Shockingly the only Le Guin I have ever read is "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" and it was because the other guitarist/vocalist in Third Island wanted to base an album lyrically on it (which ended up being Omelas).  It's a short story but it is good, I enjoyed it, and have meant to read more since but just never have.  It was also fun tearing it apart for lyrics.

I recently read Brett Anderson's two autobiographies, they're interesting as a Suede fan but if you weren't, there's a lot of... wallowing I suppose that can get repetitive. Very enjoyable for me as I love those first few Suede albums.

Change of pace now, I'm a couple of chapters into Richard Coles' first autobiography. Not great so far but sure it's early days.

Just finished a short book - A Short Stay in Hell by Steven Peck. A man dies and discovers he followed the wrong religion so is sent to a Hell modelled on Borge's Library of Babel. He can only escape hell if he finds a book containing the story of his life in a library of (possibly) infinite books.

Breezed through it and really enjoyed it.

I want to read that one myself but it's a bit pricey for a novella.

I grabbed it on the kindle for about 5 or 6 quid which was grand. If you come across it for a decent price its definitely worth a look.

Back to reading about the Nazis now - gonna kick off tonight with Evans "Third Reich at War"

I bought it on Amazon UK, 99p for the Kindle edition. You can't buy Kindle books on the Irish site.

Mad, I went onto the Amazon app and Kindle app and it was around €7, but going through Chrome it was there for a quid, bang and done. Thanks. Very strange, but I'm very grateful.

I must go through the same channel more often, I might find more stuff marked down.

Picked up Foster, Claire Keegan's novella that An Cailín Ciúin was based off, yesterday. Started it last night, finished it this morning. As beautiful and moving as the film. Also picked up The Third Policeman, which I've never read though been meaning to for decades now, so will get stuck into that now.
