There's a trailer doing the rounds for a new Street Fighter movie.

I honestly can't tell if it's an AI piss-take or a real thing that's happening.

It's real.
There are 2 from WWE in it, the fella from the Bruce Lee inspired show -Warrior, a comedian from the Joe Rogan stable amongst others.

It looks atrocious, but nail the vibe. Big fan of the games, so will turn my brain off and head to this when it's out.

The Rambo movies.. as time goes on I seem to prefer 'First Blood' as opposed to the later, more grandiose sequels.  That being said Rambo 3 is a good time, it seems to age well or badly politically each month.

Gave the og LOTR trilogy a watch again recently.  They really were special from the acting to the OST to the effects and hold up very well to this day. Don't see the point in this new Gollum movie. Leave it alone,  dont care who is 'coming back' to star in it.

First Blood is a great flick!
Even on it's own, as opposed to be part of the Rambo canon.

Stallone hated it when it was first made. He thought the early edits and test screenings were terrible. Wanted to try and buy the rights and shelve it.

They're currently filming the prequel movie with the guy who directed Sisu. Think David Harbour's playing Col Trautman.

Rambo 1-4 are great for various reasons.
1 is a solid thriller regardless of Stallone, 2 the dumb as fuck Reagan wish fulfillment, 3 more of the same but some deadly set pieces and the fourth for the absolute carnage.

Sly sticking the oar in and hijacking the directors chair from the second movie definitely influenced the franchise.

Last Blood is absolutely shite, but it could have been way worse. One of the scripts Sly almost went with was Rambo versus a genetically modified super soldier/alien in a flip of the first movie, but went with the "cartels are the greatest threat to 'murica".

Rambo 4 is my favourite. Very little in the way narrative, much in way of ott violence.

It was a breath of fresh air for the time period.
You had the studios wanting PG action, the Hong Kong/Matrix clones and the start of the MCU.

Then they all started cloning The Raid/John Wick and Baldwin (via a lazy prop manager) goes and fucks up the use of blanks in movies forever.

Ya, it was a really fun throwback to what I loved about the first 2, and other straight up action movies, that just weren't being made anymore. As you say,  just beautiful carnage.

The Polanski version of Macbeth from 1971.

Such a great film. I think British folk horror in general originates with Macbeth, and this film came out around the same time as other films like The Wicker Man and The Blood on Satan's Claw. Nice oppressive atmosphere, great performances, and it really leans into the violence. The fight scenes at the end are some of the better ones I've seen in any film.

Vanishing Point

Had never seen it before. Cool car chase movie. The 1971 version, I haven't seen the remake.

Class film, haven't seen it in years. Cleavon Little was the DJ in that I think?

Makes me want to stick on the Primal Scream album now.

Yeah it's an interesting role too when you're so used to his cool, calm character from Blazing Saddles

'Obedience' — Wong Siu-pong's film explores life in the shadows of a rapidly developing corner of Kowloon. beautifully shot documentary

Watched a horror called Undertone. Was quite good and creepy without relying on any jumpscares.
Also rewatched Point Break. Still a great film.
