I've only been through the new one once but I'm not sure I'd put  it above SS at this stage

Ancient Wisdom - For Snow Covered the Northland

A band who until recently never even entered my radar, despite the main guy being involved with stuff like Naglfar, Throne of Ahaz and Bewitched back in the 90's. I suppose nondescript album covers don't help and Avantgarde always had abysmal distribution (round these parts anyway).

It's good stuff though! Getting a massive early Paradise lost vibe to some of the stuff on here, so by default there's parallels with early Katatonia. Also some similarities to early Vintersorg but without the jaunty folky stuff.

Spectral Wound - A Diabolic Thirst
Spectral Wound - Infernal Decadence

Listening to the System of a down catalogue.

Senjutsu, really growing on me.

Sørgelig - We, the Oblivious

KVIST-FOR KUNSTEN MAA VI EVIG VIKE.

Burzum - Det Som Engang Var

Fatima Mansions.

Cracking stuff surprised I never heard of them

I remember that name (obviously taken from the flats in Dublin) from the early 90s. I can't remember anything about the band but that they played some kind of indie music I think.

I only heard of it the other day. Really good stuff lots of variety. FNM would be the most obvious reference point.

Have only listened to the one album but I see they have a few

Melechesh - Emissaries

The new Unto Others album, they used to be called Idle hands.
It's like a mix of Grave Pleasures, and thrashy death. It definitely warrants a few more spins.
