I work from home 2 days a week, and once a month the missus goes into the office on one of these blessed days. I drop the young lad off to creche, then come home to blissful silence before shattering the silence by blaring death metal all day. It's like being a teenager again...apart from having to work.

I had a rare day to myself yesterday. I spent a good 5 hours straight recording music 

It's hard to bate the flake on the couch with a book, cupán tae and records spinning, but a good day of recording music just about does it.

Fishing. Managed a few hours pike fishing earlier today and aside from catching a pair of bangers (17 and 19.5lb) the peace and beauty of the Irish landscape on a day like today is unbeatable.

Oh man, this one got me. I used to hike a lot when I was back home and there's absolutely nothing like getting yourself into the countryside away from civilization, to the top of a mountain, and just gazing out across the landscape in the silence. There truly is nothing like the Irish countryside. I'd always bring a wee victory beverage to enjoy at the top too, just to enhance the moment.
