If anyone feels like reposting my ramble from another thread about Burning here be my guest

Here we go:

this is gonna be of very little interest to most on here (hello, Quill brothers)  but I've been obsessed with this band called Burning for the last few months, who have very little recorded output but there's a few live sets of them playing (so far) unreleased material out there that are fucking incredible. This one is particularly ace. Industrial stuff that reminds me of a harsher Grotus or Crash Worship, the darkest Skinny Puppy stuff, maybe even a guitarless Skin Chamber - samples, two drummers, bass (the dude from Obsequaie/Majesties), vocals. Really eerie, paranoid stuff in places. Very much doing their own thing. I'd also say if you like The Body, "Cop" era Swans, Intensive Care, STRCLVR or stuff on The Flenser you'll dig them.

Not a whole lot to look at but the tunes are mesmerising. Currently the only way to hear these songs, apparently. The first one, "the mountain", is amazing.

Good man.

So yeah, all of that.

Been revisiting Foetus a heap lately. Here's the song that got me into him

Ah yeah Foetus is always a great shout. So many class tunes

I thought there was a Ministry thread but sure this is as good a place as any...

I see Paul Barker is back and they're recording yet another final album. Hopefully it's decent, I gave up on them a long time ago. The last one I heard was the one after The Last Sucker and it was shite, I can't imagine the subsequent stuff being much use.

Hopium for the Masses wasn't too bad to be honest, a little bit more stronger than some of the post Last Sucker stuff.

I'd love to see them tour the With Sympathy set as the gig from last month as the Cruel World gig looked brilliant and the current lineup is pretty solid.

I've been done with them since Barker left. I tried every album at least once but no it's just never been the same without Barker. I'm looking forward to hearing this. His other stuff has been excellent and actually sounds a lot like what's missing from ministry. Great news for me

Only tried Hopium once and all I can remember is some toxic masculinity shit. Is it actually any good?

Aye, a welcome return.

I've said it before but in terms of post-Barker Ministry, Houses Of The Molé is fantastic.

Nothing too memorable, but had it on while doing a few bits round the house and on walks so it's grand that way. Dumb and loud 😂

They'll never get back to the glory days as Al isn't a chemistry set any more aside from weed and wine.

Think the bad run of albums post last sucker was down to him being shook up by Scaccia & Raven passing away, quitting opiods and getting that sketchy fucker from Society 1 (?) as a member was an invitation for bottom of the barrel Ministry riffs.

There have been some truly awful riffs on the last few I think Relapse was the worst of the lot though

I thought The Last Sucker was fairly poor to be honest, and Rio Grande Blood was only OK too. The only ones I rate post-Psalm 69 are Animositisomina and HOTM, I know a lot of people have time for Filth Pig and DSOTS, but apart from a couple of songs I find them hard to listen to. Shitty production being a large part of that, but the songs just aren't there either.

Filth Pig/,Dark Side.... are definitely ones you have to be in the mood for.

One of the tracks popped up on shuffle the other day and couldn't skip the thing fast enough.

Filth Pig probably my favourite Ministry album alongside or after TLORAH.  I feel like I have posted that here before.

Im a big fan of Filth Pig;DSOTS is decent some cool tracks on there. After that ive dipped in and out.
