I had October Rust on earlier. The lyrics to The Green Man are phenomenal.

I think it's one of my favourite songs overall of theirs.  Perfectly put together and one of their best outros.

Ah so many amazing songs on that album alone. How to choose. But despite having read the lyrics a few times they never stuck in my head. The vocal fx obscure any chance of making out what he's singing so going over them this morning I was struck by their depth and poetry.

Seen them in the SFX in 97, great gig. My introduction to them was slow, deep and hard when it came out so that's the era I listen to the most. From the carnivore albums up to bloody kisses will do me fine  :)

Well, it's very Type O. Vocally it started off a bit like latter day Tiamat but then went quite Pete Steele. Is Josh Silver out of retirement?

Gonna take a guess and say it's the guy from Spirit Adrift, high vocals sound exactly like him and they used to be on 20 Buck Spin.

Anyway, song is grand, not really catchy enough for true Type O worship!

Pound shop Type O is about the best we'll get. I have a feeling some ex member might be involved.

But there's no replacing Pete Steele. Ever.

Might be cool for the new generation but I wouldn't see myself going for it if it's just that, despite how I hearken for more

The "new generation" of Type O fans I consulted last night (ie the daughter) were not impressed.  ;D

The problem for a band like this is that you can never beat Type O at their own game.

The problem for curmudgeons is that despite the inferiority, the old familiar ingredients are so damn good it's impossible not to like it

I was listening to an even more Type O rip off the other day. I'll see if I can find them. Also really good despite absolutely zero personality.

They're both competent but yeah, no Pete no soul.

I'll go first: Beige No.1

I'd happily go see Muiris and Co do their show anytime, as a straight up tribute they were wonderful. But not someone just copying them.

Ha, I'd laugh if it was the lads behind that Death copy band Gruesome

Shamelessly so. You would be hard pushed to ever buy it and it ultimately makes  you want to lob on Type O, but it's good.

I think maybe I'd have fared better without the video but fuck it's just so sad
