Today I decided to try the following for the first time and years:

Megadeth - The World Needs A Hero
Pantera - Reinventing The Steel

Fuck me 2001 was a poor year for metal. I was so disappointed with both these on release date and time has not made them any better.

*** Edit - just copped Pantera was actually in 2000. Still a shite period for metal in general. ***

Full of Hell - Coagulated Bliss
Suffocate for Fuck Sake - FYRA
Meathook Seed - Embedded

I actually enjoy Reinventing The Steel now more than I did but not enough to actually really enjoy it. It's a let down overall.

Anyway.. had an Anaal Nathrakh album on today didn't get through 4 songs and I was gone

Then I put on a Blood Red Throne album from 2005 and it was good fun can't remember the name now and I had it on CD and all

I think things had improved massively around then,ok some of the bigger  bands might have released sub par albums. But overall there was a resurgence imo.

I had to listen to Reinventing The Steel last night to see if it was as good/bad as I remembered. It's a chore to get through.
Everything is boring but the worst offender is Phil. Between whatever "medication"'he was on a general lack of interest it's a piss poor performance from someone who was a powerhouse.

Far Beyond Driven this morning. It's still a savage album.

Medusa - Dare to Rock
MegatonSword - Niralet
Wheel - Charismatic Leaders
Rotting Christ - Triarchy of the Lost Lovers
The Gathering - Always...
Ard - Untouched By Fire

Tiamat- Clouds.
Motörhead- Iron Fist.
Black Sabbath- Heaven and Hell.

Cruel Force:Dawn Of The Axe
Morgul Blade: Heavy Metal Wraiths
Friends Of Hell:God Damned You To Hell

Skyes ripping his shirt off and kneeling in the rain in the Jelly Roll video will never cease to be funny.

And the fucking parachute pants in Valley Of The Kings would make MC Hammer weep.

Savage album though. Even with that unfortunately titled track...

BLUE MURDER - Nothin' But Trouble (1993)

Just slightly less brilliant than the debut IMO. Vastly underrated.

Sepultura Schizophrenia and Beneath The Remains this evening. Opposite order though.

Got it into my head to have a little smoke after every couple of songs and it just kept getting better. The gaps got bigger as well tbf but Troops Of Doom was so strong I had to stop there.

Where to go next is the question..? Dunno whether to go harder or groovier or punkier but I'm thinking

Arkhon Infaustus - Perdition Insanabilis

might just do something else altogether so that's on now and yes good choice and a very underrated or even not even heard to be rated at all more like it album.

Haven't got sick of this one at all over the years
