Can't go wrong with any of those.Little Bill Daggett is definitely a top five Hackman performance.

Went through a mad spaghetti western binge last year as there's loads of them on Plex. Last one would I watched was Red Sun with Charles Bronson & Toshirō Mifune.  Outlaw & Samurai unite to go after Alain Delon.

I watched a few of late. If you just watched The Magnificent Seven then you have to follow it up with The Wild Bunch. All the ones you listed are class, though Josey Wales might just edge out Unforgiven for me. High Plains Drifter and Pale Rider are my other Squint western faves.

I mentioned Zulu a few pages back. Not a western at all, but somehow it really fits in with the vibe. Worth a go if you're in that zone.

Oh, and if you're in the Hackman zone, The French Connection is one of his absolute best. Might be one of my top 10 of all time films. I recently did a Hackman jaunt with French Connection, The Conversation, and Unforgiven. All amazing performances.

Four of my five favourite westerns there. Top of the tree is Once Upon A Time In The West, simply perfect.

Got bagged by the gardai before and failed the roadside test (wasn't over the limit btw but had a few the night before) so had to go to the station to confirm.

Garda says to me what was I up to the night before

Having a few cans says I, watching a film

What was the film?

Zulu

Michael Caine?

Yeah that one

Jaysus that's some film isn't it

Just popped into me head reading that

Back on topic I went to The Mandalorian last night. I really enjoyed the first 2 seasons of the show so hoped I'd enjoy it

Jaysus it was fair bad

Paw patrol level of bad

Watched the first half hour of Threads on YouTube, having never seen it before. Good stuff so far but I'm struggling to keep my eyes open so I'll have to try finish it tomorrow.

It just gets bleaker and bleaker

You're in for a treat. Absolutely class flick

Unreal, ya. With all the technology now available the remake still won't come close.

Went to see Obsession last night. A very good horror.

Yeah I thought obsession was brilliant, I loved it but it was a pretty brutal watch, scared the shit out of me

Not a film for cat lovers, it's fair to say.

that's my favorite western by far. Morricone nails the score in it too. It is as you say perfect!

I thought hokum was fun but holy shit is your man Fran from love hate a shockin' actor. Kinda ruined it for me.

Watched Last Days there. The Gus van Sant film based loosely on Kurt Cobain's final few days. I do enjoy an arty film, but this one didn't really do it for me. 90mins of a guy just pottering around his house doing nothing. It's made its point by about 30mins in, then you're just waiting for it to end.

Watched one called London To Brighton last night. Really good fast paced gritty thriller.
