I checked out As the Shadows Fall the other day and instantly orded the CD reissue. It seems to alternate from song to song between really slow doom death but with clean vocals by Dan Swanö, and more uptempo groovy doom. I prefer the slow stuff but the other parts aren't a million miles away from the excellent Lamented Souls so I'm happy with that.  There is an acoustic song towards the end that is truly fucking awful. It sounds like something from the Dawson's Creek soundtrack or something,  but otherwise it's a winner.

In my excitement I also grabbed the follow-up, In the Electric Mist. From the little I've listened to from that it sounds more like mid- late 90s alt/grunge sort of rubbish, haha. Kind of a third rate Alice in Chains... Or Cold! Dear me.  Maybe it will be a grower. A grower of dust! Sure look it  As the Shadows Fall will keep me very happy!
