Have seen him twice in belfast, think he might be localish (maybe mistaken) he goes fully in on AV side of it. Individual 4d visuals he designs himsslf for each track deadly stuff in person, especially if you dabble in the trippy vizules

Vex'd - Angels. Fuckin hell. That album Degenerate was class and the first dubstep I heard before the total saturation and subsequent death of it. Heard it at Roryfest, Ballyshannon in 05/06 after having a blast of salvia. Mental.

Came across a clip of Elias' death in Platoon on twitter and thought I'd go off and listen to the full tune and came across the "Agnus Dei" choral version of Adagio For Strings on YouTube and I know it's done to death but what an astounding piece of music it is. Was very close to being moved to tears. Love when that happens. Must throw it on after a feed of drink some evening and see if it finishes me off altogether lol. I still prefer the original string version but the choral one is spectacular as well.

I wonder why they never crack this one out at Christmas mass. The tunes at Christmas mass are actually unreal as well now that I'm thinking about it. Half the time I'm expecting them to kick into White Slavery

Edit: I know less than nothing about classical stuff but surely a few lads here know a bit of it. What style would that be called and is there more of that. I wouldn't be into the famous stuff I picked up ten CDs of classical greats once upon a time and I didn't enjoy it at all apart from the Seasons one which was decent

I picked up a Gregorian chants CD for the same reason as you. I found it a bit uplifting and not as somber/ dark as I was looking for. There was a couple of great ones in there all the same.

I'm also more or less clueless with classical. Adagio is one of the finest pieces of music ever composed and I've never really come across its equal.

Ludovico Einaudi is brilliant. A lot of piano that wouldn't be out of place on an Anathema record.

Orbital's track 'Belfast' samples a 11th/12th century nun, Hildegard von Bingen.

Check her out for early chant

I  just google/Spotify her, and play whatever takes my fancy
