I don't even know whether the last two posts are pisstakes or not

Everything up until Where Iron Crosses Grow is great death metal. Have to say, just by accident, I stopped paying attention after that, but they're pretty much the Iron Maiden of death metal. Helped reinvent the wheel on their earliest stuff, then stuck to what they know, but damn well, after that. I'm half cut though, so if someone reminds me of some terrible EP or something they did on the way, that's also possible. Anyway, fuckin' Dismember like, great stuff.

And I was the opposite; got into Deicide late, so I've not much of a nostalgia buzz with them like I do with Dismember. Tellin' ye, when Dismember played DOD, I was beside myself. More literally, I was beside H, but he was also beside himself, so everything was very neatly arranged overall  :abbath:

Sound, I'll start working my way through the rest. Not even sure why I haven't already, Like an Ever Flowing Stream and Indecent & Obscene are brilliant.
I think I just had it in my head they went to shite after but I'm not sure why. Could have them completely mixed up with another band

Like An Everflowing Stream is great. Never checked out anything else and they wouldn't even come into the conversation up against Deicide, for me.

This video, from their third album, Massive Killing Capacity, is part of my metal DNA. Used to be played regularly on Into The Pit.

It was years later I first paid attention to Deicide, when Scars of the Crucifix came out. I don't even know how that album is ranked by proper fans, but I loved it from first listen, and then slowly worked backwards over the years. Quality band, legendary and deserving of it, don't get me wrong, just not part of me personal metal fibres.

Jesus lads Dismember are absolute DM Royalty!.Deicide and Dismembers first albums are the two most iconic death metal albums for me.

A bit surprising alright that they aren't so universally revered or known as I would have thought. Death Metal Royalty indeed.

Quote from: Trev on June 02, 2023, 10:13:24 PMOnly ever listened to Dismember's first two, anything past that any use?

Pieces EP, Massive Killing Capacity and Death Metal are deadly. Dismember were always my favourite of the Swedish death metal along with Carnage "Dark Recollections"

Im a Dismember fan boy!,Cant tell you how excited i was when they played that venue on O Connell street years back!

Was that the place that was sort of open floor upstairs ,stage was basically right on the floor?
I was right there at the front, got handed a plectrum from David Blomquist. Only ever time I was ever at a gig in there, got the impression they weren't used to a horde of feral metalheads descending on the place.

Tbh i cant remember a whole lot about the venue now!,I do have a recollection of a Necropagia video playing on tvs in the bar in the venue?.For some reason that sticks out in my head.

I think it's called something else now. Hard to keep up.

When Dismember played it was Gasworks. Murray's was the downstairs bar.
