Thought Kill List and Mother were cuntish. May revisit the former at some stage.

Watched The Taking of Deborah Logan last weekend. Absolutely terrible but the reviews seem positive. I saw no redeeming qualities.

Oh High Rise is absolute dogshit. Ballard is unfilmable.

Counterpoint hot take: Cronenberg's Crash is better than the book.

Anyone seen Normal? Ben Wheatley with Bob Odenkirk. Marked as a dark comedy.

Another one I hadn't heard of. Onto the list it goes.

I've never read Ballard hut absolutely hated Crash. Style over substance.

Normal is pretty decent, I enjoyed it, I enjoyed Nobody more but it's entertaining nonetheless. Worth a punt.

I really liked Crash. I thought Mother was great too. It definitely helped that I had an idea what it was about before I saw it.

Watched The Island Of Dr Moreau last night for the first time. Not a very good film but a lot better than what I was expecting after all the shit I'd heard about it. The creature design looks great in it and it's pretty gruesome for a 12 rated film. It's still very messy though.

Did you watch Moreau after or before seeing the documentary (which is class)?

I saw the documentary a couple of months ago which is what intrigued me to watch the film. The documentary is great. It just shows how a great idea for a film can be destroyed by studio interference. All the sketches and stuff they had in mind looked so cool. Looked like a full on horror.

I just watched a trailer for a French horror film called Pandemonium, which came out three years ago. It looks utterly incredible. I will order the DVD on payday. Any of you horror nerds familiar with it?

If its the same one I'm thinking of (somr lad stuck up a mountain), I gave up half way through it

It's about a car crash where people are killed and the dude driving seems to go on a Dantéan trip through hell.

Watched Sightseers and Normal last night. Ben Wheatley directed both but that where the comparisons end. Sightseers was amazing across the board and Normal was chewing gum for the eyes. Enjoyable but nothing really to it.

As far as I can remember there were 3 different parts to that film. The first part where they figure out they've been in a crash was great. The middle section was weird as fuck and the last section was really good. It's wasn't that great of a movie but I'd recommend watching it for the first and last section.

Went to see the new Evil Dead last night. Thought it was the worst one out of rhe newer ones. Not very good and way too long.

Saw a class little film called Payday (1973 one). Rip Torn plays a complete bastard of a country singer, touring the bars and motel rooms. One of those characters who's a great charmer and manipulator, but also a total sociopath. Good fun and dark at the same time.
