saw Ripper when he played in Fibbers a few years back and it was fucking great live, so it's grand for me. Another vote for Cathedral Spires here and I wouldn't get upset with Hell is Home from Demolition either. Perhaps they're cautious about adding the Ripper era stuff since the Priest folk are making it very hard to listen to, they're concerned some people wouldn't know it at all. Grand if you have the CDs and that, but if you're of the Spotify generation it might all be a mystery.
