Add DMDS to the list of great albums rendered unlistenable by shit vocals. The instrumental version is as close as I can get to it.

Ah here. That is one of the classic Black Metal vocal performances, unorthodox yes but atmospheric and unique - wouldn't swap them for anything

WHAT???? It's irreplaceable and unmatched. Akin to Varg's howls and Nocturno Culto's raspy ice cold vocals. Those performances are genre defining.
Just like Nightside Eclipse or Anthems. :abbath: Battles In The North is another one.

Just popping in to say it's the vocals that make dmds as much as anything else but I still do laugh every single time

As legendary and amazing I think Emperor are, DMDS is the greatest black metal album of all time so I don't understand the comparison. Imo the ticket price is worth it to see emp in the Olympia!

They don't even sound anything like each other it's a non argument.

DMDS is close to being the best of the black metal but imo burzum is the real winner.

Anyway I bought physical tickets to this and I'm fucking buzzing for it.

I am already ironing my rave clothes

Just seen Emperor play In the nightside eclipse in full last night, such a great show, they're tight as anything live, you guys are in for a treat hearing Anthems, the few tracks they played from it sounded great.

Neither have I. Closest I got was Zyklon supporting Enslaved and they were lethal so I have fairly high hopes for em being tight as a miser at least

I saw them over here last year and enjoyed it. They played Nighrside in its entirety with a few extras at the end.
